Mika doesn’t want Kellyanne to appear on Morning Joe

Mika doesn’t want Kellyanne to appear on Morning Joe

Mika: ‘she tries to book herself on this show. I won’t do it.’

As far as Mika Brzezinski is concerned, Kellyanne Conway should not be permitted to appear on Morning Joe. Said Mika this morning: “Joe was just saying that she books herself on these shows, we know for a fact she tries to book herself on this show. I won’t do it. Because I don’t believe in fake news or information that is not true.”

Later, Mika laid down a personal marker, a virtual ultimatum. Warning Conway not to contact the show, Mika said: “I will say, Kellyanne Conway does not need to text our show. At least, as long as I’m on it. Because it’s not happening here.”

Note: on yesterday’s show, Joe Scarborough repeatedly accused Conway of “lying” about various matters. Today, he said that, seeing some of the headlines, he felt “badly” because his language was “so harsh, and I’m going to take it back about her, quote, lying.”

But Scarborough went on to say that “it is equally as bad” that Conway “makes things up.” Scarborough asserted that Conway is out of the loop, doesn’t attend key meetings, but is saying things “just to get in front of the TV set and prove her relevance.”

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Joe was just saying that she books herself on these shows, we know for a fact she tries to book herself on this show. I won’t do it. Because I don’t believe in fake news or information that is not true. Every time I’ve ever seen her on television something’s askew, off or incorrect . . . I will say, Kellyanne Conway does not need to text our show. At least, as long as I’m on it. Because it’s not happening here.”

Jealous much, Mika?

Nothing like calling someone out and saying you can’t come respond. Pure bravery.

If anything, this might be a producer ploy for this dog and pony show to get her to come on.

why is this show ALWAYS featured on LI ?

the show never supports conservative ideas and only leads to me
wanting to skip these posts.
– what is the advantage of publicizing these ignorant people who intentionally want to bring down the Trump administration?

I wouldn’t want to take on an entire armored division, but you and mrboxty have raised issues that merit a response. I’ve written this kind of thing before in response to similar comments, and hope you will find it useful.

I came to Legal Insurrection from NewsBusters, whose motto is “exposing and combating liberal media bias.” I try to do the same kind of thing here.

Morning Joe was my regular blogging beat at NewsBusters for years before I came to Legal Insurrection. That said, if you check my archive here, you’ll find that I have blogged on a variety of networks and shows. Just yesterday, for example, I dissected David Gregory’s claim on CNN that Trump’s foreign policy is a “disaster.”

In the future, I intend to further diversify my blogging subjects.

And while there is plenty of liberal opinion expressed at Morning Joe, Joe and Mika were among the first in the MSM to take Trump’s candidacy seriously.

Right from the time of his announcement and during the primaries, they advanced the notion that he had a serious shot at the nomination, at a time when other were writing him off as a joke.

They’ve had their falling-outs, and are often critical of him nowadays, but have given favorable coverage to many of his cabinet picks and have commended a number of his initiatives. For example, this morning when they gave him high marks for spending a long weekend with the Japanese PM. So it’s a mixed bag and I try to give our readers a sense of it all.

They also attract top guests, and because of the three-hour show length, have extended, in-depth interviews that other shows don’t offer. Trump himself was a very frequent phone guest during the earlier stages of the primaries, and Joe and Mika still have good sources within his administration and occasionally speak with the president himself.

So all in all, I think readers will find value in my reports on the show, although I understand that they are definitely not everyone’s cup of tea.

But please continue to check in and comment on my work: you’ll find a variety of subjects, and I will be interested to get your takes.

    Mark

I like your write-ups. As it has been said before – you watch it so we don’t have to!

It’s amazing that people just don’t know how to scroll down past posts they are not interested, but feel compelled to make a comment complaining about the post.

I may have been the first to question the constant focus on Morning Joe, and if so, sorry about that, lol. The first explanation was that Morning Joe was a good way to keep up with how the left was thinking. My response was that I was unaware of any mystery or questions as to how the left was thinking. I was familiar with and appreciative of Mark’s work at Newsbusters long before he came to Legal Insurrection, and my minor beef never had anything to do with him personally. While others do, I personally derive nothing of value from these posts, and so I vote with my feet and skip past them. My real beef is this – having Mark Finkelstein on staff at Legal Insurrection mostly doing Morning Joe episode recaps is like having a new Porsche in the driveway but using it only to haul trash to the curb.

I think the idea here (of those averse to news on the happenings of the rino porn powerful-republicans/jumbo-shrimp pleasure themselves to) is perhaps it gives this kind of propaganda too much weight.

It’s funny, but we don’t need much news of the goings on of the democrat media, because we can predict it.

A short blip of a round-up of all the day’s democrat fake news might be better, instead of lending so much weight and intention to any one in particular.

If all you want is to see conservative material, you are guilty of creating a personal echo chamber and will find yourself surprised by events you did not see coming… Just like the Dems were unaware of the disconnect with the public that gave us the current President… One has to study the enemy, we already know what we are. Example: Patton read Rommel’s book on armor warfare.

Bonus: Mark watches and reports, thus saving the rest of us the angst of having to watch on a regular basis. He deserves a medal, or something.

Patton read Rommel’s book on armor warfare.

As a point of historical interest, Rommel never wrote such a book. Some portions in manuscript apparently exist, but he never came close to completing it. The cover of the book appeared in 1970’s Patton, but it was fictional; a prop.

Rommel’s book published in German in 1937 was Infanterie Greift An, or Infantry Attacks—interesting enough, but not about armor.

Please name one commenter who has said they want only conservative material or acknowledge your straw man.

One more time, the headline has “Morning Joe” in it. Don’t read it if it upsets you so much.

I like the reports. Informative. I don’t have to watch, Mark reports.

You don’t have to watch, nor do you have to read the report by Mark.

Is someone forcing you to read?

Kellyanne Conway is whip-smart, appealing, and perfectly capable of defending herself. No wonder Mika is afraid of her.

We are getting the same response across the board, in California. They are so afraid of Milo they throw riots, and so afraid of Betsy DeVos that they won’t even discuss extending an invitation to visit and let them make their points to her.

I think we have them surrounded.

Oh, yeah, and they want the President to pick up the bill for their improperly-maintained dams! Yes, there is more that one, and yes, the voters approved the money for the jobs in a timely fashion, and yes the politicians spent it all on other things, and anybody who notices any of this is a Nazi. In Texas, they would say “it’s getting a little deep, around here.”

Insufficiently Sensitive | February 15, 2017 at 10:24 am

Fearless journalists, sweeping aside interviewee cloaks to expose The Truth? Not no, but hell no. Mika fears she’s outgunned, and won’t come out from under the bed.

It’s click bait. I don’t know if LI is still a conservative blog or an ad revenue generator.

    “I don’t know if…”

I don’t know if you are a moron.

It’s a blog. This thread has “Morning Joe” in the headline. Just skip it if it bothers you so much. Or, are you saying you are susceptible to click bait? If so, maybe the answer is in sentence 2.

That’s rich.

I wonder when we will start hearing news reports with: “We tried to contact the Trump administration for comment, but they would only send KellyAnne so …”

Oh and the picture looks like a bad photoshop. just saying.

whoever watches mslsd deserves mikhael & joel…

Have no fear, when it comes to Mika and Morning Joe, Mark Finkelstein is on the job.

Let’s ask him for his opinion about Mika and Scarborough on this issue – Mark? Care to share?

Mark Finkelstein in reply to valegorge. | February 15, 2017 at 12:01 pm

I have called Kellyanne the MVP of the campaign. I sincerely believe Trump would not have won without her influence on him, and without her serving as a key campaign spokesman. I’ve also said that if I were in the trenches, I’d want Kellyanne there. She is very gifted, gritty, and fearless.

That said, there’s always infighting and turf wars within new administrations. I don’t have any personal information about what’s going on within the Trump administration, but Scarborough’s reporting that Kellyanne might be in conflict with some of the other members, and that she is being shut out of some important meetings, does not surprise me and could well be true.

Kellyanne is formidable and great, but might she be trying to maintain her relevance by seeking to appear on shows, and might she not always have the facts at her disposal that she would if she were in the inner loop? It’s possible.

I have a hard time believing that she goes on shows without approval and being briefed. I also think that the idea that she can’t go on their show because she is fake news is rich. First, because the The Morning Joe presents more fake news in an hour than Kellyanne does in a month. Second, because of all the BS that has been spewed by Obama spokespeople over the years. “It’s a movie” when refering to Bengazi sound familiar? Kellyanne is likeable and effective, and that is why they don’t want her.

It’s rich. Purveyors of fake news complain someone is fake news.

In other words, KC makes us look like the idiots we are. That cannot be tolerated.

Kellyanne is getting out of having to appear in rino porn.

Lucky her.

I think the analysis is helpful. Many who disregard much MM coverage consider Joe differently. I don’t agree, but the 700k watching aren’t all wacky leftists, rather the business folks who are just a little squishy. They are the few for whom we can hold out a little hope, i know some who even voted for Trump.

Conway won’t appear on Morning Joe because neither host wants to be eaten alive on air. Can you really blame them? Tough to control content after the first 15 seconds with a guest as combative as Conway.

Why its almost as though Mika got her job by being a hard hitting daughter of a political hack!

Where would Mika be if she were not the daughter of a failed Carter Administration Security Adviser? Wonder if this was ran past both of her viewers?

I think the MSNBC crowd is so flipping crazy that having an interview with Kellyanne is a no win situation for Mika. She either has to be a hack and embarrass herself or she tries to play it straight and the MSNBC nutters call for her head. I think CNN and the other networks have basically put themselves in a similar problem.I think that is why she is opting to have no part in an interview with Kellyanne.

Come on, Mika. I mean besides a few statements by Ms. Conway that have been twisted and taken out of context, your reaction is way over the top. It’s not as if Conway was a failed talk show host; she’s got real accomplishments under her belt.

Whenever I see Mika and Joe or some other liberal tool, I always seem to hear the same things. Those who are committing violence lash out against the conservatives for being so violent, those who continually lie lash out at conservatives for being dishonest, those who are utter failures lash out at Trump for failing….. So what’s new?

If I were Trump, no admin officials would appear on MJ.
