Scarborough: Trump aides better cooperate with Mueller
Scarborough: cooperate with feds “if you ever want to have any hope of . . . making a living the rest of your life.”
On today’s Morning Joe, Mika Brzezinski and Mike Barnicle fretted over the personal impact the investigations surrounding the Trump administration are having on aides to the president. Each wondered, “what do you tell your children?”
But Joe Scarborough, putting things in mercenary terms, warned aides that they must cooperate with the feds out of financial self-interest:
“Not only what do you tell your children. . . . You have to cooperate, actually, with federal authorities if you ever want to have any hope of making another dime and making a living the rest of your life.”
Was Joe offering his advice out of altruistic concern for the future of the Trump aides, or was he acting more like a prosecutor trying to squeeze potential witnesses to help make a case against the president?
MIKE BARNICLE: What do you tell your children?
MIKA BRZEZINSKI: If you do not do the right thing, what do you tell your children?
JOE SCARBOROUGH: Not only what do you tell your children? What do you tell your next potential employer when you go to be employed after all of this implodes? Do you go say, you know what, I got convicted of a felony? But I was pardoned by the president in a sleazy back-and-forth.
No, that’s, you don’t march on from that. That’s the end. So you have to cooperate, actually, with federal authorities, if you ever want to have any hope of making another dime and making a living the rest of your life.”

Huh. So all of the pleading of the Fifth to Congress about leveraging the IRS against political enemies, about Benghazi, etc., was something you should proudly brag about to the kids? And I guess it is a great resume builder for you next job to allow you to “make another dime…”

Why even bother with the aides? Just have John McCain find another bs dossier or Comey make something up in a memo. That should be enough, right?

With the exit of Sebastian Gorka, all that’s left surrounding Trump are Mueller aides.
It’s worrying, no? Shouldn’t the Trump from the campaign trail be able to keep the people he wants? I thought so, I still think so. The question becomes, what Trump do we have now? It’s clearly not the one we voted for (but still miles better than Hillary!), but the progressive factions in the WH have clearly won every staff battle (but one, Sessions is still in place).
Sessions? Mr. Recusal?
Trump is on notice by his base – and we can be sure he’s not unaware of that. Without his base, he’s toast.
I understand what he meant. Remember how the obama aides “Volunteered” to come in and tell all they knew about the IRS scandal, fast and furious scandal, Benghazi scandal, the phoney name e-mails scandals, hillary’s lying aides scandal, the EPA scandals, the obamacare lies scandal, the Iranian nuclear scandal, and many more where the Demorat aides came forward and offered to help. No, I don’t remember it either!
Maybe what Joe means is that you’d better give the appearance of cooperation while quietly stonewalling with the best attorneys and political muscle money can buy. Kinda like what the Clintons have always done. Yeah, like that.
He’s realized there’s no defense against Presidential pardon, so he’s pretending that there is one. Liberalism is all about pretending.
