Harry Reid: GOP Rooting For Economy To Fail (Just Like I Did On Iraq)

Harry Reid now:

At a press conference announcing a package of proposals to help small business, the Nevada Democrat said Republicans were obstructing legislation to help the economy for political reasons.

“They think the worse the economy is come November, the better they’re going to do election-wise,” Reid said.

Harry Reid then:

“Now I believe, myself, that the Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, and you have to make your own decision as to what the President knows, that this war is lost, and that the surge is not accomplishing anything as indicated by the extreme violence in Iraq yesterday.”

But that was different, right?

Harry Reid is a dishonest fraud and the media let's him get away with it. He said this in the last sentence of The Hill article you link to:

"Reid cited an extension of unemployment benefits as an example of legislation that would help the economy but was being blocked by Republicans."

Scott Brown introduced deficit-neutral legislation on June 30th to extend unemployment benefits. Harry Reid refused to bring it to a vote before they went on vacation. Yet he has the nerve to say the Republicans are blocking attempts to extend unemployment benefits.
