Iranian Pastor Faces Execution for Refusing to Recant Christian Faith

Fox News Reports:

An Iranian pastor who has refused to renounce his Christian faith faces execution as early as Wednesday after his sentence was upheld by an Iranian court.

Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani, who maintains he has never been a Muslim as an adult, has Islamic ancestry and therefore must recant his faith in Jesus Christ, the 11th branch of Iran’s Gilan Provincial Court ruled. Iran’s Supreme Court had ordered the trial court to determine whether Nadarkhani had been a Muslim prior to converting to Christianity.

Killing those who convert away from Islam is popular in many Muslim countries.  A Pew poll released last December found the following:

The Egyptian numbers are especially noteworthy, and something to watch out for in the near future.

It is not just “popular” – it is a requirement if you know the Koran. They call for all converts away from Islam to either recant – or die.

It is the ultimate infidel if a Muslim converts or rejects Islam. Worse than a non-Muslim infidel. Just ask Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

But, but, what about ‘Arab Spring’ and the thirst for freedom sweeping the region? That wasn’t all BS was it?

Please don’t show this to the Global Warming crowd, they may get ideas on how to treat Deniers of the One True Faith, Apostolates of the Church of the Burning Earth (reformed).

So sad for this Pastor and his family. Why aren’t those Muslims who tell us Islam is a tolerant religion, and say they are moderates, standing up and condemning this? Have I missed the outcry of support for this Pastor from the US Muslim community?

“Why aren’t those Muslims who tell us Islam is a tolerant religion, and say they are moderates, standing up and condemning this?”

That’s a question that we need to keep asking them, loudly and insistently. Their silence is proof of how they really feel.

Apostasy. It’s a capital crime. There is no “Render unto Ceaser…” in other words there is no “Secular Law” in Islamic countries. To my knowledge the only Middle Eastern country with mixed Moslem and citizens of other religions, and a parliament with mixed religions is….Israel.

I guess there are good reasons why the U.S. does not offer to take in a Christian on the verge of experiencing the ultimate in religious persecution.

It’s also popular when Christians, Jews, pagans, and unbelievers generally, refuse Islam.

Probe of Darfur ‘slavery’ starts

That is the past and present history of Islam. In Europe, the Slavs are being reminded of their encounter with Islam every day.

It is the Coptic Christians, the true Egyptians who predate Islam who are in real danger of disappearing from persecution. Coptics were converts of the Apostle Mark of the first century existing in Egypt for the past two thousand years. The Cubitfoundation.com is doing everything they can for them to exodus before Egypt installs the Muslim Brotherhood.http://www.tnr.com/article/world/89737/egypt-coptic-christians-muslim-brotherhood-arabs-islam?page=0%2C1
“…Egypt’s Coptic Christians, who number about 10 percent of the country’s 80 million people and now constitute the largest non-Muslim religious community in Egypt, are the most visible bloc standing in the way of impatient jihadists and violent Salafis, who reject the Muslim Brotherhood’s stated approach of a more gradual and democratic cultural shift. No less an authority than Ayman al-Zawahiri, bin Laden’s top lieutenant and an Egyptian, was not shy about stating this in a three-part “Message of Hope and Glad Tidings to Our People in Egypt,” released on websites in late February. In his speech, Zawahiri demonized Copts as “one of Egypt’s main problems” and called Coptic Pope Shenouda a “Zionist traitor.” Since then, a heightened campaign of violence is being directed against Egypt’s Copts and is presaging a mass exodus from the country—an event which, if it transpires, will have devastating effects on the multicultural makeup of the entire Middle East….”
Mubarack was a bad dictator but the Coptics were allowed to live under his reign and his treaty with Israel provided a level of stability. With the Muslim Brotherhood empowered, Coptics are an endangered species.Remember that elections have consequences when you vote in 2012.
Prof, I tried to get a picture of a bumper sticker that said “The difference between Obama and Osama is bs”. A double meaning joke for linguists.

Oooooh! I can’t wait for sharia to fully blossom in America. After they come for the Christians and Jews … wait no one will be left.
Does Soros think he is immune? Can’t wait to see that guy squirm.

The anti-death penalty crowd is going to go over and protest this, right?

Anything above the normal margin of stupid people in any culture/religion/social group of 5-10% is troubling.

What’s more troubling to me as that so many seem so surprised.

Oh and what’s Alec Baldwin have to say about this form of barbarism? Or Sean Penn? Or any of the other staunch proponents of liberty and justice who always have time to condemn Christians and/or America but don’t have the guts to tempt the Muslim Mob?

Cowards and hypocrites all.

These were all still in existence in Europe about the same time as the first white settlers turned up in North Carolina.

They are part of our history also.

Not a case of moral equivalency but maybe they are still back there or we are in a Time Machine.

My hope is to have the faith and courage of a man like this, to face death for my beliefs.

Such a man of faith is a threat to a regime. He has the heart and courage of a saint.
