Judge Orders Investigation of Clinton Lawyers Over Deleted Emails

“allegations of destroying evidence”

Hillary Clinton would probably like everyone to forget about her email scandal but she’s not out of the woods yet. There are still many unanswered questions. A Maryland judge has ordered an investigation of her lawyers connected to the deletion of emails.

FOX News reports:

Investigation into Clinton lawyers accused of deleting emails is ordered

A Maryland county judge has ordered the state bar to investigate three lawyers accused of deleting thousands of Hillary Clinton’s emails.

Circuit Judge Paul F. Harris Jr. ruled Monday that the Attorney Grievance Commission and Office of Bar Counsel Maryland Office of Bar Counsel must look into complaints against Cheryl Mills, Heather Samuelson and David E. Kendall, citing “allegations of destroying evidence,” according to the Washington Times.

The ruling came after Ty Clevenger, an attorney in New York City, filed the complaint. He recently was denied files from the FBI related to Clinton’s email investigation, due to what the bureau called a lack of public interest.

It’s amazing that Hillary Clinton got so close to becoming president, after intentionally using a private email server and potentially destroying evidence in the investigation.

Chase Cook of the Baltimore Sun has more:

Anne Arundel judge orders investigation into three of Hillary Clinton’s attorneys

An Anne Arundel County judge has ordered Maryland officials to investigate a complaint against three lawyers accused of deleting emails while representing former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, overruling objections from lawyers representing the state.

Circuit Court Judge Paul F. Harris Jr. ruled Monday after a short hearing in Annapolis that the Attorney Grievance Commission and Office of Bar Counsel Maryland Office of Bar Counsel must investigate attorneys David E. Kendall, Cheryl D. Mills and Heather Samuelson. All three are licensed to practice in Maryland and could face professional sanctions if the commission determines there are guilty of misconduct.

Ty Clevenger, a Texas attorney who lives in New York, filed the complaint, saying they deleted thousands of emails related to a private email server Clinton used during her time as Secretary of State. He argued they engaged in misconduct by destroying evidence…

Leading up to Monday’s hearing the Maryland Attorney General’s Office filed a motion to dismiss the case, which was denied by Judge Ronald A. Silkworth. The judge ruled Clevenger had a right to request the investigation as Maryland law allows any person to file a bar grievance.

To think it was just about a year ago that Hillary was joking about wiping her server clean with a cloth. Had she won the election, she would have control of the Justice Department and this entire affair would be buried.

But this action has NOTHING to do with the DOJ.

We went from raucous, foot-stomping chants of “LOCK HER UP!” during the campaign to declarations by Trump’s administration of “…no compelling public interest…” once he got elected. WTF?

Kinda disingenuous. It’s still ” Lock Her Up” as much as EVER. The Obama FBI, ie, the machine, “no compelling interest”. Criticize Trump for now firing everyone at DOJ and FBI, but really, the more the FBI plays politics, the more it proves every Trump supporter right and Trump correct in stating DC is a swamp and is broken.

Paul in reply to RobM. | September 12, 2017 at 11:56 am

Riiigggghhhhtt…. only the Trump zealots knew that DC is a “swamp and is broken.” Trump promised to drain the swamp. How’s that working out?

lock them all up…. yeah, that isn’t happening anymore where there are two sets of laws: 1 for thee;the other for the elite…

Who does have control of the DOJ?

Pettifogger in reply to Rick. | September 12, 2017 at 10:58 am

The Left has control of the DOJ and all the rest of the Deep State. I see no evidence Trump has the appetite to root it out.

I see much to suggest that T-rump is Mr. Establishment, and has never been anything else.

As a matter of fact, that’s apparent. Always was.

As much as I wanted to believe he could and would drain the swamp, clean out the corruption and follow what is right for the Country, I have stopped listening to what is said and watching more wha is and isn’t being done. I will say that you have steadfastly stuck with he is Mr. Establishment and as such, won’t do much about the issues. You may be right in the long run.

        How’s he doing on DACA?

        Let’s review…

        1. he’s sustained it for eight months, going on nine

        2. he hasn’t “ended” it as so many non-thinkers are saying; indeed, he’s extended it for a minimum of six more months

        3. he insists that it be institutionalized by Congress

        4. he threatens to maintain what we all know is a gross affront to the Constitution, making it Obama/T-rump DACA

        …impressive, no?

Rags – I’ve disagreed with you MANY times about DJT.

I will still give him the benefit of doubt.
it is still early in his admin.

BUT, if he doesn’t change his modus operandi before the 2019 primary season, I will ACTIVELY work to primary him or try to get a more suitable Dem (hah) to run and win in 2019/2020 reelection OR sit that election for POTUS with donald DUCK as write in.

His plate is kinda full right now…

    Likely not Jeff Sessions.

Ragspierre in reply to Rick. | September 12, 2017 at 11:11 am

    Donald T-rump, POTUS.

    And nobody else.

Ragspierre in reply to Ragspierre. | September 12, 2017 at 2:36 pm

Oh. There’s four people here who don’t know enough civics to know that the POTUS is chief executive of the USA?

Or is it that you don’t know that means that every head of every department is only there because HE put them there, and sustains them EVERY day?

Or is it just T-rump suckage?

No one as far as any rational, reasonable person can tell.

Gee, I dunno, maybe everybody should have paid closer attention to the available clues prior to the election….

Yeah, you’re right Paul. No One paid attention before the election! Everybody just did stupid voting! Shoulda been Jeb! Please clap.

Paul in reply to RobM. | September 12, 2017 at 12:02 pm

We went from Black Jesus to Cheeto Jesus.

A LOT of Trump voters didn’t pay a lick of attention. Huge numbers of them were just so angry they projected their desires onto him just like Obama’s base did to him. It’s kinda humorous now watching them contort themselves into pretzels attempting to rationalize his actions versus his promises.

Not sure where you got the Jeb thing… not even his momma wanted him to win.

        C. Lashown in reply to Paul. | September 12, 2017 at 12:11 pm

AND the alternatives where WHAT? Another butt-crack Clinton? Yeah, let’s all give our money to some Demoncrat-lite RINO so that Butt-crack could win the election.

Perhaps DRAFT Jimmy Carter to run the GOP platform, eh? Just for everyones information, they haven’t shut the Canadian border yet. See ya, wouldn’t wanna be ya!

Isn’t the destruction of evidence a criminal matter? Why have the state bar investigate, shouldn’t it be the police?

Bucky Barkingham | September 12, 2017 at 11:48 am

I doubt if the Deep Blue legal eagles on the Lawyer Board in the Deep Blue Free State will take very long to find a friendly judge dismiss this complaint.

Investigations! And, and…. congressional hearings! And, and… more hearings! And, and… angry words at press conferences! And, and… campaign fundraising!

Indictments and prosecutions? Not so much.

Investigation will be led by Lois Lerner.

I know you are being sardonic (sardineic?), you stinky little fish, you…

BUT in all seriousness, who is John Andrew Koskinen, and why does he still head the IRS?

It’s are real puzzler when you consider “draining the swamp”.

    Innit…???

Henry Hawkins in reply to Ragspierre. | September 12, 2017 at 4:09 pm

This far into it, if Koskinen is still head of the IRS, it’s because Trump wants him there. Why is anyone’s guess – or so it seems.

The number of people who’ll be taken down for the Clintons far exceeds the number of Clinton associates who committed Arkansaside. When will those people figure out the Clintons are not good for their careers or their health?

Oh f78k me listen to all the cry babies…oh its all Trumps fault…why hasn’t Trump drained the swam…it was the Russians I tell you!!! HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

Every day Trump is in office reminds us that Hillary AINT. And thats good enough for me HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAA
