This goes to what I’ve been harping on for a while now, these people truly believe that they are part of our system of government, that they’re in the constitution, that what they do is vital to the nation — that is, when they condescend to see their duty as to the nation rather than to the whole world — so they don’t understand why anyone would be upset at them doing their jobs.
I suppose many have seen the dressing-down delivered by the Houston woman in the shelter to the CNN reporter.
The curious thing is that the woman went along with the interview in the first place, stayed in place until it was their cue on the air, and participated in the interview for several minutes before going off.
Bush was not the problem with the response to Katrina. It was the Democratic governor of Louisiana, Kathleen Blanco, who refused to co-operate with a Republican President.
I’m not sure if the Democratic Party learned anything from that storm; the mayor of Houston behaved in a similar manner in the run-up to Harvey.
And let’s not forget Ray Nagin, the New Orleans mayor: in 2014, Nagin was convicted of twenty-one charges of fraud, bribery, and money laundering from bribes from city contractors before and after Hurricane Katrina, and was sentenced to ten years in federal prison!!!!!!

BAM!
“And now to The Science Guy to tell us how Gorebull Warming caused this hurricane.”
Great cartoon, true on so many levels.
Harvey brought out the best in so many people. It brought out the worst in some media crews. No surprises. Spot on as usual.

You think CNN is unpopular in Texas, just wait until people really get tired of their BS.
I give credit to GW Bush for all hurricane responses.
Katrina happened on his watch and all the lessons were learned on his watch.
Obama benefited and now Trump is too. The hard lesson was learned by Bush.
