Is there anything that the U.N. does right?

I noticed a story earlier this week, Apology for UN refusal to stop Rwanda genocide. The context for the apology is the twentieth anniversary of the Rwandan genocide.

Max Blumenthal Michigan Divest 2

Max Blumenthal is experiencing what goes around coming around.

Having blamed various critics of radical Islam as well as international Zionism for the 2011 mass murder in Norway, unfairly, Blumenthal now is in focus because the Overland Park shooter was a big fan of Blumenthal’s Jewish money and Israel Lobby conspiracy theories. ...

We have relatively few resources, and time. We do what we can do.

We helped expose the American Studies Association for the hateful group...

National SJP Day of Action 2014 Banner

When the Cornell Students for Justice in Palestine tried to schedule their last-minute anti-Israel Divestment Resolution for Passover week, I assumed that was something isolated to Cornell.  (The attempt was defeated yesterday.)

But maybe not.

Passover starts on the night of April 14, and seders are held that night and the night of April...

Sussex Friends of Israel Man Screaming

Opposing the anti-Israel Boycott Divest and Sanction movement is serious business, so it’s natural that we tend to be serious about it.

But I also think we need to be happy in the fight as well.

Contrary to boycott mythology, Israel is thriving economically, with investment and new trade deals being announced almost...

Last month, Jeffrey Goldberg published an interview with President Barack Obama, ahead of Israeli Prime Minster Benjamin Netanyahu’s trip to the United States to attend the AIPAC conference. The President wasn’t at all friendly in the interview, warning (in Goldberg’s words) that “time is running out.” Roughly four weeks later, Mahmoud...

So said an Israeli-American young woman in the video below.

There were many great speakers on March 25, 2014, in opposition to the University of Michigan anti-Israel divestment resolution, but hers stood out to me. The resolution ultimately was defeated 25-9.
