Yay! I love the Fireworks! 😀 Enjoy the celebrations, and remind yourself again why America is SO important, not just to us, but to the growth and freedom of all Mankind.

I for one am forever grateful… and perfectly willing to continue the struggle to set all mankind free!

Thank-you Professor, for both the Independence Day wishes and for all the great work you’ve done and are continuing to do, here.

The spirit of those men, who dropped a written bombshell on the head of the greatest empire since Rome, lives on in men and women like yourself. In your heart and soul, the DNA of Liberty, handed down through their words and shining example, not only lives, but thrives!

My hat is off to you, sir. And to the rest of you who man the barricades of truth and freedom.

Ooooo-rah!

Fireworks, huh? Here, they scare my dogs half to death. While they’re barking like crazy at the “pop pop” sounds.

A wonderful 4th to you! And, thank you so much for your excellent blog. And, the privilege you extend to all of us who comment.

By the way, I have very liberal friends who are gun owners. And, gun enthusiasts. This isn’t an isolated subject far off on one side of the right hand agenda. Our Contract with America belongs to all of us. And, it’s wonderful when this country comes together and celebrates.

There are no fireworks allowed this year where I live this year because of drought and fire concerns. Understandable.

We are going elsewhere to find some and enjoy a pleasant 4th of July.

BTW, the B & W Trini Lopez video yesterday was a hoot watching all those people dancing and making fools of themselves.

Perfect accompaniment for reading the tweets coming from Mr. Branca.

My July the 4th wish is for Mr. Zimmerman to gain his liberty from state tyranny.

Have a grand 4th Prof. Jacobson!!!!!!!!!

Happy July 4 to everyone from an Aussie with American relatives 🙂

The old readers remember it…

The young ones don’t?

😀

I heard strange noises last night, and thought someone might be stealing stuff out of my basement (which has an outside door). So like a GZ I grabbed my flashlight (and turned it on before I opened the front door to make sure it worked) and ventured outside…my neighbor was outside too…turns out that it was fireworks a few towns away. Sounded totally different outside, and obvious what it was and where it was coming from…but in the house it sounded like people moving stuff in my basement. Relevant for the indoor earwitnesses vs. outdoor eye/earwitnesses in the GZ trial. Apologies in advance for the GZ thread hijack. LOL

July 1 – Canada Independence Day
July 2 – my birthday, and the day I moved from Canada to the US when I was 2 years old
July 3 – Egypt Independence Day (as of yesterday)
July 4 – US Independence Day and the day my dad died in 2008

Calls for a drink, don’t you think?

I forgot to mention that July 2 is another date in my mind because it was the day I had my first consult with a surgeon to learn how he was going to cut out my breast cancer (2007). What a way to ruin a birthday!

We have the real thing around here. A little town nearby puts on a fireworks display that’s famous throughout the state and lasts for an hour.

So I’ll miss the fireworks here but I wish all the Insurrectionists a joyful Independence Day.

Happy Birthday, America. And thank you, Professor. Long may you rave.

Is this an open open thread or just 4th of July open thread? all I’m thinking about is the trial. Has anyone noticed that in the pictures of Trayvon Martin’s body his fists are still clenched?

Darn fireworks, way too loud. Besides, while the music is great, please allow us to select what we hear. Personally, I like Buddy Holly or Benny Goodman or The Beach Boys.

Where’s the Boston Pops Orchestra 4th of July performance this year?
