I support Scarlett Johannson against the haters

BUYcott BUYcott BUYcott Israel

She stood up to the BDS bullies.

She likely will come under increasing attack and boycotts directed at her.

She deserves our support.

Someone started a Facebook support page called I support Scarlett Johannson against the haters.  It would be good to increase the number of “Likes” and for people to share the page.

Brendan O’Neill at The Telegraph has a brilliant take on the situation, Three cheers for Scarlett Johansson’s stand against the ugly, illiberal Boycott Israel movement:

Ever since she was signed up as the face of SodaStream, Ms Johansson has had a tsunami of flak from campaigners who think that buying Israeli stuff, working with Israeli academics or attending Israeli theatre performances is the very worst thing a human being could ever do. You know the kind: they stand outside Marks & Spencer’s on Oxford Street warning all whom enter that this evil shop sells blood-stained products (ie, stuff made in Israel), and they screech and wail, these philistines for Palestine, when an Israeli violinist starts playing at the Proms. I mean, can you imagine it – a musician from Israel inside the Royal Albert Hall? *Shudder*.

…. And then, brilliantly, totally stealing Oxfam’s puffed-up thunder, Ms Johansson’s people issued a statement saying: “Scarlett Johansson has respectfully decided to end her ambassador role with Oxfam after eight years.” Sassy Actress 1, Self-Important Moaners About Israel 0….

In taking this stance, Ms Johansson is being pretty rebellious. There is enormous pressure on the well-known and the well-connected to boycott Israel. Any pop singer who dares to perform there is bombarded with letters, emails and tweets telling them to rethink. Any Western shop that stocks Israeli produce can expect despressed-looking middle-class white people in Arafat-style keffiyehs to turn up on a Saturday morning waving banners saying “Stop supporting Zionism!” Various academic unions boycott Israeli universities, turning that nation’s professors into the lepers of modern intellectual life, as if their words – on stuff as innocent as physics or philosophy – are wont to poison and corrupt those who hear them….

There is nothing remotely progressive in this campaign to boycott everything Israeli, with its double standards about various nations’ behaviour and its shrill rhetoric about everything that comes from Israel being covered in Palestinian blood.

This movement is not designed to have any kind of positive impact in the Middle East but rather is about making certain Western activists feel righteous and pure through allowing them to advertise how Israeli-free their lives are. It’s illiberal, because it effectively demands the censoring of Israeli academics and performers; it’s hypocritical, because it is led by people who are only too happy to use iPhones made in undemocratic China and to vote for the Labour Party, which, er, bombed the hell out of Middle Eastern countries for the best part of 10 years; and it has unfortunate ugly echoes of earlier campaigns to boycott Jewish shops and produce.

So three cheers for Ms Johansson for taking a very public stand against this right-on pressure to treat Israel as the most evil nation on Earth.

BDS does nothing to help anyone. It’s just a toxic combination of anti-Semites, misguided useful idiots, academic propagandists, and humanitarian pretenders.

Don’t let them win. Buycott, Buycott, Buycott Israeli products.

Islam has certainly proved itself to be the Religion of Hate…
and violence, misogyny, rape, aggression, vengeance, intolerance, oppression, slavery….and all other human rights violations.

The good news is that anti-Semites cannot hide their true intentions. Groups that follow BDS tactics rarely try to dispute that claim, in fact. Even the useful idiot adherents or academic adherents feel no shame in behaving this way. Perhaps for some of them, it is a point of pride.

Don’t forget Wix — the self-building Israeli-based website service. I built a site with Wix. Great service.

Whenever I see the letters “BDS” it reminds me of “IBS”. Weird.

BDS, IBS, there are certain similarities, starting (but not ending) with sympathy for those suffering from them.

Since BDS has also been used for Bush Derangement Syndrome, sometimes it takes a few sentences to for me to see which is being talked about, though these days it’s usually the Boycott idiots. I would imagine though that there is a significant overlap between the two groups.

You can double your pleasure by buying a SodaStream do-dad (and other stuff) from the Prof.s’ Amazon thingy.

Not to be too technical…

On the news the other day it was reported that Scar Jo’s Super Bowl commercial got banned for being “too racy”… *cough* BULLSHIT *cough!!!

Gave her page a “like.” If I drank soda, I’d buy a SodaStream too. (Maybe I’ll buy one anyway, and give it to some soda drinker as a gift).

Use it to pipe club soda and tonic water.

Observer, I think they have added things such as tea, and flavored water…..

The flavorings are great to just add to a pitcher of water -no real need to carbonate it!

I will consider a boycott of Israel if all of the following conditions are met:
1. Muslims stop indulging in taqqiyah to non-Muslims.
2. Muslims stop killing people who reject Islam or who just want to practice their faith in peace.
3. All Islamic countries make reparations to their Jewish citizens who were forced to leave, penniless, after the Six Day War or any war in which the nascent Israeli nation whipped Arab arse.
4. All Islamic countries recognize the state of Israel.
5. All Islamic countries recognize Israel as a Jewish state.
6. The Muslims tear down their abomination of desolation standing on Temple Mount.
7. Hamas, Fatah, and every terrorist wannabe in Gaza, Judea, and Samaria reject and tear up their charters which call for the destruction of Israel.
8. Muslims stop engaging in terrorism, aka jihad for the sake of Allah.
9. Islamic countries produce something of their own, original and that is of value to the world. (Oil doesn’t qualify cos they had nothing to do with it.)
10. Muslims stop pretending to be victims of the people they are trying to slaughter.

If ALL of these conditions are met, then I am willing to CONSIDER, for about two seconds, boycotting Israel.

I’m eating the heck out of Sabra hummus, and I’m not really that fond of hummus.

There is another angle . Coca cola & Pepsi have donated at least $2.5million to Oxfam ( that we know of ) .plenty more could be funnelled globally .

Statistics show that popular bought carbonated sweet drinks are falling quite rapidly . Young people are turning to teas & fruit & energy drinks . Older people are looking at Spritzers ( lower sugar value .

Hence in at declining market the idea you can make your own boutique drinks is a further dampened .i have read an industry / advertising piece on who they should target . I would put the Oxfam thing in this category – they must think Oxfam = compassion . ( which it does not of course ) .

Personally I do like a can of zero when driving . If I buy carbonated drinks ( occasionally ) ) I look for low sugar , low price local brands. Yesterday I bought low sugar ginger beer. I looked into sodastream but I will have nowhere to put it as I took to the kitchen & dismantled it . In the future I might get a burst energy & replace it. I have a BBQ running water & a table . I got used to it.

Lotsa typos etc there but I find this BDS thing intelligence damaging . It hurts my brain to think of it .

A website I patronize is PizzaIDf.org. You buy pizzas, pop, doughnuts, and other seasonal foods from Israeli restaurants, and they deliver your order to IDF troops. Supporting two groups with one purchase!

I’m glad she’s not giving into the leftist bullies but I’m not ready to throw my support behind her just yet. She did pro-Obama ads in 2012 so she’s supports a very anti-Israel president while she takes money from an Israeli company. Another Hollywood phony.
