Big, Unfair House Still Big, Unfair, and Not Mine

Big, Unfair House Still Big, Unfair, and Not Mine

This will serve as an update to my post last May about the construction of the Big, Unfair House, and the hope that it would be redistributed to me.

The construction looks just about completed, at least on the outside.

Mighty fine looking home.

Mighty fine, mighty big, and mightly unfair.

In the spirit of compromise, I propose that the rich owners get to keep the house for two years, and then we revisit the subject.

In the meantime, can I at least get one of those cars?  It’s only fair.

Yeah…I tried that. Houses, cars, paychecks. Can't seem to get the Lefty's to go for it.

Can't we just be happy that we live in a country where just about anyone can aspire to live in such a beautiful lot in such a large and sumptuous home?

Can't we be happy that we don't live where talent and merit count for little compared to what station you were born into and your family connections?

Nah… I want that house redistributed to me! I'm entitled to it, I was born 1/64th Native American or something.

There was of course the story of the ZenMaster as was recounted in the movie 'Charlie Wilson's War'. The upshot is be careful what you wish for. For if you have the home redistributed to you. You also get the redistributed utility bills, tax bill, lawn maintenance (You would not do it yourself of course.) and the ad volerum taxes on the yacht. Its on the water right, have to have a yacht.

Like the ZenMaster said, "…. we'll see…"

Can't we be happy that we don't live where talent and merit count for little compared to what station you were born into and your family connections?

Except we don't…ask any college admissions department how much "talent" and "merit" count compared to the box you check under "race."
