There oughta be an award for this

There oughta be an award for this

Maybe the David Sirota Award?

“xaxnar” diarist at Daily Kos, April 16, 2013, The Right Wing Media Is Nervous:

Charles P. Pierce noted today that the conservative media wing nuts are freaking out over anything or anyone that suggests what happened in Boston at the Marathon just might, might have anything to do with, um, you know, conservatives, right-wingers, etc.

You know – the audience that gets constant messaging from Limbaugh, Hannity, Ingrahm, FOX, etc. etc. that Obama is coming to take their guns away, liberals are destroying America, the gays are coming for their kids, the new Black Panthers are coming for their stuff, and so on. The audience that gets a constant stream of talking points intended to gin up fear and anger. The audience that believes George Soros is funding the black helicopters of the U.N. that are coming to seize their guns and their golf courses. The audience that’s been told expanding access to health care like the civilized world has is a plot to enslave Americans and make them dependent on government.

Oh, and government is the source of everything that’s wrong in their lives….

If the right wing media machine feels it is being unjustly accused (and there is no evidence at this time that points to any particular ideology, or cause, organization, or individual), all I can say is that tired old line:

If you’re not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about.

Charles P. Pierce, of course, never gets a steady stream of the liberal progressive messaging from his own ilk, does he?

If standing up for constitutional principles is “Wrong”, (i.e. who gets to define what is WRONG in a political sense?), then we actually do have something to worry about now, don’t we?

So, now that an Islamist has once again been caught blowing up innocent (“infidel”?) Americans, what does this “liberal progressive” have to say? I guess all he’ll say is, “See, we TOLD you that it was all the fault of those nasty Caucasians!!”
Does he know what these Islamic jihadists will do to him. once Shari’a is instituted?

You know, there are a hell of alot more mental deficients that we need to keep a close eye on, beside the Loughner’s, Holmes’s, and Lanza’s, right Pierce?!

Ayup. And the Jews in prewar Germany were obviously guilty for being paranoid about the National Socialists. Why would the Jews feel unjustly accused when there was no evidence pointing to their guilt. Damn Jews and their guilty consciences.

One of the defining character traits of a progressive is psychological projection.

Psychological projection is a defense mechanism people subconsciously employ in order to cope with difficult feelings or emotions. Psychological projection involves projecting undesirable feelings or emotions onto someone else, rather than admitting to or dealing with the unwanted feelings.

It’s almost like he thinks we don’t need a constitution to limit what government can do TO us … because if we aren’t doing anything wrong, no amount of government intrusion and no level of taxation should be a concern to us. Government will always do the right thing (except when Bush or Republicans are in office).

We’ll always have the right to Obamacare and housing and food stamps and Obamaphones, as long as we’re not doing ANYTHING wrong. (like exhaling too much CO2, or disagreeing with Obama)

“Oh, and government is the source of everything that’s wrong in their lives….”

Well, I wouldn’t say everything…..

Soros is seizing the golf courses? No doubt the President will drone him…..

What a coincidence. The Charles Pierce the Koz kid diarist quotes is the exact same Charles Pierce I quoted today in LI’s bumper sticker post comment section. Here’s what I said just today:

Reminds one of this gem from the Boston Globe’s Charles Pierce in 2003:

“If she had lived, Mary Jo Kopechne would be 62 years old. Through his tireless work as a legislator, Edward Kennedy would have brought comfort to her in her old age.”

Key words: “If she had lived.”

Ummm, Chuck, she didn’t live. She died an agonizing death.

__________

I might add, if O.J. Simpson hadn’t decapitated Nicole, O.J.’s NFL pension would have brought comfort to her in her old age.

Koz kid, Chucky Pierce might not be somebody you’d wanna tie your ideological wagon to.

They’ve moved beyond beyond parody. So what’s beyond “beyond beyond” parody?

LukeHandCool (who would like to see Billy Dyszel do a parody music video of The Knack’s “My Sharona,” called, “My Sirota.” “M-m-m My Sirota!!” And whose friend met the real life Sharona at Santa Monica College just before the song came out and took her to a Clash concert)

One wonders what Iyyob (aka Job in English) would say to that.

If progressives in academia, the media, entertainment, or the government are accusing you or coming after you then you *must* have done something wrong!

Silly little twit.

“If you’re not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about.”

Yeah, that’s exactly the lie I’d tell, too.

Without reading the Pierce article (I try to avoid his writing as much as possible), I don’t understand what the litany of stuff the Kos writer attributes to conservative thought has to do with conservatives being irked that the MSM and leftsphere were falsely linking us to the Boston bombing.

How about giving the author the “Excellence in Superfluous Writing” award?

A couple months of reading Pierce in Esquire, and I cancelled my 20-year subscription.

Apparently a lot of others had the same reaction, since I note the magazine’s circulation has fallen out of the top 100 US magazines (roughly all the way down to what it was in 1932) and they now try to give away subscriptions at a money-losing $5 a year.

“There oughta be an award for this”

There is: a good job writing for liberal media, and the adulation of his peers.

Who is xaxnar? The most frequent tags in his Kos profile are on US topics, so it’s a good guess that he’s American.

But look at this sentence (boldface mine):

The audience that’s been told expanding access to health care like the civilized world has is a plot to enslave Americans and make them dependent on government.

Apparently he thinks the USA is not part of the civilized world…yet he does not emigrate. Odd, no? Maybe he’s willing to suffer the squalor here because he’s so doggone patriotic.

Btw, I’m more interested in America (re)joining the solvent world, what there is of it, than what lefties call the civilized world.

The David Sirota award? What is that – a freeze-dried piece of turd?

If all of us hated conservative wing nuts would just convert, en-masse, to Islam and then just blow up a couple of 8 year old children here and there, kill a few of our daughters for honor, and stone one or two homosexuals, and the left would love us.

If you’re not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about.

Just because my fly isn’t open doesn’t mean that somebody hasn’t set my hair on fire.

“If you’re not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about.”

Well, that depends on who’s defining the term, “wrong.”

Right now, that term is clearly addressed to us, the bible-gun-racists of the conservative base.

So yes we must be vigilant and maintain at the very least the Bill of Rights…

“Relax, Shitizen – the police will take good care of you.”

Now there seems no reason why
I should carry on
In this land that once was my land
I can’t find a home

It’s lonely and it’s quiet
And the horse soldiers are coming
And I think it’s time I strung my bow
And ceased my senseless running

For soon I’ll find the yellow moon
Along with my loved ones
Where the buffaloes graze in clover fields
Without the sound of guns

And the red sun sinks at last
Into the hills of gold
And peace to this old warrior comes
With a bullet hole.

I would point out the Alwaki’s 16 year old son (a US citizen) would disagree with that final statement …

Strange. That is the second time in two days I’ve seen an unhinged lefty describe Obamacare as allowing healthcare in the US to keep pace with the “civilized world”. Yesterday I saw someone claim that the US had the worst health care system in the “developed world”.

Anyone know the source of this new talking point ? Yesterday I pointed out that the 100,000+ that die every year on the UK NHS “Liverpool Pathway”, (which is the benign name given to the cost cutting process in the UK when they decide you don’t get any more health care, you just get to die) probably don’t feel too good about THEIR health care system.

It is so surreal to see liberals describe the world in a “sky is green” kind of distortion. Is health care in the US expensive and getting moreso ? Yes. Is it the worst in the developed world ? Ask a Canadian.
