Day of Rest

Day of Rest

Today is the first day of Rosh Hoshanah, the start of the New Year (5771) in the Jewish calendar, and the first of the Days of Awe, culminating in Yom Kippur.

So I’m taking the day off from blogging.  Which is a guarantee that there will be a huge breaking news story today.

Happy New Year, Professor! Shanah tovah u'metukah. Enjoy. 😀

La shana tova, Professor!

Happy New Year!

May we all meet in the State of Israel next year, and may its borders encompass the West Bank, the Golan Heights, the Gaza Strip and the land all the way to the Suez, and all of Jerusalem.

La shana tova, Professor!

La shana tova!

Hey I have a dumb question for you. I saw it suggested in a blog that we ban sharia law in the US. That was confusing to me since there are only local, state, and federal laws in the US – how could we ban sharia law? Do you know what that person was talking about? Would some Muslims expect to be able to follow sharia law if it were not the law of the land? Is this something we need to think about?

See! That's why so many bloggers get "guest bloggers" to fill in. Those of us who don't have a life and so spend lots of time commenting here now have to waste a day staring at a blank screen.

Wishing you a Happy New Year, sir.

lashana tova!

As long as you're not following the Castle, O'Donnell tussle, I think you're fine.

Oops, wait a sec….

well, it appears you are missing all the latest twists and turns in the victory mosque/burning korans imbroglio….

Prof. Jacobson, someone is accessing your blog on your day of rest and approving all the comments!!!

May you be inscribed and sealed for a good year.
