It really makes you wonder about that guy who flew his plane into the IRS building in Austin, TX. I’d love to know how far they pushed that guy, exactly what the circumstances of his situation were with respect to these IRS thugs.

I’m not sure people understand yet how huge this is, how much we’ve become the police state we’d only jested about just a month ago.
Would an administration willing to deploy the IRS for the managed purpose of attacking individual Americans and organizations deemed to be political enemies… would such a regime balk at involving other powerful federal agencies to do the same? Would such a lawless administration draw the line anywhere? As bad as what we know is already, how much worse is it? How widespread?
Historically, as top level scandals go, these are rolling out quick – Watergate took years to unravel. Not only are these people vicious, ruthless, and without a care for the country, they are incredibly bad at whatever they undertake: failed policies and legislation, failed foreign affairs, failed scams, failed trickery, failed thuggery, and they show abominable skills at covering it all up.
The GOP is being handed the keys to political heaven here and they’d better not screw it up. This IRS thing is bigger than mere politics – these people are directly attacking the rights of American citizens in the tens of thousands, if not millions for all we know re: yet to emerge scandals. They set up a purposeful federal government system of operation with the goal of infringing on freedom of speech and religion and the right to vote, all of it specifically to quell political opposition in advance of elections in 2010 and 2012.
As well as being a complete repudiation of American values and a spit in the eye of every citizen, is this treatment of potentially half the American public not treasonous?
I would agree with you… and then I remember Robert E Lee. He was against slavery, he was offered command of the Union army by Lincoln, but in the end, his loyalty to his state was stronger than his oath to the Union.
There may be some who are willing to whistle whatever song Obama likes to hear, to have one more star on their shoulder board… but I would ventur to say there are many in their command who will be compelled to defend the citizen from tyranny.

Tomorrow is ‘Memorial Day’ here in Korea. I will travelling to Busan city, to pay my respects at the UN Memorial Cemetary. Even went as far as making plans with my wife to take our first son, eight years old with me and talk with him about why he has the day off from school, how Americans were willing to give their lives to come defend a country many may not have heard of before travelling there, and to explain the 36,492 American names on the wall is the cost of freedom.
Now, I’ll be going there with one other mission… to thank them for giving what they gave, and to humbly apologize, for they may have won their war, but the following generations are content to just let everything slip away.
I have a cousin who served at the DMZ by choice after he graduated West Point. A reminder that the war was not won, just an armistice signed; a nation divided still. We are not content to let South Korea suffer destruction at the whim of the child-ruler of N. Korea; neither are we content to see our nation slip away.
