Rush: People Voted for Trump Because They Thought the Country Was Over if Hillary Won
Russia had nothing to so with it.
In a rare appearance on FOX News Sunday, Rush Limbaugh addressed a number of Trump related issues including the reasons for his loyal support, his battle with the media, and who’s obstructing him in Washington.

Limbaugh blasts news media attacks on Trump as pointless, ‘kind of comical’
Conservative radio star Rush Limbaugh on Sunday assailed the news media, suggesting its efforts to “destroy” Republican President Trump are “comical” and dismissing stories about Russia purportedly influencing the 2016 White House race in Trump’s favor.
“The media did not make Donald Trump, and they can’t destroy him,” Limbaugh said on “Fox News Sunday.”
He suggested some major, liberal-leaning news agencies “have a formula … a blueprint for destroying Republican political officials they don’t like.”
“It’s not going to work on Trump,” Limbaugh continued. “It’s kind of comical to watch.”
To be sure, a big part of Trump’s winning campaign strategy was to argue that the liberal media was backing Democratic rival Hillary Clinton and that it failed to recognize the concerns of Trump and his supporters.
“Trump has a connection with his voters that most politicians don’t,” Limbaugh said. “And that connection .. is not anything that anybody else can break.”
He suggested Trump won because Americans had fears about the direction in which the country was going, not because Russia meddled in the race.

A candidate who somehow was able to turn chaos into political gold in the context of the 2016 presidential campaign is struggling mightily to do the same as president. It feels as though Trump is always on defense, always fighting battles on disadvantageous ground.
Rush Limbaugh, the conservative talk radio host, has a solution — and a very good one — to Trump’s current malaise. Here’s an excerpt of Limbaugh’s advice from his show on Wednesday:
I’m gonna tell you what I think is the best thing Donald Trump could do. Just focus on repealing Obamacare, and then focus on tax reform, and then just move full speed ahead on the domestic agenda. Make tracks. Do it obviously. Bring in people, have meetings, bring the Republicans up, the Democrats up, as the president in a room telling them: This is why we were all elected, it’s why you lost, this is what we’re gonna do. Work together to move these tax cuts forward, reform the tax code, repeal Obamacare.
This is a valid point. Trump will get a wide berth from voters on the small stuff if he delivers solid results.

It’s not so much that people feared a Hillary! presidency as that they knew damn well that a Hillary! presidency would spell the end of the United States.
If anyone missed this during the campaign, this was the best piece of writing anyone did during the campaign, imho.

This captures what I was thinking when I voted for Trump better than anything else anyone has ever written.
I haven’t listened to Rush since he went all in for Trump.
He is correct – if the Congress will just get to work ad REPEAL every SINGLE WORD of ObamaCare, and implement MAJOR tax reform, then he will be able to get the economy roaring back.
(Yes, I know it sounds very familiar. Another reason I can’t stand Rush anymore, BTW. #UnderTheBus )
Trump and the political left, they both concern me. For instance, everyone is familiar with the long term resistance of the Muslim jihadi’s. The only thing they respect is $$$ and over-whelming power. Slack off on either of these control agents, and the attacks start up again. The same with the political left, decade by decade they grow stronger and more prevalent. Sure Obama ruined the Democrat party for a season, but the remnants are viciously looking to unify and oppose anything conservatives have to propose.
Then there’s President Trump, a man for such a time as this – but can he endure for 8 long years? I hope and pray that he can. All the time, the liberals are plotting on how to regain power.

Of COURSE Obama and the left have been loading up the bureaurcracy with die-hard fellow-travelers. What do you think they’ve been doing for YEARS in state governments, in the judiciary, etc.?! It’s not a conspiracy when they openly admit it is what they’re goal is (again, see Alinsky’s rules, and the book Radical in Chief by Stanley Kurtz ).
I agree with Rush, though I expressed it differently. I wondered how long it would take, if ever, for America to recover from a Hillary presidency. I certainly did not believe, short of an act of God, that we would recover in my lifetime.

Superficial analysis. The press tells us that Trump is always on defense. But who the hell believes the press? And what do you expect the press to say? Something which makes it seem like they’re winning, of course; that’s the essence of propaganda. But they’re not even on the real battlefield. Just as he did during the campaign, Trump keeps them chasing after chopped fish, while he’s free to do his work unmolested. And how does he do it? With tweets! He expends no resources whatever, just a few casual words—trivial stuff, he doesn’t even need to devote any thought to it—and the press goes berserk. Mission Accomplished.
Repealing Obamacare is NOT Trump’s first priority. That will be long and difficult and, most importantly, can’t be done without Congress. And what would the ideal outcome be? Even if a magic wand could restore the health-insurance status quo ante, what would we have? A horribly expensive health care system, and one getting more expensive by the day, in an endless spiral. In other words, a failure … just a different failure than the one bequeathed us by the D’rats. But of course even though it’s old hat, Trump will take the blame. In any event, Congress will fight him every step of the way, even the Republicans.
No. His first priority is halting the invasion. That’s why he became a powerhouse candidate—the only person in any party who was willing to even talk about the crisis. Mexican illegals, a tidal wave of philosophically alien Muslim “refugees”, and the PC culture which destroys American congnitive abilities and allows the flood to happen. And to defeat all this, he doesn’t need much from Congress—all he has to do is a bit of that “faithful execution” of laws which already exist, using Federal departments which also already exist, and courts which already … etc, etc.
Which is exactly what he’s been doing. The press hasn’t succeeded in derailing him at all.
