Cult of Personality

Cult of Personality

Keith Koffler at White House Dossier has it exactly right, Obama to Create Mass Organization Devoted to Obama:

President Obama will remake his presidential campaign into a massive new movement  devoted to supporting his agenda, an unprecedented move that creates a brand new political organization devoted not to a Party, not to an idea – but to one charismatic leader.

The group, to be called Organizing for Action, opens for business Sunday, the day Obama is officially inaugurated.

If this type of organization has existed before in American politics on any similar scale, I’m not aware of it.

There are excellent reasons why we haven’t had mass groups devoted to powerful leaders in this country. Our whole system of government is designed to provide checks to protect against the accretion of too much power, to forestall mob rule. A mass organization that does the bidding of a single individual who also happens to be the president of the United States undermines such intentions….

What’s more, according to Politico, OFA will be classified as a 501(c)4 group, which means donors can give it as much money as they want and none of the contributors’ names need be released. Never mind that Obama has ardently opposed this kind of thing for years….

In case there was any mistaking the very personal nature of the new organization, Obama himself announced it in an email to supporters and included a link to a video of Michelle discussing the group and mentioning things like “one of my first dates with Barack.”

Organizing for Action will put American politics on a new path. A treacherous one.

I saw this sick cult of personality and megalomania from the start:

Barack Obama also is the deep thinker who ponders great things. And the thing that Barack Obama seems to ponder most is his own greatness. He doesn’t write biographies, he writes only autobiographies. He gives speeches which he declares to be historic. He recognizes his place in history long before he has created history. This nation is but a stage upon which Barack Obama creates his life story, and it’s all about him.

It’s happening right before your eyes, but it didn’t happen overnight.  The cult of Barack Obama was two generations in the making, and it came  about through the gradual usurpation of the mass media, the entertainment industry, and the educational system to political purposes.

It is a long fight ahead.

*cough* Hitler *cough*

Listen, does ANYONE think he won’t try for a third term? I never used to, but I sure do now. Might piss Cuomo off a bit though.

1. Obama was reelected by a smaller margin than he was elected by. That indeed is a historical achievement. We should keep reminding him in case he forgets.

2. He should never have been reelected. Elements of his campaign were brilliant but he would not have been reelected against competent opposition. The GOP coalition is culpable for the election outcome and few of us therein are beyond reproach.

Men at some time are masters of their fates:
The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars,
But in ourselves, that we are underlings.

3. Let’s not repeat the same behavior and expect different results.

Hey, that’s pretty good, gs. You should try to get that published.

This is called Fuhrerprinzip, “This principle can be most succinctly understood to mean that “the Führer’s word is above all written law” and that governmental policies, decisions, and offices ought to work toward the realization of this end.[1] In actual political usage, it refers mainly to the practice of dictatorship within the ranks of a political party itself, and as such, it has become an earmark of political Fascism.”

Yep, this is what we got with Obama. But the relevant inquiry, in my view, is this: Do we have enough in the Congress who are willing to stand behind the Article 6 oath, which each one voluntarily took, and effectively check-&-balance this guy?

I fear we don’t. Are Repubs committed to the Constitution? I don’t know. And the fact that I can’t be sure is itself cause for real worry.

As to Democrats, they can NOT be trusted at all; their oaths are utterly worthless, a fact for which most people really don’t care. And that is the real concern here. When the people themselves don’t care about the integrity of their government, it really is lost.

“Whenever people are well-informed they can be trusted with their own government.” Quoting one whose initials are TJ.

From that same TJ guy, “When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.”

OFA, in it’s latest iteration, is basically just the continuation of Obummer’s campaign apparatus (Obama For America) remaining from the last election. It did the same conversion in ’09, except back then it was called Organizing For America. I got interested in it at that time from reading a left wing blog called Electablog, the author of which was one of it’s ringleaders er leaders in Michigan; think SEIU, UAW, LiUNA, etc., heavy union involvement, money, and organization. They are a very committed and determined force to be reckoned with.

They are some seriously politically active people involved and they are very well organized, especially at the state level with a presence in most congressional districts and they seem to coordinate their activities with local/county Democrat Committees. They hold local demonstrations coordinated out of their state headquarters, two and three day seminars on how to help their candidates organize and win elections; classes on how to write talking point letters to newspaper editors, how to get out the vote … etc., etc.

The OFA name never seems to be mentioned very much in the media but, rest assured, it’s there and it’s both formidable and unrelenting.

Are Repubs committed to the Constitution?

Not if it meant stopping a biological and adoptive son of foreign nationals, who went to school as a foreign national, who espoused fascism and communism from running for POTUS.

TrooperJohnSmith in reply to Samuel Keck. | January 18, 2013 at 7:41 pm

Remember, his famous quote from his first campaign: “We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”

Or, as one other fellow stated, some years earlier, “I have loyal fighters, men aligned to the correct function and ideology of the Party. These men go into the streets and fight the Communists and any of our other enemies, wherever they dare oppose us. They spill the blood, which must be spilled to purify the nation of all its evil pestilence. At their head, is my dear old comrade, Ernst Rohm!”

Obama wants to be THE American Idol.

The sum of pathological narcissism and overweening central power…

Obama.

Yet, Rags, you object when we fight back against this petty dictator-wannabe using the methods that he uses against us. You object to fighting fire with fire.

Ragspierre in reply to Juba Doobai!. | January 19, 2013 at 10:13 am

      No. That is flatly false.

I object to the call to be as nasty as they are.

I won’t be. I’ll say it again; I will never Bork another person.

I won’t lie. Among other things.

      Clear now…?!?!?!

I cant wait for the Obama (fill in subject) pamphlets to be distributed

Nice video of the kids.

Do you have one of kids singing at the kenyan’s funeral….?

That’s the one I want to see…..

Doesn’t sound like he’s planning on going away in 4 years.

At some point, the “personality” either reaches his/her saturation point or they die. The first is vastly to be preferred, as people don’t tend to idolize anyone whose cycle of celebrity has gone full circle.

Once the personality is gone, it’s very hard to re-create that initial level of excitement.

I’m guessing that the OfA “campaign” has already lost a lot of support – they were hurting for money in the 2012 campaign, and they couldn’t get the number of volunteers that they had in 2008.

Once Obama is out of power, there aren’t going to be that many people who are willing to follow him. The people who join cults are only there as long as they have a power figure to lead them. The people who crave political power are always looking for the next “new” personality; Obama will be of much less use to the movers and shakers once he is no longer President.

I’m including a link to a video on VIMEO entitled “AGENDA: Grinding America Down”. It’s about an hour and a half long, but definitely worthwhile to watch.

God bless, the United States of America (for as long as she stands!)

Professor-you mentioned education but the Social Justice Education movement is targeting values and emotions particularly at the level of secular spirituality. Such express targeting with this kind of a political organization behind it really does take us much of the way towards Fascism. And I use the word carefully as a history major.

We have a federal government detrmined to use its spending powers and ability to collect data to explicitly target “hearts and minds.” As in the heart will be the dominant driver and the mind as weak as possible.

http://www.invisibleserfscollar.com/now-its-head-heart-and-hands-to-get-us-to-environmental-social-and-economic-justice/ is the story I did on social justice education and the deep levels it seeks to control from.

With the concerted effort to make the classroom about psychosocial learning instead of the transmission of knowledge in both K-12 and higher ed, coupled with the active attempts to create false beliefs to literally influence daily perceptions, this political organization is not just a threat on paper. Or an offense to our sensibilities.

I had been picking up that so much of the urban school dysfunction was deliberately created to marry ignorance and grievance and make community organizing easier. There are documents that say as much. It was why Alinsky’s Industrial Areas Foundation went into the schools. How many Texans realize how active they are throughout their state as the Alliance Network? And that it seeks to ground itself in faith communities?

What an apparatus has been created through education. Largely unseen.

I’d pay good money to see Lance Armstrong and Barack Obama duke it out on a new reality show called Who’s The Bigger Lying Narcissist!

Kill these organizations. Sick the IRS on them. Direct conservative big money and go after the organizations legally and the IRS if they won’t enforce the law. Ignore the Heritage Foundations of the world for now, they are simply not up to this fight.

Here is what is happening (has happened) right in front of your eyes* and all we do is whine, whimper, and shake our finger at them.

1. Movements come and go, organizations are difficult to get rid of. (The Tea Party)

2. Self interest is the only principle around which to organize people. (Unions, EBT cards, cell phones)

3. Get rid of do-gooders in your church and your organization. (Al Gore – ignorant, fat, greedy white man; Keith Olberman, fool)

4. You want to organize for POWER, not doing good. (Eric Holder, Tim Geithner, Rahm Emanuel)

5. The issue is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution. (Guns. The Middle Class, The Wealthy)

I often like to remind people that Obama hasn’t even started his 2nd term yet…

…Nor his 3rd…

[…] it’s not like this Cult of Personality business wasn’t […]

Yep, Obama wants to remake America into his own image. The Ebony Calf must be worshipped.

Well, what I said just under a month after the election:

This president has only one goal in his second term: to eliminate political and economic competition to himself first and the Democrat party second. There is no other Obama agenda. Not jobs, not economic growth, not anything. Emplacing permanent one-party rule in this country is the sole goal for term 2.

A contrary thought. Either the new OFA takes over the Democrat party or there is going to be a lot of infightig.

I’m with Ace of Spade… “Let it Burn”

let the drone Obots suffer under this thin skinned arrogant fool.

This OFA is right out of PR & Marketing Land. BO is a brand. He has followers that ‘buy’ whatever he says. They are consumed with his image and dangerously they’re enough in numbers they can sway an election. Of course the Democrats want to keep those followers so BO will always be leading them in the ‘Democratic way’. Doesn’t have to hold an office. Sort of like Ted Kennedy and Steve Jobs. Righteous salesmen – the slickest they come. One can always sell successfully to the young and ignorant as long as you use plenty of emotion. This is what BO will continue to do for the Democrats. Just keep putting the children into every issue – guns or money or whatever. Maybe he’ll even get out the baby animals, too. The Republicans will continue to look insensitive and cold-hearted until they smartly turn intelligence into kindness.

Creepy. Just effin creepy.

The fact that BaCrock is not a natural born citizen helps explain a lot of his desire to see America fail. Let’s use the constitutional rules to stop him instead of being abused repeatedly. It seems like all we do is moan and groan about his latest power grab and then wait for his next move so we can whine again. We are in an abusive relationship and it does not have to be that way.

TeaPartyPatriot4ever | January 19, 2013 at 12:12 am

Isn’t amazing how Obama and his henchmen sycophants have so corrupted the Nation, our Society, our Communities, our very core being as a US Constitutional Republic, he is even using the US Military and all of it’s honored sanctioned institutions like West Point, against the American people to give the air appearance of legitimacy and righteousness.

This is truly the most disgusting infiltration and poisoning of America’s Military by these radical subversive liberal anti-American anarchist marxists, for purely political sabotage.

They are not fooling anyone, as what they seek to do is sanction anything the violent radical left produces from OWS factions all over America, to the Union thugs and goons who attack innocent conservative activists in public, to govt stormtroopers who use the legitimacy of govt authority to abuse it’s power at will.

All the while innocent Conservative activists like the Tea Party are made up of average everyday citizens involved in politics, with absolutely not 1 iota of evidence of violence, are being targeted by this tyrannical regime in and of every aspect of govt agency-including our US Military institutions, which are derived from the private sector, along with private civilian communities and organizations.

Just like Hitler and his Nazi Henchmen, Obama has turned the US govt./ the Nation into a Police State of fear and intimidation.

Why is it that personality cults always center around bland, colorless, uninteresting personalities? Obama himself, in his book, acknowledged that he was merely a cypher–that people just saw in him whatever they wanted to see. Maybe that is the key to this thing–personality cults are never based upon the intrinsic worth of the person being worshiped, but are a projection of wishful thinking. The great tragedy is that people wish so hard for their dreams to be real that their faith can only be shaken after the fist 30 million or so people are sacrificed on the altar of their god. And even then, many people still believe.

    R. Dittmar in reply to John Scotus. | January 19, 2013 at 1:53 pm

This is exactly what I was thinking. In order for Obama to have a Cult of Personality wouldn’t he need an actual personality?

[…] did not intend to get in this deep,” Foreman confesses. Well, a cult of personality can sneak up on someone as credulous and trusting as a old media journalist over […]

What is coming is…well, it’s worse than most all of us think.

This 2nd Amendment grab is just a prelude to a grab at the 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th.

He’s going to do it.

Uncle Samuel in reply to TheFineReport.com. | January 20, 2013 at 8:22 am

The 1st Amendment already attacked – prosecution or boycotts for hate speech (except for Democrat or liberal comedians) or no benediction at Inauguration if preachers disagree with gay cult sex acts. Alinsky tactics are used against anyone who does not toe the PC line in word or thought. PC really means Punitive Conformity to a political agenda.

can you say “Sturmabteilung”

At this rate this a**hole’s portrait is going to be on the $10,000 bill. I can already guarantee his birthday is going to be a Federal holiday after he kicks off.
