Megyn Kelly Interviews Six Members of Bergdahl’s Platoon

Soldiers who served with Bowe Bergdahl were in the news a lot this week offering their opinions on the situation and most of them are clearly not happy with Bergdahl being portrayed as a hero.

For the sin of interfering with the preferred narrative, these men have been accused of swift-boating Bergdahl and were even called psychopaths by a member of the Obama administration.

Megyn Kelly interviewed six of these men on her FOX News program Thursday night. Here’s a segment.

Ben Domenech keeps the Bergdahl issue in perspective with a piece at The Federalist:

Four Things To Keep In Mind Regarding Bowe Bergdahl

1. No one buys the White House line on this, not even the Senate. The White House says they had to do this illegal thing – skipping the obligation to inform the Senate a month ago – because the terrorists said they’d kill the hostage. That’s not a description of a post-war prisoner swap at all. It’s one or the other. Americans aren’t angry about this deal because of the way the Afghan war is ending – they are angry because they see a president willing to illegally circumvent Congress to release five bad guys and put lives at risk in an attempt to keep a campaign promise. Even Democrats in the Senate agree. Talk about a messaging breakdown.

“…they are angry because they see a president willing to illegally circumvent Congress to release five bad guys and put lives at risk in an attempt to keep a campaign promise.”

Several things wrong with that sentence, though I generally agree with Ben.

1. Americans are angry because they see Baracula spitting on a law he promised (via his suck puppet Carney) a year ago to honor, and

2. LYING about what he was doing in such an artless manner that it declares “EAT SH!T, America…!!!”, and

3. at the same time telling the farcical lie “we didn’t negotiate with terrorists”, WHILE

4. ALSO lying about the shape of the deal (“served with honor and distinction”, “assurances from Qatar”, “health” then “death threats”, etc., and MORE etc.).

5. Obama has NEVER been concerned about violating what he promised in his campaigns…he lied constantly, as now.

6. This is more about his “legacy”. Which is one constant example of anti-American values expressed through a sick, broken child with a palpable contempt for our nation.

The child isn’t sick and broken. He is defiant and rebellious, hell bent on burning down the house because the design doesn’t please him.

He needs to be taken to the woodshed to have his arse properly waxed. And not by Reggie Love either.

Ragspierre in reply to Juba Doobai!. | June 7, 2014 at 7:44 am

I have to disagree. With his childhood of abandonment by BOTH his sick-ass parental units, coupled with being raised by overly-doting grandparents, he could hardly help being a sick, broken child.

Hence the narcissism he is famous for, leading to the hubris he is also infamous for.

I don’t blame him for being sick. I blame him for foisting off his twisted personality on the nation.

Juba Doobai! in reply to Ragspierre. | June 7, 2014 at 7:57 am

Obama is not the first child to be raised by loving grandparents, abandoned by his father, and with a mother in another country. If he did not have grandparents who provided him the best they could, you might have a point. Look at what he did with what he got: exclusive Hawaiian HS; he rebelled by smoking pot and not doing a lick of work. Grandma gave him love and security; he rebelled by calling grandma a racist just because she didn’t like it that a black guy was threatening towards her, and he sympathized with the guy rather than his grandma.Who does that?

Grandpa gave him a black Communist, Frank Marshall Davis as mentor. Obama didn’t rebel against that, not one lick. He sucked that up and has been kicking America in the shins ever since.

He’s not a sick, twisted freak. He’s an ungrateful and rebellious bastard who thinks the world should be as he wills it.

Ragspierre in reply to Juba Doobai!. | June 7, 2014 at 8:06 am

You just agreed with me while arguing with me.

And I never said “freak”. That would elevate his status beyond culpability. He IS culpable.

Juba Doobai! in reply to Juba Doobai!. | June 7, 2014 at 8:29 am

I generally do agree with you, Rags, and sometimes will argue just to play devil’s advocate. But not here. You said he’s a sick and broken child. I said he’s a rebellious America-hating SOB. We both agree that he’s afflicting the country with whatever he is.

JackRussellTerrierist in reply to Juba Doobai!. | June 8, 2014 at 2:21 am

I think obastard’s narcissism and arrogance arise from being an over-indulged, spoiled, pampered brat who’s been catered to all his life and had everything handed to or arranged for him, then talking outrage out one side of his mouth about this and that while laughing his ass off at his listeners’ stupidity out the other side of his mouth.

Phillep Harding in reply to Ragspierre. | June 7, 2014 at 1:54 pm

We can grieve for the victim that was, but we must deal with the monster that is in order to prevent more victims, and monsters.

I do not agree with the notion that Barry Soetoro was abandoned. He was sent back to Hawaii when he was a teenager. It was a choice he made to go live with his grandparents.

Ragspierre in reply to Aussie. | June 8, 2014 at 10:51 am

Just a quick point in passing, Aussie…

you can be abandoned by a parent who is physically present with you every day.

Abandonment does not require that you are not left with a care-taker. Obama-mama had MUCH higher priorities than her boy. As her choices irrefutably demonstrate.

josiahlongknife in reply to Ragspierre. | June 7, 2014 at 2:04 pm

He is literally the Manchurian Candidate foisted upon us by Geo Soros. The legacy he wishes to leave is that which was instructed to him by those who placed him in the white house.

Rags, this is extremely well stated.

JackRussellTerrierist in reply to Ragspierre. | June 8, 2014 at 2:11 am

…and, although none of this is a laughing matter, it’s laughable that obastard’s major screwup with Bergdahl is not quashing attention to the VA debacle, but rather is emphasizing it.

I heard four different people in different conversations on Friday follow a comment made about this or that about the Bergdahl matter with an immediate, additional comment about the obastard’s VA failure, which is what he wanted to quell.

The VA story may be below the fold or on p.12A of the NY Slimes or WA Compost now, but it’s still in the forefront of people’s minds, and now they’ve connected it directly with the Bergdahl screwup. What I heard went, variously, about like this, “Yeah, …. a deserter who converted to Islam, and Obama rolls out the red carpet for him, sets five mastermind killers of our soldiers free to get this whiney pussy back, then look at how he’s shit all over real American heroes …. our vets….just letting them die without ever getting to a hospital.”

    And so on.

And I see by the Drudge Report that obastard is on video chewing gum during the WWII D-Day memorial service in France.

Obama was in Europe all week. Why didn’t he pop over to Landstuhl for a photo-op with Bowe Bergdahl at the hospital??

When will Obama invite Bergdahl to the Rose Garden for a welcome home ceremony?

    josiahlongknife in reply to myiq2xu. | June 7, 2014 at 1:59 pm

No photo op right now, because the traitor is toxic.

    McAllister in reply to myiq2xu. | June 7, 2014 at 9:40 pm

Excellent point. Additionally, what is the status of Bergdahl’s health? Are we to believe he can’t be transported to the WH right now? Heh. It’s in Obama’s best interest to keep him hidden away.

JackRussellTerrierist in reply to McAllister. | June 8, 2014 at 2:24 am

Well, then, obastard should send Bergdahl to a VA hospital. His body won’t be recovered for at least a year.

Juba Doobai! | June 7, 2014 at 7:39 am

I sincerely hope that the presidency of Barak Hussein Obama is a teachable moment for ALL Americans–vain hope from what some in the GOP are doing promoting Rubio and the Dems Hillary.

An American president must be more than a skin color, ethnicity, or sex. The POTUS must be committed to the ideal that is the USA, devoted to the Constitution, an upholder of the law even when the law is counter to his political ideology. The POTUS must be willing to look past partisan parochialism to America and what serves her best. He must have a servant’s heart.

We should not vote for less.

HarrietHT in reply to Juba Doobai!. | June 7, 2014 at 2:35 pm

America is more than an ideal, or an idea, as Kansas Sen. candidate Dr. Wolf suggested recently in his campaign ad.
America is a particular people and culture, the values of which are reflected in her Declaration of Independence and our Constitution. America is the bulwark of Western Civilization, perhaps formerly, even its pinnacle. And we are in the process of losing it.
We fight not to uphold an idea, but a people and their way of life.

Obama didn’t use the Taliban 5 to release Bergdahl. Obama used Bergdahl to release the Taliban 5.
—Richard Fernandez PJM

I think that is about right.

The Collectivist lawyers are all lined up to seek release of their murderous pirate clients.

Obama dodges the need for “civilian trials” (as promised).

Like illegal alien criminals, he just opens the cages and lets them free to kill again.

    Rags,

as an outsider, I agree that it was the other way around, that Abdullah Bergdahl was used to release the Taliban 5. He was not in danger of being killed.

JackRussellTerrierist in reply to Aussie. | June 8, 2014 at 2:27 am

Precisely. Bergdahl was obastard’s rainy day ace-in-the-hole to set his brethren free and divert attention from the VA matters. It was a ‘two-fer’.

Here is the truth – “… the real aim was getting these five guys out of Gitmo,…” And it wasn’t to keep a campaign promise – he doesn’t give a shit about any promise.

What enraged me was Obama and his limber jacks having the guts to say multiple times – He did it because America doesn’t leave her soldiers behind, we don’t leave anyone in uniform behind.

And conviently everyone has selective memory loss about Benghazi – where He he left real American Heroes who had rushed in to danger to rescue their embattled friends and colleagues. He left them to fight alone for hours and to finally die waiting for help which he, and only he denied.

Great comments from all, and the tiny issue between Ragspierre and Juba Doobai does not deflect from the uniform recognition of the disaster obama is and the damage he is inflicting on America.
I am working to shake the depression caused by having read the AP History article on College Insurrection. Getting rid of obama will be nice, but can America survive when our kids are being so brainwashed? In effect that course will attempt to teach kids that obama is right to hate America and to destroy its institutions.

Henry Hawkins | June 7, 2014 at 11:36 am

“Taliban 5”. Nitpick: There were 4 Taliban and 1 Haqqani.

I think Diane Feinstein would rather see plastic Joe Biden in the WH.

Henry Hawkins in reply to jennifer a johnson. | June 7, 2014 at 4:14 pm

She might get her way. I predicted here on LI during Obama’s first term that his personality disorder was such that if he didn’t get his way or saw his political agenda as hopelessly blocked, he’d resign and pursue global glory, likely at the UN. If the GOP takes the Senate majority to go along with the House majority this fall, Obama goes immediately into lame duckitude with little to do but explain his constant vetoes of whatever Congress sends him. Obama said last week he’d find such a midterm outcome “unbearable”. I could see him resigning in a “if I can’t win I’ll take my bat and ball and go home” hissy fit. Then it’s President Joe Biden, who will provide a calvalcade of laughs till 2016. Works for me.

JackRussellTerrierist in reply to Henry Hawkins. | June 8, 2014 at 2:32 am

obastard will never resign. His ego, arrogance and narcissism would never cooperate. I’m sure what we’ve seen of his mental disease publicly is just the tip of the iceberg.

Well, I think Diane Feinstein is on to something.

Diane loves the USA even if she is a Democrat. I think that plastic Joe is more pliable.

JackRussellTerrierist in reply to Aussie. | June 8, 2014 at 2:43 am

DiFi is just setting up a good cop/bad cop scenario wherein she questions him on this at first so she can later say she believes him or supports his decision, etc..

She’s trying to help him, not hurt him, over a somewhat short window of time.

I lived in CA for over fifty years and in San Francisco when she started coming into power as mayor. I’ve never voted for her for anything. As for her loving America, none of us knows what’s in her heart. We can only look to her decisions as executive while she was mayor and her legislative record in the senate. They aren’t good, IMO. For starters, she’s a rabid attack dog on the Second Amendment and has always been a strong supporter of abortion. That’s not representative of the America I love.

Why hasn’t he been impeached already.
