Yeah. They absolutely hate it when a minority doesn’t know its place!

I’ve met a number of people who I’ve noticed display their “coexist” badges proudly, especially in nearby VT, and more than a few have been truly intolerant but quite self-righteous. One of the leaders of a group trying to stop many of the wind farm projects in the region has a car laden with many other “progressive” sentiments (e.g. Health and Home are Rights). They are very certain about their causes and use protest as a tool with passion and regularity. But they are perfectly confused about an overall worldview. Perhaps they bounce around from cause to cause based on other factors – like to the groups and ideologies that are well funded?, I don’t know – but I cannot find the logic to connect it all.

They just can’t help but apply stickers that contradict the whole “coexist” B.S. meme to which they ascribe to themselves.

Note how that’s a luxury Chrysler Town & Country instead of the more middle class version of the Mopar minivan, the Dodge Caravan.

the only way the visual metaphor above could be more perfect is if it were on a prius.

To represent their authentic motivation, they should replace “yin and yang” with a “$”. The “1%” are motivated by that incentive and so are the “99%”; but, the latter are, in the majority, less successful in reaching their goals. It’s unfortunate that a large minority will not acknowledge their dreams of instant gratification and that they do not conclude with material possessions.

Well, enjoy “coexi$t” in decadence for as long as it lasts. Your replacements have other considerations in mind.

One might wonder why cognitive dissonance wouldn’t enter into the gnat’s-attention-span of the typical owner of such mutually-exclusive stickers, but once you realize that an initial state of cognition is sadly lacking, then you understand that there is nothing against which reality (or any sense of irony) might present any appreciable level of dissonance.

There are none so blind as they who refuse to see…
