Rand Paul Demands DOJ Investigate Top Fauci Aide for Allegedly Destroying COVID Origin Emails

So much corruption.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) demanded the DOJ investigate Dr. David Morens for allegedly destroying emails about the origins of COVID-19.

Morens served as a top aide to Dr. Anthony Fauci at the NIH.

“I write to urge the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to open an investigation into the alleged improper concealment and intentional destruction of records by Dr. David Morens, Senior Advisor to the Director at the National Institutes of Health (NIH),” Paul wrote to AG Merrick Garland. “Additionally, I request you investigate allegations that employees within NIH’s FOIA office may have conspired with Dr. Morens to evade public records retention laws.”

The House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic revealed emails that point to Morens using his private email account to conduct government business, including asking the NIH FOIA office how to avoid requests.

The emails also show Morens admitted to deleting emails about the origins of COVID-19.

Avoid FOIA

In February 2021, Morens worried about FOIA requests, promising he would be more careful thanks to the NIH FOIA office.

“I learned from our foia lady here how to make emails disappear after i am foia’d but before the search starts, so i think we are all safe,” Morens wrote. “Plus i deleted most of those earlier emails after sending them to gmail.”

Lovely.

Personal Email Addresses

Morens stated in another email that he had access to Fauci’s personal email address and used it to conduct government business. Fauci also conducted business with the email address.

In April 2021, Morens told Dr. Peter Daszak of EcoHealth Alliance that he shouldn’t worry about FOIAs.

“I can either send stuff to Tony on his private gmail or hand it to him at work or at his house,” continued Morens. “He is too smart to let colleagues send him stuff that could cause trouble.”

Yes, that Daszak, who Leslie has written about many times! He recently admitted that Americans funded fain-of-function virus experiments in Wuhan, China.

Back Channel

In May 2021, Morens made it known they had a back channel.

“I suggested Arthur to interview Tony directly and connected him to our ‘secret’ back channel,” Morens wrote to colleagues. “He emailed Tony a few hours ago.”

Only Use Gmail Account

It wasn’t until November he found out he should reveal information with his personal address.

Morens told one person, “I forgot to clarify in my email yesterday that BOTH my gmail and phone calls are now safe. Text is NOT, as it can be FOIA’s, as can my govt email.”

“So you and Peter and others should be able to email me on gmail only, with the caveat that no other govt. employee is copied at a govt address, as all govt emails are potentially FOIA’able,” he added.

Inside Information

It seems that Morens and Daszak had a cozy relationship because he began providing Daszak with inside information in April 2020.

Delete Official Records

It’s a cozy relationship, right? Morens told Daszak he would delete sensitive official records, especially if they harmed him.

Also, did Fauci delete emails?

Protecting EcoHealth?

Oh, baby. I wonder if Daszak had anything on Morens because other emails prove that Morens “acted as an agent on behalf of a federal grantee, EcoHealth.”

This will go absolutely nowhere. What about Hillary’s deleted 33,000+ emails, or smashed phones? If you are a libby dem, there is no accountability.

“Although there is evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of evidence subject to the Freedom of Information Act, our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case.”

I have repeatedly challenged anyone to reconcile the results of Comey’s investigation of Hillary and the appropriate statute of the law and give her a pass. I have had no takers.

They can’t do it; she knowingly broke the law and was given a pass. Now she has the gall/audacity to criticize President Trump.

A house sub committee had a hearing with this guy earlier today, it was one of the rare times when members of both parties took this guy to task, This won’t go away quickly, there were plenty of medical doctors on the committee including the head and the ranking member, they were not happy with this guys behavior in regards to deleting government records and his association wit Daszak.

You are right that this will go nowhere Walls!! And this highlights just how important an unbiased media is and an unpoliticised DoJ is when it comes to the rule of law.

Just one of these is required to ensure the law is followed regardless of political affiliation, a media to FORCE action and, or, a straight DoJ willing to prosecute wrong doers irrespective of their political beliefs.

Sadly though problems start happening when you have a media so utterly corrupted that they only hold conservatives to account thus the great many very real scandals never see the light of day due to the media covering for the Democrat party.

Concealing email correspondence was the whole purpose of Hillary’s “home” server. Nobody ever accused her of collecting and storing classified and national security documents illegally for nefarious purposes. But because there was purpose behind her actions, she should have been prosecuted. Hillary’s actions with respect to classified information should have been considered in light of the totality of her conduct. Hillary’s conduct overall was consistent with an attempt to intentionally avoid compliance with public records laws. All of her acts that were part of this conduct were intentional, and therefore the way she handled classified information was likewise intentional. Comey lied when recommending against prosecution because of an inability to demonstrate “intent.”

Kind of like OJ verdict, how dare the White man question the innocent, always innocent, black

That is where we are as a country

We are so screwed

I’m thinking the Great North, in nearly uninhabitable Canada ( they won’t bother to abuse you there, no one wants to go there but absolute wilderness freaks

Maybe that’s the White conservatives last standing

I can’t see that, Missouri gets too damn cold.

Canada, in many respects, is worse than here. Some of the things Trudeau has done would embarrass many liberals here in the US. (Not for shame, but for not having the balls to do the same things here.)

Kabuki Theater. Move along, nothing to see here.

Observing the willful
naivety of these unscrupulous people.

– I wonder at how any of the people involved think flouting the law will benefit them long term – as if doing so will give their children and their children’s children a leg up on college admissions and job opportunities and long term family productivity, happiness and wealth.

Do they think that they alone will navigate the deadly political shoals – as if they were some sort of later-day Charles Talleyrand? Hubris and self delusion will lead them into a cul-de-sac of bloody sharia-law anarchist retribution.

Yeah. Image the hubris of a Mafia bootlegger thinking that his wealth might someday give his kid a shot to grow up to be senator, attorney general, and president.

Now imagine them doing so during a Marxist revolution.

Hint: the old bolsheviks got whacked and family went to the gulag. And then those who thought they successfully escaped the first purge found themselves dead in a cellar with a bullet lodged in their skulls. And Uncle Joe still wasn’t finished.

Now let’s talk about Mao’s hydra-headed murder machine. Liu Shaoqi gets whacked and his wife ends up wearing a ping pong ball necklace while revolutionary pervs publicly torture her. Even Zhou Enlai got fk’d by Jiang Qing before the end.

And there’s no resemblance between the Gang of Four and the Squad. None whatsoever. Nor Dowagers Pelosi and Feinstein (pbuh).

Update your OS, it’s old, dusty and rusty.

henrybowman in reply to Tiki. | May 24, 2024 at 3:19 pm

But nobody EXPECTS the Spanish Inquisition Marxist revolution. These people are classic grifters, not political revolutionaries. A revolution gets in the way of their lifestyle just as much as it would get in ours. You may as well berate them for not having anticipated the SMOD.

Dimsdale in reply to henrybowman. | May 23, 2024 at 9:35 am

Why, that sounds remarkably like the story of the Kennedy family!

DaveGinOly in reply to Tiki. | May 23, 2024 at 3:29 pm

    That all sounds rather grim.

The remind me of Curley painting himself into a corner. The only difference is that Curley probably understood that he alone was responsible for his mistake.

henrybowman in reply to DaveGinOly. | May 24, 2024 at 3:23 pm

      That’s Curly.
I was racking my mind trying to associate this story with the legendary Mayor of Boston.

Who’s going to investigate the DOJ?

DOCTOR Paul, does NOT get a say… He, as a doctor, KNEW how viruses (and bacteria btw) work. As a doctor of medicine, he should have been filibustering against the lie. Instead, he kept quiet and floowing meekly, as lives and futures were destroyed.
Now he is pandering for votes to keep his seat of power and influence.. In truth, because he knew better, he should be gacing a light pole along the beltway.

The Select Subcommittee has not seen evidence substantiating a kickback

Did they actually look for any, such as by subpoena asking for financial records? I see that kind of sleight of hand often in government investigations that are actually intended to protect those being investigated.

Rand surely knows what he asks is pointless. This is the same DoJ that didn’t care about Hillary destroying evidence, and in fact appeared to aid her in doing it.
