Feds want Zimmerman, any way they can get him

Feds want Zimmerman, any way they can get him

This no longer is about George Zimmerman, it’s about a Department of Justice serving political interests.

There’s a reason we stand up for the rights of individuals like George Zimmerman against an overreaching State.

It’s not just about the individual.  It’s about all of us, and the reality that there but for fortune could go you or I.

The highly politicized Department of Justice desperately wants to bring federal charges to placate the race-agitators, and has joined in the witch hunt.

Via The Orlando Sentinel, DOJ solicits email tips in Zimmerman civil rights probe (h/t readers and commenters):

The U.S. Department of Justice on Monday afternoon appealed to civil rights groups and community leaders, nationally and in Sanford, for help investigating whether a federal criminal case might be brought against George Zimmerman for the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, one advocate said.

The DOJ has also set up a public email address to take in tips on its civil rights investigation.

Barbara Arnwine, president and executive director the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law – who earlier in the day joined calls for federal civil rights charges against Zimmerman, said that later in the afternoon, she joined a U.S. Department of Justice conference call to discuss the prospects.

“They were calling on us to actively refer anyone who had any information,” that might build a case against Zimmerman for either a civil rights violation or a hate crime, Arnwine said. “They said they would very aggressively investigate this case.”

Arnwine said the call was convened at about 3:30 p.m. by Tom Perez, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice, and included representatives from the FBI, and several federal prosecutors, she said. DOJ officials also said they would open a public email address so people could send in tips on the case.

That email address, which is now in operation, is [email protected].

In addition to Arnwine’s group, Sherrilyn Ifill, President and Director-Counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund; Laura Murphy, Washington Chapter head of the ACLU; and several national, Florida and Sanford-based “human relations” groups participated, Arnwine said.

During the call, DOJ officials announced they had set up a way for people to send email tips that could help aid in their investigation. The email address will be operational later this week.

This no longer is about George Zimmerman.

It’s about a Department of Justice which does not deserve our trust and is a threat to our liberties.

Update:  Hey, call me old-fashioned.  I don’t think the government should be in the business of identifying political targets first, trying to figure out if a crime was committed second.  In an era in which everyone is guilty of something, this is a prescription for prosecutorial tyranny, as Prof. Glenn Reynold wrote in Ham Sandwich Nation: Due Process When Everything is a Crime.  See also my prior post, Racialized prosecutorial indiscretion in the Zimmerman case.

Oh come on. Does this ever end? Sadly, I think it might just end with Zimmerman’s untimely demise, either through a heart attack of a lynching. This constant campaign is truly awful and reminds me of Richard Jewell.

Chuckin Houston | July 16, 2013 at 7:10 pm

Tom Perez is heading up this crap. What a surprize!

On Command…fix bayonets

Richard Jewell died prematurely by the way. I think of the mob of villagers in the Frankenstein movie. There is a lynch mob mentality out there and DOJ should be tamping the mob down.

Holder won’t smack down any mob the is giving him a crisis he has no intention of letting go to waste. This is ‘Rules for Radicals” come to life!

IT’s not going to go anywhere. Zimmerman has a black great-grandfather.
And White House, according to reports, is distancing itself from the case as of today.

I can’t tell if your comment was sublime sarcasm or wishful thinking, but I’ll tell you what I saw today. I saw Don Corleone send Luca Brazzi out for a hit. You can probably assign the characters yourself, and hopefully identify the intended victim of the massacre.

White House “distancing itself” from this. You just don’t get it, do you?

Didn’t you think it mighty “queer” (in the original meaning of that word) that the media sat on Paula Dean’s comments for so long.

But then trotted them out exactly at the beginning of the Zimmerman trial???????

Not a coincidence -in my opinion!

The beginning of the end of this insanity begins in 2014.

I just sent an email to that address expressing how disgraceful their witch hunt is.

Though, on further reflection, maybe I should have instead called it a lynch mob mentality.

    I will too.
    This is evil. Black McCarthyism.
I suggest a chain letter petition, everyone sending to 10 people, who do the same, forwarding it to the email address, expressing their displeasure.
My inclination now, angry as I am, is to lace it with profanity.
Any cooler head have suggestions how to word it?

Really, sitting quietly and doing nothing is a bad idea. I cannot remember in my lifetime the government of this country ganging up on a single individual like this.

So the first black Attorney General is organizing a lynch mob? I didn’t see that coming, but there’s no end to the surprises from this administration.

If you haven’t watched Holder’s speech at the NAACP, please take the time to do so. The actual message he, in fact, delivers, is chilling.

At the risk of hyperbole, it was a call to arms…

Miles in reply to Fabi. | July 16, 2013 at 8:01 pm

    It isn’t just anti-Zimmerman, or race-baiting alone.

Zimmerman is merely being used as a vehicle against the ‘stand your ground laws’ (which I was non-plussed , until Holder’s remarks today, why it was being brought up by the prosecution and others on the anti-Zimmerman side since the defense was always simple ‘self defense’.

I believe the combined DAs/PAs of assorted states literally hate these laws since it restricts their discretionary power to overcharge people for murder and get plea bargains on lesser charges so they can expend less effort while they draw their pay.

Also the civil lawyers who rake in huge contingency fees from wrongful death suits after people accept plea bargains.

A “call to arms” for those who are scared of said “arms”?

    Yeah – that’s gonna work….

DOJ will have little problem digging up sufficient information from NSAs system to eventually hang him.

Of, of course they’d never do that?

Not to shift gears too far, perhaps we should get back to Snowden’s real issue of government over reach. They’ve since demonized him and probably cornered him into releasing things none of us would like to see out there.

Just how many “wake up” calls do we need? Wasn’t this no longer about justice after the New Black Panther Party investigation in Philly was dropped?

Question for the Professor. Holder said today that “{Stand Your Ground} laws try to fix something that was never broken…The list of resulting tragedies is long and, unfortunately, has victimized too many who are innocent.” Where’s this list? What tragedies have resulted? (Asking both seriously and rhetorically)

I’m not the good Professor, but Holder’s statement is an outright and abject LIE. The system WAS broken, and this is how Stand Your Ground laws is attempting to FIX it.

Stand Your Ground laws were implemented in order to shield those who actually DID defend themselves, and were then sued by those individuals whom against they had TO defend themselves. Here’s the scenario:

Mugger or Rapist approaches concealed carry armed individual, usually in the home invasion scenario. Mugger attempts to mug said individual. Said individual pulls his/her weapon, discharges it wounding, but not killing mugger and holding that mugger at gunpoint until police arrive.

Mugger then sues individual under CIVIL law for using lethal force against mugger, when individual had an avenue for “retreat” available, no matter how dangerous that avenue of retreat might be, so long as it was not obviously lethal for the individual. Civil Burden (preponderance) is low enough that Mugger only has to prove that there WAS an avenue of escape for individual to win. Mugger is not limited to mere “physical” damages, but is also entitled to “pain and suffering” damages, because he was “injured” by what was determined to be a tortious act (battery upon the Mugger). Reasonableness, nor self defense, of the individual’s shooting the mugger is not taken into account, because common law battery only requires “any unlawful touching of the person of another by the aggressor himself, or by a substance put in motion by him (aka the bullet).” The “unlawful act was usually the “discharge of a firearm within city limits” which created an immediate “presumption” of “unlawful action” and thus the predicate for civil liability.

The original standard was thought to be “so long as you could retreat ‘safely'” but that was undone in case after case where the mugger sued and won with more and more bizarre “avenues of escape” available to the individual, and specifically in districts where the Judiciary was actively hostile to firearm ownership (Detroit, Chicago, NYC, W-DC, etc…). Avenues like jumping out of a second story window, or screaming for help (with no guarantee that anybody will come to help you).

In fact, it got SO bad in Detroit, that a group was formed to specifically amend the Constitution of Michigan to make Concealed Carry a State Constitutional Right (the Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gun Owners: MCRGO). They then amended the state’s laws, implementing the “Castle Doctrine” where if you were going to suffer Death, Great Bodily Harm or Rape, you were PRESUMED to be acting in self defense, and were then made immune to Civil Suit for defending yourself. That was almost 15 years ago now, and the homicide, as well as almost all violent crime rates in Detroit, and Michigan in general, have dropped DRAMATICALLY, because the perpetrators realized that they never knew who might be armed and shoot them.

stevewhitemd in reply to Chuck Skinner. | July 16, 2013 at 8:37 pm

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn wrote about this in the Gulag Archipelago. In the Soviet Union it was known as the “law of seven-tenths”: the joke was that you had to be seven-tenths dead before you could defend yourself from a criminal.

The criminal, by the way, was classified as ‘socially friendly’ by the State, and thus was usually incarcerated for crimes for a short duration and with relative leniency. Whereas someone arrested by the NKVD, etc was classified as ‘socially hostile’ and thus had the strictest sentence and harshest treatment.

More and more I recognize that Mr. Solzhenitsyn, like Mr. Orwell, could see the future…

Wow.

This is scary stuff, and there seems to be no way to stop it.

txantimedia in reply to DKlein. | July 16, 2013 at 7:48 pm

I’ll tell you how you stop it. You inundate your Congressperson and Senators’ offices with complaints and demand that they investigate the DOJ. Demand that they put Holder on the hot seat and consider impeaching him if he continues with the witch hunt.

Otherwise the scurrilous Republicans will cower in the shadows and Zimmerman will be destroyed even more than he already is.

His defense fund needs to be flooded with donations from across the country. This needs to be a call to arms for all decent Americans, regardless of race, color or creed. We the people must exert our power and put a stop to it before it destroys the country even more than it’s already being destroyed.

dieselhead in reply to DKlein. | July 16, 2013 at 9:14 pm

Oh yes there is! It’s too bad they have you and a lot of other people thinking like you do. Congress should be starting impeachment proceedings right no against Holder for violating his oath to uphold the Constitution.

Black Racists-in-Charge, is the order of the day and everyday, since this administration has come into existence.

Ain’t that correct barry?

And we all know, that Z’Man is way more important then/than (pick one) …

Any of this stuff!

Gasoline (Petrol, just in case..lol) jumped 20 cents a gallon, over the past couple of days. I do NOT give two shits, as to what the Green Commies say, think, or protest. THEY aren’t the ones, that need jobs desperately and more then likely, could give a damn what gasoline prices are?

When will ANYONE in D.C. RIP the IRS a new asshole, or END the IRS?

When will anyone in D.C. dictate to the NSA..DON’T SPY ON AMERICANS, UNLESS THERE IS A GODDAMN GOOD REASON TO DO SO?

When will anyone in D.C. FINALLY END, barrycare?

When will answers be forthcoming, concerning EVERYTHING this administration has done, to completely turn the Middle East upside down?

When will someone answer why an American ambassador and his staff, were left to DIE?

When will eric holder be driven from office for his “wink, wink” AND complete lack of concern, of Fast and Furious?

When will eric holder STOP trying to find something to convict George Zimmerman and concentrate on trying to convict BLACK on BLACK MURDERERS, and assorted OTHER BLACK on BLACK CRIMES, in damn near EVERY U.S. Metro area?

If I were Zimmerman I’d be considering two, polar opposite options.

One would be to move. Leave the country. America is no longer the country we knew. It just isn’t. Aside from the threat to my life in living here, what would be my job prospects ever again? Who woud hire me? Would schools ever accept me? Leave and build another life — provided this is even possible anywhere anymore.

The other option would be to declare war on these people. Hold a press conference and announce my dedication to confront these people in every public forum possible. Sue them all. Bury them in lawsuits. Write a book. Make a documentary. Call out Obama, Holder, the media – all of them, every day. Start a non-profit aimed at exposing media lies and slanders. Rally the people to the rights of the individual. Create a daily holy hell for these Stalinists and savages.

David Dennis in reply to raven. | July 16, 2013 at 8:08 pm

I would think he could do quite well with a book. And movie rights. And so on.

I think people are a little over-pessimistic about his career prospects, though. Surely he has made a few friends through this as well as enemies? I mean, look at all of us rooting for him. Surely one of us with the ability to hire people could find something for him to do?

After all, the irony of this is that he used decent judgement. He thought Martin was up to no good; the preponderance of the evidence indicates he probably was. He was attacked, unprovoked. He held his fire until he was in imminent physical danger. None of that sounds like bad judgement, and in any event he has no doubt learned from the mistakes he did make.

Heck, if people like the Kardashians can become wealthy just for being well known, maybe Zimmerman can be, too.

    D

raven in reply to David Dennis. | July 16, 2013 at 8:54 pm

Good points, and I agree that he does have a large mass of support in America. How this translates into professional prospects however boils down to the reality of an employer willing to take on the risks of public opprobrium, boycotts, and DOJ and other federal harassments probably far more likely in this case than we’ve already seen with mere conservatives and Tea Party members. The government has may have already reached the point of no return with their investment in Zimmerman’s destruction. This is not about just Zimmerman anymore, but in the idea of individual empowerment and the State’s power to terrorize us into submission. So I am pessimistic about Zimmerman’s prospects.

I think he has greater prospects — at least in theory as a I don’t know him personally — as a culture warrior. Can someone explain why he can’t call a press conference tomorrow (guaranteed to attract every major media outlet in America) and openly discuss what the DOJ is doing, who Tom Perez is and his past, review the pattern of interference and agitation the feds have already demonstrated with his prosecution, raise an alarm about this administration and invoke the spirit of justice and fairness in the country? It would be dramatic beyond words. Zimmerman is, right now, a figure of enormous power and influence — if he knew how to use it. He may even have the power alone to take down Obama. That’s the wonderful paradox of his plight.

In any case, just trying to live a simple middle-class life, to stay out of trouble, etc., is not going to happen. They’ve declared war on him. In my view, he should remove himself completely from the sphere of conflict, or immerse himself in the war.

George can not go to a job, or the park, or store, or any where without a disguise. Not now, not ever. He will live his life in this country looking at every new face he sees, wondering if THIS is the one that will put a bullet in his head.

He and his family will be very wealthy when all is said and done. He and his family are fluently bilingual and present as Hispanics. These 2 factors are more precious than silver and gold for them. This gives them very viable options Re: relocation, security, and a chance for good, happy, safe lives outside of the US.

I hear Peru is really nice this time of year. The kind of place where someone can make a new start… Kind of like the USA of old.

I know a guy who sent them the following email:

I have information that Mr. Zimmerman was involved in selling illegal guns to Mexican Nationals. Hit me back. This is big. Muy grande.

Sincerely,

I can just see it now….some 2-bit slime ball in cell 3452 comes crawling out wanting to make a deal. He remembers in high school when some 17 year old black kid stole George’s black girlfriend and George said, “Someday I’ll get even”.

Slam dunk!

Holder’s affidavit to federal grand jury: We have it on impeccable authority that George Zimmerman has been boiling inside with revenge for 12 years.

Have they offered a reward for incriminating information? Reduced sentence. IRS forgiveness? Use of Air Force One for a week? Tsarship? Ambassadorship?

Well, it looks like the end game is approaching. “The Community” has started its push to turn the US into a Stalinist version of Zimbabwe. How long will it be before they do to anyone who doesn’t support The Party what they’re doing now to Zimmerman?

To paraphrase Isoroku Yamamoto – I’m glad all they’ve done in this case is awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.

[…] As you may have heard, even though we had a trial and a verdict was rendered, the left is pushing the government to prosecute George Zimmerman and so far it looks like the DOJ is listening. […]

Absolutely chilling when the USA encourages citizens to inform on their fellow comrades- uh… citizens for not subscribing to the correct party doctrine…

While many on the left may try to argue the e-mail address is no different than a tip line, or a plea not unlike America’s most wanted, the supposed crime (hate) is not like any other crime. The only evidence the DOJ is hoping to gather is exclusively opinion and/or hearsay. How is GZ going to prove his innocence if 50,000 ppl. say they heard him say nigga at any point in time in his life. Sure, at great expense to his legal team they can show particular ppl. are lying, but what if several dozen ppl say they walked into the mortgage firm where GZ worked and proclaim, “he said we don’t give loans to ppl like you.”

And let’s cease and desist these ‘many on the left’ generalizations. This is coming from a narrow band of Black leftists. Don’t forget the first person of prominence to speak out against Holder and his puppet special prosecutor was Alan Dershowitz, a liberal with strong anti gun convictions. And Dershowitz continued to do so yesterday, on Hannety’s show .

What’s going on now is going to require a coalition of support from the full political spectrum. But big shot Conservative and Republican politicians are despicably silent on what’s happening to Zimmerman. You should be directing some venom at their chicken-hearted asses for remaining silent.

      Jazzizhep in reply to jayjerome66. | July 16, 2013 at 9:44 pm

Seriously? DO I need to post links to dozens upon dozens of quotes and essays and comments and blogs where non-black liberals are screaming for “Justice for Trayvon” after the trial. Alan Dershowitz is a discordant voice in the liberal community, as is other lawyers on the left due to their knowledge of law, but they are an extreme minority.

As for Republicans, what the hell are they supposed to say that will not get them tarred and feathered by the MSM. There are some black repubs who could speak and have; the left can’t call them names they haven’t heard (Uncle Tom, Oreo etc…). If a repub speaks up, it will not be just MSNBC and CNN, it will be late night talk show hosts, Sunday talk shows, PBS, NPR, evening news, and you can bet that the new fall season will have plenty of references of the racist repub coming to the aid of the racist white hispanic. Are you truly that ignorant as to believe any repub could get away with challenging the narrative of Reid, Holder, MSM, and the savior. Really? Really?

What do you bet me that the NSA is reviewing every last bit of information they have on George Zimmerman. . . . and Don West. . . .and Mark O’Mara?????

Leave George alone or we will buy him a ticket to Moscow (transit zone), along with a generous care package for Snowden 😉

That definitely gets us on the lists..

‘Not about GZ any more’ ? It was NEVER about GZ. It was about satiating the left wing race mongers, targetting ‘stand your ground ‘laws, targeting guns in general, and the rest of the list, from the very beginning.

How much do you want to bet the FBI is conducting a whole new ‘investigation’ right now, with ‘tools’ like the topic of this article, with instructions From Holder / Perez (aka Team O) ‘nail this fucking asshole punk to the wall’ ?

Could you IMAGINE the result if GZ actually was even the tiniest bit ‘racist’? If they had one single person saying ‘I think maybe I heard him say the N word 8 years ago once but I don’t know if it was him, but he had a friend who used it sometimes’ ?

It seems to me that GZ should be able to take some legal action in Federal Court against the DOJ to have them stop this – this is clearly harassment and probably a violation of his Civil Rights, let alone his Constitutional Rights.

The State of Florida violated Zimmerman’s civil rights with a criminal case that should never have been brought to trial. Now the full weight of the Federal Government is going to focus of denying him his rights.

Kudos to the commenter above who says that our first black Attorney General is organizing a lynching.

As I said in the other thread, the AUSAs will bring a case on some obscure federal statute no one ever heard of, or some BS mail fraud claim. The US Code and agency regulations are all so ambiguous, they will find something. Maybe a law that says you can’t be named Zimmerman on Saturday and receive an acquittal. When people in the US government get a hard on for you, they will find some ambiguity and make it fit your situation.

1) Give generously to the Zimmerman Defense Fund. He’s going to need it.
2) Send an email every day to the DOJ address. Copy and paste a large document into the email, and then attach the document to the email as well. Force them to spend funds just processing the influx of mail.
3) Contact your Representative and Senators and ask them to introduce legislation specifically prohibiting the DOJ from spending money prosecuting the Zimmerman case.
4) Talk to everyone you know and explain to them how dangerous a precedent this sets and how they could be exploited the same way some time in the future.
5) Demand that your Representative and Senator commit to stopping this. If they refuse, make it clear that you will work tirelessly to have them thrown out of office.
6) Give money to any group that pledges to fight this at every level possible.

If you can think of more, add to the list.

Reprehensible behavior by despicable ‘racial tensions’ arsonists. It is disgusting beyond belief. The inmates have truly taken over the asylum.

So, the DOJ is looking for dirt on Zimmerman?

Ok, here’s what I’ve just sent them.

To the best of my knowledge George Zimmerman does not have an alibi for the night Jimmy Hoffa disappeared.

Among all the outrages in this case, this may be the worst. The DOJ can ask American citizens for dirt on another American citizen who has been acquitted of any crime? Is any Republican going to out this in public?

Barack Obama, Eric Holder, and their dupes in congress, the administration, and the professions have successfully divided the country into identity groups, provided each with a set of grievances, and are in the process of turning them (us) against one another. They are bringing the country to the brink. If congress – the House – doesn’t drop everything it is doing, EVERYTHING, and put an end to this NOW, tomorrow, our legal system will be gone. The Obama administration has reduced our laws to a minor inconvenience, able to be ignored at will, and brought much of the Federal government and many states such as NY, CA, and IL along with it. The administration has convinced its rabble not to riot in exchange for use of the law as a bludgeon on their supposed oppressors. I do not know how to stop this, but someone (besides the Professor) needs to do something big. Tomorrow.

This has been generations in the making and will not be undone easily. The experience for those who wish to “live in interesting times” is just beginning.

I looked up “disingenuous” in the dictionary and there was Holder’s picture

Quotes and Excerpts from Rules for Radicals

By Saul Alinsky – 1971

Background information

“Obama learned his lesson well. I am proud to see that my father’s model for organizing is being applied successfully beyond local community organizing to affect the Democratic campaign in 2008. It is a fine tribute to Saul Alinsky as we approach his 100th birthday.” –Letter from L. DAVID ALINSKY, son of Neo-Marxist Saul Alinsky

Obama helped fund ‘Alinsky Academy’: “The Woods Fund, a nonprofit on which Obama served as paid director from 1999 to December 2002, provided startup funding and later capital to the Midwest Academy…. Obama sat on the Woods Fund board alongside William Ayers, founder of the Weather Underground domestic terrorist organization…. ‘Midwest describes itself as ‘one of the nation’s oldest and best-known schools for community organizations, citizen organizations and individuals committed to progressive social change.’… Midwest teaches Alinsky tactics of community organizing.”

Hillary, Obama and the Cult of Alinsky: “True revolutionaries do not flaunt their radicalism, Alinsky taught. They cut their hair, put on suits and infiltrate the system from within. Alinsky viewed revolution as a slow, patient process. The trick was to penetrate existing institutions such as churches, unions and political parties…. Many leftists view Hillary as a sell-out because she claims to hold moderate views on some issues. However, Hillary is simply following Alinsky’s counsel to do and say whatever it takes to gain power.

“Obama is also an Alinskyite…. Obama spent years teaching workshops on the Alinsky method. In 1985 he began a four-year stint as a community organizer in Chicago, working for an Alinskyite group called the Developing Communities Project…. Camouflage is key to Alinsky-style organizing. While trying to build coalitions of black churches in Chicago, Obama caught flak for not attending church himself. He became an instant churchgoer.” (By Richard Poe, 11-27-07)

Tactics:

“Tactics are those conscious deliberate acts by which human beings live with each other and deal with the world around them. … Here our concern is with the tactic of taking; how the Have-Nots can take power away from the Haves.” p.126

Always remember the first rule of power tactics (pps.127-134):

1. “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.”

2. “Never go outside the expertise of your people. When an action or tactic is outside the experience of the people, the result is confusion, fear and retreat…. [and] the collapse of communication.

3. “Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy. Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty. (This happens all the time. Watch how many organizations under attack are blind-sided by seemingly irrelevant arguments that they are then forced to address.)

4. “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules. You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity.”

5. “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counteract ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.”

6. “A good tactic is one your people enjoy.”

7. “A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag. Man can sustain militant interest in any issue for only a limited time….”

8. “Keep the pressure on, with different tactics and actions, and utilize all events of the period for your purpose.”

9. “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.”

10. “The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition. It is this unceasing pressure that results in the reactions from the opposition that are essential for the success of the campaign.”

11. “If you push a negative hard and deep enough, it will break through into its counterside… every positive has its negative.”

12. “The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.”

13. Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. In conflict tactics there are certain rules that [should be regarded] as universalities. One is that the opposition must be singled out as the target and ‘frozen.’…
“…any target can always say, ‘Why do you center on me when there are others to blame as well?’ When your ‘freeze the target,’ you disregard these [rational but distracting] arguments…. Then, as you zero in and freeze your target and carry out your attack, all the ‘others’ come out of the woodwork very soon. They become visible by their support of the target…’

“One acts decisively only in the conviction that all the angels are on one side and all the devils on the other.” (pps.127-134)

      See Tactic #5..

There is a God’s plenty TO ridicule. All that needs to be done IS, keep on smashing the ‘ridicule’ button.

“it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.”

Their reaction(s)(barry/holder)would be along the lines of:

Fast and Furious? ‘Never heard about it’!

Gas prices? ‘We still not gonna’ be doin’ Keystone’!

Immigration? ‘More votes for US in 2016, them Brown folk don’t care what happens to a “white Hispanic”!

And on and on, which will lead to increased opportunity, to keep beating that “ridicule button”..

It’s a threat to Ed Snowden, as well. Yesterday, over at REDDDIT, I saw that someone who can (an academic type), has requested Ed Snowden be considered for the Nobel Prize.

Today, someone posted at REDDIT, it Snowden win the Nobel Peace Prize, he’d pay good money to go to watch the ceremony.

I actually think the bad guys in DC have come out of hiding. Agencies that have been bereft of American values … do you hear me CIA? Are gonna find out what happens when their mistakes, and war against citizens, comes full tilt out of hiding.

Can we call that hotline and report the dumbass in the White House for serial civil rights violations?

I think I saw George Zimmerman at one of the Tea Party Rallies. I’m sure they’ll want to know about that – could be an IRS violation in there, as well.

I see the Justice Department is taking cues from Salem cira 1692.

So glad you are featuring this story.

Once we, as a country, start going down this path it ends in totalitarianism.

We’re halfway there already.

If the DOJ and POS can do this to Zimmerman, he can do the same to any of us.

Reichs Minister of Injustice, Erich Heydrich Holder has just notified the volkische citizenry off the Reich Protectorate State of Florid-ostland, that all politically reliable members of the party are commanded to report any and all crimes, real or imagined, committed by the Jew(oops! make that white Hispanic) Zimmerman.
We do not recognize and will not tolerate self defense against any action, no matter how heinous, committed by members of OUR RACE.
Ein Reich! Ein Race! Ein Fuhrer!

I wish that there was someone to put a rein on Holder, stop this witch hunt. So concerned about the Zimmermans’ well being. All of them are having problems with this. Looks kind of like Holder is starting a race war.

Read this from Conservative Treehouse:

“It’s Come To This – The Federal Dept. of Justice asking for Tips to Help Prosecute George Zimmerman – DOJ/CRS Sets Up Email National Hotline
Posted on July 16, 2013 by sundance

This is just unbelievable. This administration WANTS full blown race warfare. There is no other reason for setting up a national hotline for people to email in tips to aid in the prosecution of George Zimmerman. Keep in mind the name on this Orlando Sentinel report. Dept of Justice, Civil Rights Division, Department of Community Relations, TOM PEREZ. The same Tom Perez President Obama nominated for Labor Secretary. (more after article)…

See rest of article here:

Here’s the deal with the Holder thing. If no one can think of anything racist on Zimmerman, then someone will just make it up.

People, it’s understandable that you are upset but be careful not to provide false information to law enforcement. You could be hurting yourself needlessly. There are plenty of legal and effective ways to express your disapproval.

I can’t stand Hannity but caught some of that in the car. I had to turn it off, it was that brutal

Baker in reply to Daryle. | July 17, 2013 at 3:22 am

Juan Williams needs a good ass kicking on this issue. I find him out in left field on some issues but I often listen to him and give him the benefit of the doubt that at least he is being honest in his assessments though I might disagree with his conclusion. Nothing wrong with that. It is more in the line with a debate where people have different positions.

In the Zimmerman case though he is completely off the wall. He says he honors the trial, the legal process, and the jury’s decision but that is not enough because there has to be Justice for Treyvon.

But the worst thing is he spouts of a rendition of the case that I swear was the mobs position in March 2012 when there was limited information in the public. The only update he has is ‘Zimmerman was told to stay in the car’. It is as if he has heard or learned nothing else about the case since then. He “knows” now GZ followed after he was told not to then confronted Treyvon and a fight broke out and GZ shot him. And he knows Zimmerman trained in MMA. I’m sure he knows that because usually mentions it twice. That’s sort of new information so maybe he has changed his story a little since since March 2012. I’ve heard him repeat all this several times almost verbatim.

I almost forgot a couple of other things he knows for sure. TM was a young innocent boy without a gun and Zimmerman had one. And I think he knows TM went to a store to buy some skittles but I’m not sure about that.

Every time I hear him rattle off that BS story I want to go Treyvon on his ass and punch him in the face.

[…] ENEMY OF THE STATE: Prof. Jacobson: Feds want Zimmerman, any way they can get him — This no longer is about George… […]

This is a game, and we are playing into it if we respond to the bait.. This ploy about firing up their base only works if we allow them to once again become rabid in responding.. The base will only get their kicks if we show the anticipated outrage..

No one is more outraged than I am but I’ve watched these guys work since I grew up in Chicago.. We are as important to the planners as their base in fanning the flambes of distraction..

When the public, and the opposition, meaning us, don’t play/respond, the games fizzle out, as will the fun, which is all important to the agitators..

Crawford in reply to IplayalawyeronTV. | July 16, 2013 at 9:57 pm

Your tactics have worked WONDERFULLY in Chicago.

Sorry Crawford to tell you this, but the remain in power without opposition for 70 years in-spite of the carnage.. I’m not saying that they will stop killing and pillaging, that won’t change because they are feral animals..

What will not happen is the enthusiasm of the more common folk in the community.. Without Oblameus, they need a new reason to stir up the voters.. If they get the message that it is all of us against all of them, they will vote,.. often!

And, again, your tactics have accomplished NOTHING in Chicago. Wait, no — it’s allowed them to control not just the city, but the entire state. And to use that to catapult Obama into the presidency.

Non-confrontation doesn’t work with tyrants. “Nice doggie” doesn’t work with barbarians. “Don’t rile them up” is just a slower form of surrender.

Fabi in reply to Crawford. | July 16, 2013 at 11:24 pm

Perfect example tonight: Greta was sparring with Daryl Parks. She was correct on facts, yet he wouldn’t yield an inch in spite of the facts. Bob, weave, rope-a-dope. Misdirection, lies, ad infinitum.

Therefore, you’re left attempting to reason with a rhetorical terrorist. Ugh.

        jayjerome66 in reply to IplayalawyeronTV. | July 16, 2013 at 11:11 pm

I have to agree with Crawford on this one.
I think the time has come to stand up and be heard.
The false narrative is continuing, unabated..
And you know the adage a lie often repeated becomes accepted as truth.
Time to counteract the Holder BS.

Gave them a long list of tips:

First, an arm of the federal government sent agents to organize demonstrations to force an arrest. Then the prosecutors who had responsibility for the case were over-ruled and an affidavit containing multiple false statements was filed to secure an arrest and trial. The prosecution improperly handled witnesses, interviewing them outside the presence of law enforcement and in the presence of family members of the supposed victim. When the public offered its support of the defendant, the prosecutors filed a false affidavit accusing his wife of perjury.

On the eve of the trial, a whistleblower revealed that the prosecutors were withholding evidence from the defense, and even after the trial the prosecutors have behaved in a shameful manner, seemingly more intent on riling up a lynch mob than in serving justice.

Given the violence that has occurred around the country as a result of these actions, it is imperative that these abuses not be permitted. The prosecution team MUST be brought to justice! We cannot let their abuses become acceptable in American courts!

I am beginning to honestly believe – we are OVER as a nation.

How the DOJ:

After an ALREADY CONCLUDED FBI INVESTIGATION that determined ZERO RACIAL MOTIVATION;

After a man WHO GAVE SELFLESSLY IN VOLUNTEER WORK for the black community;

Can STOOP SO LOW as to open a RUMOR HOTLINE – in an attempt to gather (cough cough) evidence to file a CIVIL RIGHTS CASE AGAINST GEORGE ZIMMERMAN,

It indicates to me that – IT’S OVER FOR AMERICA.

THE DOJ and WH are doing NOTHING SHORT OF INCITING RACE WAR.

This have been “calm” post-verdict (relatively speaking) – but I can ONLY IMAGINE what’s going to happen post-NAACP-convention – when the “representatives of the black community”, return to their respective communities – with “marching orders” from the BGI – and the FULL SUPPORT OF THE DEPT OF JUSTICE AND THE EXECUTIVE.

This is like a REALLY BAD SCI-FI CHANNEL MOVIE…

I am SHOCKED BEYOND WORDS, and SADDENED BEYOND TEARS…

Regards…

This is also a violation of Zimmerman’s civil rights and the White House “claims” that if any petition gets at least 100,000 sigs it has to be dealt with. Let’s Alinsky Obama!!!!!!!!!!!

I just sent in a tip:

To Whom It May Concern,

I understand that you’re looking for information revealing profiling behavior in the Martin/Zimmerman case.

I would refer you to the testimony of Rachel Jeantel, where she indicated that Martin was referring to a “creepy ass cracka” which, according to her testimony and to an interview with Piers Morgan, is a derogatory reference to a homosexual. That profiling could well be what caused Martin to lay in wait and attack Mr. Zimmerman, breaking his nose and knocking him to the pavement where he told Zimmerman that he was “going to die” and began smashing his head into the pavement.

Such homophobic behavior is intolerable and should be investigated. Where did Mr. Martin learn that sort of behavior? What can be done to stop that sort of behavior in young people like Mr. Martin?

Thank you for investigating this unacceptable behavior and for searching for the root cause of this prejudice that led to him profiling Mr. Zimmerman.

Great letter, Michael. This evening I sent a letter to my representative asking as eagle suggested to introduce legislation preventing the DOJ inquiry. Tomorrow, I’m sending letters to our senators.

They have overstepped. Wait for the backlash. It will be huge, and coming from places they never expected.

The more I think about it, this is just a very convenient and useful distraction for Obama & Holder. Attention paid to this is attention not paid to IRS, Benghazi, etc. Doubt they’ll be able to pull anything off against GZ & make it stick, but they can drag this ‘squirrel’ out a long time.

This is the first truly anti-American administration in our history. Under this regime, people are to be judged by the color of their skin, not the content of their character. Judged ‘good’ if anything but white, ‘bad’ if the latter. To paraphrase MO, for the first time in my life I’m ashamed to be an American. Ashamed that we’ve allowed such morally bankrupt individuals to attain power.

They say squat about the crimes currently being committed all over the country ‘in Trayvon’s name’ and fan the flames of hatred organizing the lynching of a man guilty of nothing but trying to help his community and defend himself when attacked. The ‘wanna-be cop’ is demonized while the ‘wanna-be thug’ is sainted. That’s where ‘Hope & Change’ has taken us. If the next two election cycles fail to end this madness, I will cry to the grave for the future of my grandchildren.

[…] Via Legal Insurrection comes word that the Department of Justice has begun a campaign soliciting tips from the general public in an attempt to build a case for civil rights violations against George Zimmerman. […]

Holder/Obama’s rubber justice is KKK justice. Congratulations. One hell of an achievement.

Gee… I never imagined we’d have a Department of Justice that would set up a public lynching of a US Citizen in order to pander to the President’s voters. Thanks a lot, Barack.

Hi Prof Jacobson, you and your readers might find this article interesting from the excellent Daniel Greenfield who writes “George Zimmerman Wasn’t on Trial – We Were”

Daniel points out “The left isn’t just out to indict George Zimmerman. It’s out to indict all of us. It isn’t just out to lock up George Zimmerman. It’s out to lock up all of us. The prison in which it intends to lock us up is big. It’s a 3.794 million square-mile prison for 314 million prisoners. The prison that they are building is meant to cover a country that used to be known as the United States.”

If they do it, it would be Article of Impeachment IV — political trials and using the power of the state for narrow political aims.

The first 3 are: IRS used to political ends; rampant wiretapping and gross violations of the people’s right to privacy; and faithlessness in executing the laws.

The whole notion of ‘criminal civil rights violation’ aka ‘hate crime’ is repugnant to legal ethics.

The question of Zimm’s racial attitudes is irrelevant. I don’t care if he’s the Grand Dragon of all Florida–what difference does any of that make to a case of self-defense?

Personally, I blame Christianity. Ronald Runcie, the Iron Lady’s Archbishop of Canterbury, once famously remarked that ‘socialism is a Christian heresy.’

And here we see socialist legalism on full parade- with Zimm as Goldstein, guilty of a ‘thought crime’ as justified by no less than Jesus himself, when he said that to think of adultery is equivalent to adultery itself.

Utter nonsense, but now we find ourselves on the verge of prosecutions not for crimes, but for merely, maybe, thinking about them.

I read the first part of your disgusting rant and clicked the wrong thumb. It should be a thumbs down for that disgusting diatribe.

Surely, these must be some of those infamous “rogue” elements that pop-up from time to time in this Administration .. like in Cincinnati.

It’s becoming clearer and clearer that Trayvon Martin jumped and attacked George Zimmerman because when Martin saw Zimmerman slow down in his car, then pull ahead and park, he thought a gay man, i.e. an “ass-cracker”, was scoping him — and thought that he’d give the ass-cracker a good whupping.

That’s not racial, and it’s about an unprovoked anti-homosexual attack.

Dear Senator Sessions:

Please use the power of your office to limit or prevent the political prosecution by Attorney General Eric Holder, regarding George Zimmerman of Sanford, Florida. Mr. Zimmerman was found not guilty in a court of law, and this subsequent Federal civil rights investigation by the Department of Justice is not only in contravention to the evidence presented by the local police, the state police, and the FBI; but also to our concept of double jeopardy.

Thank you for your continued extraordinary service to our great nation.
