Just when you thought the White Privilege Conference could not get any worse

Indoctrinating teachers to indoctrinate your children in critical race theory and anti-capitalism.

The annual White Privilege Conference, which we first covered in 2010, is in the news because of video posted at Progressives Today exposing the almost insane indoctrination of teachers to indoctrinate students in critical race theory and anti-capitalism, White Privilege Industrial Complex exposed.

In segment two of its series, Progressives Today exposes more truly bizarre and troubling parts of the conference, White Privilege Conference speakers judge by skin color and claim rape is not intrinsically bad:

  • Speaker Adrien Wing: ‘You can’t just look at the face’ and goes on to slam Clarence Thomas and Barack Obama.
  • Wing: Obama is ‘the face of global White privilege.’
  • Wing: Obama is the ‘black face in the White House.’
  • Wing: Urges attendees to think about ways to rein in freedom of speech
  • Speaker Paul Kivel compares Christianity to ‘racism and sexism or other systems of oppression.’
  • Speaker Leonard Zeskind: ‘The longer you are in the Tea Party, the more racist you become.’
  • Zeskind: Parents put their kids in private schools because they’re racist
  • Speaker Stephanie Baran: capitalism perpetuates white supremacy and privilege, racism and sexism
  • So-called ‘White ally:’ ‘White people do not experience racism.’
  • Ally: Rape is not intrinsically bad.

Here are a couple of key screen caps:

Shouldn’t we find calling our black president a front man doing his master’s bidding racially insensitive?

A test I like…and others HATE…is “the turn-around test”.

It is very simple, and it is starkly telling.

Just invert…race in this case…in a proposition.

You come up with outright hate and indoctrination that would make Nazis proud, the KKK jealous, and Pol Pot want to take notes.

And the SPLC is where on this…???

Immolate’s Law of Entropy (you like that?) states that any thought process, unchecked by reality, will devolve into stupidity. There isn’t a one of these freakin’ idiots that I would permit to mow my lawn. It is a damning indictment of the society we live in that they are not living under an overpass somewhere, or begging for alms at a gas station.

Ragspierre in reply to Immolate. | May 15, 2014 at 9:30 am

    Let me suggest a counter-intuitive observation…

these people are EXACTLY one of the perverse products of a very, very successful society, given just two predicates:

    1. Capitalism works, and

    2. Liberty of thought and speech work

In fact, a reasoner would predict these kinds of people, especially one acquainted with the Frankfurt School.

Henry Hawkins in reply to Ragspierre. | May 15, 2014 at 12:12 pm

Just right, Rags. A truly free and open society assures fringe elements with full freedom of speech – but not certainty of implementation.

There is often irony in a free society, such as the way American pacifists could not exist without the American history of martial activity to establish and preserve the freedoms and national security which provide the embrella of rights for the pacifists to exist freely in the first place.

Exiliado in reply to Immolate. | May 15, 2014 at 11:12 am

You would not allow them to mow your lawn, but somehow they ended up “educating” (indoctrinating, brainwashing) our children.

Ragspierre in reply to Exiliado. | May 15, 2014 at 11:28 am

If there was ever any doubt about WHY Bill Ayers and his Collectivist cell went into EDUCATION, this should completely explain it.

You can take people of very middling intelligence, wash them though a “slum of the university” called “The College Of Education” and turn them loose as totally indoctrinated, unthinking foot soldiers for the Collective.

They will be well-paid, cosseted parasites on the society that feeds them and which they work to destroy.

Pretty smart, in a diabolical sort of way.

Bruno Lesky in reply to Ragspierre. | May 15, 2014 at 12:21 pm

Checking the bios of some of the WPC speakers, they’ve received their “educations” via Women’s “Studies” and African “Studies” departments. In addition to the “Education” major mentioned above, add many of the other majors in various “Studies” — Asian … Gender and Sexuality … and of course American “Studies,” etc. and you get the brainwashed and now brainwashing vanguard of the cultural Marxist transformers of this country. Spreading through all govt. funded schooling via the most powerful privilege of all: government privilege.

Our education system is awash with far too much money. These people are being paid to do this.

MaggotAtBroadAndWall | May 15, 2014 at 10:05 am

“Capitalism” is the word Marx and Engels invented to describe the system. I like free enterprise. Free enterprise more accurately describes what’s going on: people voluntarily cooperating and mutually deciding to engage in trade, with the buyer holding the ultimate power about whether to transact or not.

Government is the only institution in society which legally relies on coercion. 535 people in Congress and a president in a far away capitol conspire amongst themselves and special interests to extort over $3 trillion dollars from the rest us per year. Money WE have legally earned by engaging in voluntary trade between ourselves. They take it from us and sprinkle around to buy votes and provide inefficient government services fraught with waste, fraud, corruption. Always in the name of compassion or otherwise serving the greater good. It’s coercion disguised as compassion.

Free enterprise pays for EVERYTHING in our society, including the salaries of the people we elected to confiscate our money from us as well as the salaries of disgruntled radicals who pretend to be educators. We earn the money legally by providing goods, services or our labor that someone else wants badly enough that he agrees to pay for it, then the government uses its coercive power to confiscate a big part of our earnings to pay in part the salaries of these misfits who want to destroy the system that provides their living. The irony is that because they are part of the government, they receive the financial benefits of the coercion of others. In effect, the radical misfits are the coercers. It’s quite surreal.

Also, the thing about “critical theory” is there’s never a viable alternative offered. The only goal is to instill hatred against white Americans and what Marxists call “capitalism”.

But wait – there’s more! Today’s release is something hinted at here, and elsewhere, but the video(s) are now released:

Here they are training teachers to inject “theory” into elementary classrooms – and includes 8 year old’s indoctrination examples!!

This conclave of lunatics is far more dangerous than the Jihadists meeting in actual caves.

But how does one counter this poison and still be consistent to the first amendment?

Ragspierre in reply to Aucturian. | May 15, 2014 at 10:29 am

I suggest just the way that Prof. and others are doing, and will do.

    You EXPOSE them.

You illuminate what they are doing.

You teach why that is wrong…indeed dangerous.

And you prepare yourself with the truth and confront them publicly.

Home schooling will restore sanity to the universe.

I was disappointed with Andy and others on Red Eye last night, insisting those that don’t want to see gay men making out on ESPN, have to realize they are the ones with the problem. He’ll “allow” them free speech, BUT only if they admit their discomfort at their seven year old being force fed this, is THEIR OWN damn problem. That’s real Libertarian …

Andy was quite proud (that he was more advanced), because in NYC they see that and more all the time in line at the clubs. He and the the young “chick” that does schtick, both insisted it was just a spontaneous moment, no choreographed moment for national TV, with ESPN’s cameras just happening to catch the joyous natural moment … as if they showed all the other NFL picks making out with their girls.

Greg sort of went along, like “yeah, but the ‘prudes’ need time to catch up”, as if NYC club lines set the social norm for America. So I guess all those social norms of the ages are worthless, and we need might as well “advance” to open nudity and porn as an ESPN sport … or YOU have a problem.

I think they are all cowed by the radical left, and will gladly attack traditional Christianity, to make sure they are never called “homophobe” (or racist, or god forbid “tea party”). The tea party woman on the show said she was quickly covering the eyes of her seven year old. But apparently the norm is supposed to be, young children must be taught (by TV, teacher, or priest) that gay sex is great and normal, (and perhaps the kid has a problem if hasn’t experimented with anal by the time he is twelve, as I guess Polanski and predatory priests would approve of).

“White privilege” apparently includes any Judeo-Christian successful tradition, since it is all Euro-centric evil, unlike the glorious traditions we got out of Africa, like the current “friends of Hillary” that are selling the little girls, or Obama’s grandfather that bought his wife.

As Obama says: his grandfather, Hussein Onyango Obama is Arab. Obama’s maternal grandmother, Akuma, was kidnapped, raped and enslaved by Oyango until she finally escaped, like many girls he had before. So his own grandmother in Africa was a slave to his Arabic Muslim Grandfather. This is according to Sarah Obama, Barack’s step-grandmother and mentioned in Barack’s own Memoir.
https://themuslimissue.wordpress.com/2012/08/27/the-arab-slave-trade-and-200-million-non-muslim-slaves-of-all-skin-colors/

But to these nuts, rape is now again, not intrinsically bad … unless committed by a white male that is not Roman Polanski.

Check your Arab and Black privileges, Barack.

In a case of interesting timing I took on the question today on why the Southern Poverty Law Center took on Common Core critics, and two weeks prior to that, Agenda 21 critics. http://www.invisibleserfscollar.com/social-cohesion-can-commence-once-reality-is-born-largely-from-beliefs-and-boundaries-co-created-with-others/

It turns out they have coupled up with the NEA to put together the real intentions on the Common Core classroom and it is all about courageous conversations about race, culturally responsive pedagogy, student discussions of power relationships, and shifting to a collectivist perspective. These White Privilege discussions are not an outlier, but actually go to the essence of the intended classroom discourse. It all fosters the necessary belief in social and economic change.

And as I point out these beliefs we regard as controversial are now being required under desired Character Traits mischievously making their way into Student Codes of Conduct and definitions of Student Growth and Achievement. Because the feds require proof of effective teaching now to be tied to Student Growth and these changes in attitudes and beliefs once required are that Growth, this is what Effective Teaching looks like when you tie all the definitions together.

“UCLA Professor Says Stats Prove School’s Admissions Illegally Favor Blacks”

“While the first round of admissions consideration is handled fairly, African-American students are nearly three times as likely to make it out of the ‘maybe’ pile than equally-qualified white students, and more than twice as likely as Asians …”

I’d like to make it out of the “White Privilege” Pile and get in on some of this action.

LukeHandCool | May 15, 2014 at 11:01 am

It’s like the white white privilege master’s white white privilege conference has now got Purple hair, but it’s still the white white privilege master’s white white privilege conference.

LukeHandCool (who dares anyone, of any color, to try and say that truism 10 times as fast as they can. And who would like to tell young people … never listen to an “adult,” who, unable to distinguish herself through exceptional writing and thinking, uses purple hair dye as a substitute to “set her apart” as a supposed free thinker. Purple hair? Boring!)

The world needs more plumbers not more intellectuals. Good plumbing contributes more to the health and welfare of the human race than all the liberal arts majors in the world.

healthguyfsu | May 15, 2014 at 11:48 am

The university I teach at is at the very least moderate if not leaning conservative. However, we have our infiltrations of communist liberal white-guilters.

I serve on one of the curriculum committees and here is an excerpt from a syllabus of one of these toads’ proposals:

“Students enter English 310, Introduction to Linguistics, as unreflective denizens of the dominant culture in the United States. That is, as members of the white, privileged, middle class, as citizens who have never studied language from a scientifically informed viewpoint, our students firmly believe the prevailing language rhetoric of the power elite. Specifically, students are steeped in *Dominant language ideology*, the belief that Standard English is the only right and proper language, and that all other dialects are degraded, slovenly, lazy examples of mistakes inside Standard English. Thus, entering students suffer dialect prejudice accruing to this dominant language ideology. The social consequences of dialect prejudice are dire: On the educational scene, future teachers have a negative self-fulfilling prophecy regarding their African American students who often speak a stigmatized dialect, African American Vernacular English, thus contributing to the black-white achievement gap in the US. But even more generally, as citizens of the nation and the world, students from our white, dominant culture hold prejudiced, indeed racist attitudes toward those who speak differently from them.

In consonance with CNU’s mission, English 310 challenges and unseats students’ dialect prejudice and and dominant language ideology. Through the linguistic examination of diverse dialects including stigmatized language varieties, students discover core principles: 1) Language is systematic and rule-governed, 2) If a person speaks a language, they speak a dialect of that language, 3) All dialects are systematic and rule governed, 4) All dialects are linguistically equally (even if socially not so), 4) As we see a people, so we see a language/dialect; As we see a dialect/language so we see a people.

From this foundation, English 310 continues to explore the systematic structures (phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics) of both English and international languages. This study not only brings detailed content knowledge of linguistics, but it **reinforces and deepens students’ understanding of language structure and language patterning, core insights that combat and unseat students’ initial prejudices that ‘different dialects are just broken English.’**
In sum,
– Students enter English 310 with Dominant Language Ideology, believing that their own dialect from the subculture of the white middle class is the only right and true language, and that all other dialects are broken, degraded imitations of Standard English.

– Through linguistic inquiry, students discover that the language and dialects of other subcultures is systematic and rule governed, just as is Standard English.

– They discover that their position as a member of the privileged power elite directly led to a dire outcome or consequence — their holding prejudiced, racist attitudes toward diverse dialect speakers. As students discover that their views reflect the clash between majority and minority cultures in the US (indeed across the globe), they are appalled.

– Students demonstrate knowledge that dialect prejudice and racism result from the interaction between two cultures in the US — the dominant white majority, and the stigmatized minority cultures.

Prof. Stephanie Baran? Did someone say Stephanie Baran?

http://www.gofundme.com/6fy4zo

She’s not a professor. She’s a grad student. And an idiot.

healthguyfsu | May 15, 2014 at 11:49 am

The last point set of bullet points was particularly shocking. It demonstrates that, by her listing of objectives, you must conform to the ideology thrust upon you by the professor. If you don’t conform to her ideology in the course then you will fail the course.

Incidentally, Adrien Wing is a descendent of General Beauregard, the Confederate general who fired on Fort Sumter.

I knew this as a former student of hers.

Looking around, I found this account of her visiting his house in New Orleans:

If only we could give them an appropriate race and send them back in time to Stalin’s Russia.

“When buying and selling are controlled by legislation, the first things to be bought and sold are legislators.”

P. J. O’Rourke

So the corrupt in DC are just “capitalists” selling their power. But they prefer a government backed hostile takeover of “pro-choice” America, to the messy free markets where they can’t mandate choice so directly.

The DC political conglomerate is a massive cartel with a monopoly on power. The states need to use anti-trust laws to regain their power. (or perhaps a constitutional convention, as Levin seems to suggest).

Common Core, Obamacare, government union hiring and contract preferences … all break the spirit of anti-trust laws (as I understand them), break the federalist/limited-government soul of America.

They (the commie left)
did not build that (economically strong and free America)

nordic_prince | May 15, 2014 at 3:10 pm

I am shocked. I suppose I really shouldn’t be, but I just can’t keep up with all the stuff and nonsense the leftists constantly belch out.

If they required more math courses for ALL college majors, there would be far less nonsense.

Estragon in reply to Anchovy. | May 16, 2014 at 12:24 am

There used to “alternative universities” which would be set up in abandoned commercial buildings and run by groups of hippies. They would have course on “peace” and “women’s studies” and “ethnic studies” and “white privilege.”

That’s where this crap belongs – not subsidized by taxpayers.

They not so subtly imply that leftism isn’t a culture while capitalism is, just as they imply that leftism is not ideological but conservatism is.

I don’t care a whit if a bunch of idiot losers want to sit around and whine all day, even about me – as long as I don’t have to listen to it.

I very much object to tax money in any form being used to fund or support such nonsense. It’s all crap, it’s anti-American, anti-freedom, and anti-common sense. No public money or institutions should be supporting such a conference or any of its attendees.

Ragspierre in reply to Estragon. | May 16, 2014 at 2:47 am

Oh, honey! It’s MUCH worse than you know…

“The campaign will also raise awareness of the particular issues faced by LGBT rural communities including increased rates of economic insecurity, lack of family protections, lack of nondiscrimination protections, and the heightened challenges facing rural LGBT youth and rural LGBT people of color.”

Heightened challenges featuring “rural LGBT people of color”: Wow, they’re getting screwed every which way. Talk about drawing the short straw in the haystack. Check your privilege in the third stanchion on the left. As far as I can tell, the phrase “rural LGBT people of color” has never been used in the entirety of human history until USDA decided to “raise awareness” of the issue: That’s how unaware we were.
    —Mark Steyn

That’s the USDA of today. The one ordering machine guns for their personnel.

Now, see, I’ve been asking for two decades why we even have such a thing as the USDA any longer. But it has metastasized into this.

It will get worse until we make it stop.

Progressive Privilege: To hate on others based on their race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation while assuming an air of superiority. If challenged on their actions to claim that they are a victim and being persecuted.
