I hope this person fails

I hope this person fails

From reader Scott:

Hello again from Raleigh, NC. I rolled up on the following Volvo and the first thing that popped into my head was, “triple fail”. From the disastrous, Jon Stewart-led “Restore Sanity Rally”, to the even more epic “99%” spectacle, the Obama 2012 seemed the perfect “three-and-out” for its owner.

Bonus question to your readers. The license plate wrap indicates the owner is from Cary. Cary is suburb of Raleigh, but folks around here use it as an acronym for “Concentrated Area for Relocated Yankees”.

I’m originally from Maryland and lived in Cary for a short time in the 90’s. Believe me when I say the acronym/nickname is well-earned.

That is so gay . He wouldn’t last long in Franklin.

It’s “Containment Area for Relocated Yankees” – get it right! (Yes, I live in Cary, but I’m not a Yankee.)

Unfortunately, between Cary and Chapel Hill, we have enough libs to guarantee that we keep our lib Congressman, David Price.

Yeah, don’t you love it? People leave California or somewhere “up north” because those places are screwed up. Then, they b!tch and complain because it’s not like where they used to live.

In Houston, circa 1977/78, you’d be driving down the freeway and half the cars were from the rust-belt. Most of those newcomers would begin a sentence with, “Well, up north, we…” It finally got so bad, we began to see bumper stickers and t-shirts that stated, We don’t care how you did it up north! In Washington state, I saw a ‘California’ version of that meme.

I can’t find my glasses. Does that say “Restore Vanity?”

And, aren’t Volvo’s production locations primarily outside the U.S.?

Ahhh the 99%. Now even wealthy Volvo driving libs can feel as if they’re in communion with the oppressed masses. And all it takes is a bumpersticker.

I can’t think of a more vapid, brainless movement than the 99 percenters.

These libs have no idea how ridiculous they look. Kind of like the First Lady working a soup kitchen in $800 sneakers.

In other words, Volvos are expensive. How does a “99 percenter” afford one?

    Sheesh.

ROMNEY: We all, of course, recognize the power of all of us working together. We’re a united nation. He divides us. He tries to divide America, tear America apart.

I get sick of defending the south, their right to give tax breaks to foreign corps and to build and drive what they want, defend against Boycott Alabama, defend against the lib meme that southerns are uneducated, fat and that to cut taxes is become like hicks in rural Missouri…

When I went to Restoring Honor I ran into someone from North Carolina, described how my sister lived down south, first in Tampa/St Pete Florida, vacationed in Georgia Mountains and then settled down just outside Nashville.

How I was from an area in Michigan known as home to Reagan Democrats…

This person from North Carolina then referred to my sister as a half back and just another damn yankee…

If at the time we weren’t confined in small mass transit space for a long period I probably would have corrected this MF’rs ignorance on the spot … that sis moved to all those places because her husbands job (now Ret. Marine Gunny Sgt.) required it..

~THAT he’d been HALF way around the world (several times) to defend his BACK, and right to say stupid chit.

Well Scott, you may be corect in this particular instance to say what you’ve said, but I would warn you not to pigeon hole whole groups of people with derogatory terms deigned to divide us.

I was discussing weather with someone I’ve known for thirty years the other day, the southern tornadoes that has killed people.. this guy say’s “couldn’t happen to a better bunch of people”, I told him that’s just raw dude, you’re one sick and repugnant MF to say something like that.

What can you do?
Sometimes, I guess there just aren’t enough rocks.

I’ve been to Cary twice in the last few years, and it’s a beautiful area. There are indeed a lot of transplants there. It’s part of the research triangle and attracts a lot of techies. I could detect a difference in attitude between those in the tech community from those who were truly local – in terms of everything from friendliness to humility, to politics.

I don’t mean to trash techies or transplants, or to over-generalize, but there was a noticeable correlation between those whom I met on business, who were mostly technology transplants, and those who were clearly local. I have only positive things to say about the latter group.

I don’t recall seeing a single Volvo. Maybe I was just lucky.

I’m a Cary resident and in a management role in the high-tech industry and I concur with what you say. Being conservative in these circles is like being gay. You have to learn to spot the “tells” of a fellow conservative. But there are lots of us out there. All too few in the CxO roles though. And yes, it is disheartening to think that hard-left commie David Price remains our Representative. It was really nauseating ~2008 having to endure all the “lightworker” BS from techies. It is interesting to see the dejection of the die hard lefties now though. More heartening yet are the expressions of “buyers remorse” from the people who have realized what a bill of goods they were sold in 2008.

Scott,
Good job getting out of Maryland. One day, I hope to follow your example. One day.

even worse is that yankees are now thought of as bad cause of what the city yankees have done.
most of us are not like that.

Hmm… so the people who don’t pay taxes and those that receive govt handouts built the infrastructure as well?

There’s a saying in Raleigh where “If you say you’re from Raleigh, you’re either just moving in or just moving out”
From experience, Republicans frequenting Raleigh’s dog parks are scarcer than hen’s teeth.
Count the Universities in the Raleigh area, Duke, Wake Forest, NC State, UNC, and you’ll realize why Obama isd a frequent visitor to the area hawking his free contraception program.
