The appetizer from someone of enormous intellect:
“As president, Barack Obama would be a genuine uniter.”
Now on to the main course:
I noted yesterday, to the surprise of many readers, that Obama’s 60 Minutes appearance was his best yet, and that the bin Laden killing was Obama’s finest moment to date.
I even pointed out that Obama gave (some) credit to prior administrations, which is not his usual style. He spoke nice words, with none of the (domestic) enemies-list verbiage which has been his stock in trade.
That didn’t last long.
In a speech on immigration today, Obama lashed out at and mocked Republicans, saying Republicans wanted to build an alligator infested moat at the border:
“We have gone above and beyond what was requested by the very Republicans who said they supported broader reform as long as we got serious about enforcement,” Obama said. “But even though we’ve answered these concerns, I gotta say I suspect there are still going to be some who are trying to move the goal posts on us one more time.”
“Maybe they’ll need a moat,” Obama said mockingly to laughter from the crowd. “Maybe they’ll want alligators in the moat.”

I don’t know about you, but between the sleazy League of Women Voters ad against Scott Brown, and Obama’s alligator moat speech, I think I’m getting motivated again.
