On Thursday, the State of Israel is celebrating her 67th birthday. Naturally, pro-Israel college students nationwide have organized celebratory gatherings – ranging from guest speakers to culturally (read: food) oriented events.

On Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s campus, the planned celebration was not without controversy and dissent.

On April 20th, the student group Palestine@MIT...

Jimmy Carter

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Reuven Rivlin are refusing to meet with former President Jimmy Carter during Carter’s trip to Israel.

The Israeli presidency is a mostly ceremonial post in the parliamentary system, so the feelings must be strong for the President of Israel to refuse to meet Carter.

Well that “Framework” negotiation was fun.

For the Iranians, who got a great deal at least as far as a Framework goes.

As this WaPo editorial points out, the Obama administration gave up on key parameters:

THE “KEY parameters” for an agreement on Iran’s nuclear program released Thursday fall well short of the goals...

I just booked my plane tickets to visit Israel in May.

Maybe I’ll call it an Apology Tour.

I’ll let Israelis know that the current administration, with its childish chickens**t taunting treatment of Israel, does not represent the American people, who overwhelmingly support Israel. (Will this violate the Logan Act?)

Fortunately, I have the...

Israel and Obama

At this point, it should be obvious to most people that Obama doesn’t have Israel’s best interests in mind. Even Democratic members of the Senate are coming around.

The Times of Israel:

Senators warn Obama against rescinding UN veto

As reports proliferate that US leadership is considering stripping Israel of the protective diplomatic umbrella...

The Virginia State Bar, the official licensing agency governing attorneys in the Commonwealth, caused a firestorm of controversy with a mass email from President Kevin E. Martingayle to the membership on Friday night, March 27, 2015, cancelling a scheduled mid-year seminar in Jerusalem.

Just two days earlier, however, Martingayle had emailed the...

In a few days the world’s Christians and Jews will celebrate Easter and Passover. It’ll be a weekend of good food (and at my seder, plenty of good Israeli wine)—but most of all it’ll be an affirmation of freedom and faith, an expression of joy, hope and renewal.

But for many people...

With news that Israel spied on the Iran nuke negotiations, there is high dudgeon in some quarters.

Extending the administration’s Bibi-bashing news cycle apparently was the intent of the U.S. officials who leaked the information to The Wall Street Journal.

While Israel denies spying on U.S. officials, as opposed to targeting the...

Between July 17 and August 5 of2014, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) destroyed 32 tunnels in Gaza — 100 kilometers of concrete-lined and accessorized passageways dug deep beneath the earth’s surface with openings near Israeli homes and kindergartens. Hamas murdered dozens of the nearly 900 diggers in its employ, fearing that...

Israel and Obama

Since Netanyahu’s victory last week, the Obama administration has offered little more than a cold shoulder to Israel, and seems more interested in talking to Iran.

The fact that Israel is our best ally in the region is overlooked while Obama continues working on his so-called “non-binding agreement.”

This morning on FOX and...

Since we all tend to self-select on Twitter, it wasn’t a surprise that my timeline was filled with thrill for Benjamin Netanyahu’s surprisingly strong victory in the Israeli elections.

Sure, technically it was a win for Likud and the Israeli “right,” but it was all Netanyahu’s win on Twitter.

Or rather, it was...

Charles Krauthammer began a 1999 column like this:

Having failed to topple Saddam Hussein or Slobodan Milosevic, Bill Clinton had to settle for Benjamin Netanyahu.

In a characteristic display of partisan glee, Clinton toasted political consultant Robert Shrum on Tuesday night (reports Lloyd Grove in The Washington Post) to congratulate him (and implicitly, the...
