A New Conservative News Network?

A New Conservative News Network?

With mysterious origins

Fox News’ declining brand value and an entire populace convinced the establishment media wants Hillary to be president has created a vacuum in the cable news world.

An unknown individual or group sent out casting notice for an, “up-and-coming conservative media network currently in development”.

Fox News has the story:

What’s being billed as an “up-and-coming conservative media network currently in development” is now scouring for hosts, reporters and right-leaning, well-spoken panelists, according to a brand new casting notice obtained Wednesday evening by Fox News.

The notice goes on to say the on-air talent the network wants “must be knowledgeable about conservative viewpoints, current events and the presidential election,” adding applicants must also “look upscale and intelligent,” and should be “outspoken and energetic.”

Auditions are being held at an undisclosed New York City studio on Nov. 7, the eve of Election Day.

While the casting call doesn’t identify any specific employer, it does suggest initial programming will be streamed on the internet, infrastructure the Trump campaign has already set up through its Facebook live feed where aides have been broadcasting events and counter news programming.

Is Trump behind this mysterious endeavor? He says no.

Trump himself shot down the idea, telling the Washington Post last month, “I want to win the presidency and I want to make America great again. It’s very simple. I have no interest in a media company.”

Do we really need yet another news network with a confirmed ideological bent? Can’t we just have a news network that you know, reports the news?

Might it be this one: CRTV. From it’s homepage:
“CRTV is your source for the most thought-provoking personalities and conservative ideas that are not available from traditional media outlets. CRTV has developed a new style in producing compelling content with stunning production quality and unique broadcast sets built to capture the individual personality and passion of each program. CRTV is developing the best programming – advocating freedom and liberty – that is delivered directly to viewers – when and where they want it.”

Apparently, it’s a venture of Levin, Malkin, and Steyn.

Dennis Michael Lynch? He’s on FB. He objected to trashing Trump, as I recall, and they cut off during a live broadcast.

Okay, I didn’t type that correctly.

Dennis Michael Lynch had a show on NewsMax that aired at 9:00 p.m. live 5 days a week. They wanted him to criticize someone or something (can’t recall – maybe it was Fox News) and he said live on the air he wouldn’t do it, because whomever it was, they had been one of the few that had supported and not trashed Trump. So they cut him off, live.

So he’s migrated to FB to do his own live-streaming, and he said Wednesday or Thursday that he’s be doing live-streaming on FB election night. I don’t recall how many hours of it…

Wilkow mentioned that he had been approached about a TV show, a while back.

Can’t we just have a news network that you know, reports the news?

I have a feeling such a network would blow the current networks out of the water, ratings wise. Which means it could make a lot of money for the owners. Which makes me wonder: why hasn’t it been tried yet?

“Can’t we just have a news network that you know, reports the news?”

You won’t get that from Levin, Malkin, and Steyn, and I won’t watch it.

I was hearing it’s Breitbart. That would be great.

“Can’t we just have a news network that you know, reports the news?”

Not anymore. That’s like wanting us to march into battle like the Redcoats did, rank and file. While enemy irregulars snipe us to death from the treetops.

If we could clear the board of the likes of CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS etc then I would be with you. But the only reason AM Talk Radio exists is because the Left took over the media and drove conservatives out, so we had to set up a parallel venue just to exercise our freedom of speech. The net is similar, which is why there are these calls to hand the internet over to some EU commission to censor “hateful toxic” sites like Legal Insurrection.

How’s that been going, btw? I see that you’ve kept to the high road, and your analysis of all the “racist” police shootings as been outstanding. But have you had any other success? Influenced legal change? Just curious.

A conservative network would likely maintain a fairly bright line division between news reporting, and commentary.

If it did that, the news part of the network would be just reporting the news.

And yes, such an entity, to be durable, does need to be explicitly conservative, as any such entity that is not explicitly conservative will inevitably become more and more liberal over time. Witness the current lamestream media.

We need someone other than Fox. They hire way too many Libtards. I’ve quit watching any of their shows.

When were they “pure” from the conservative viewpoint? I don’t remember it. But I didn’t start paying attention to them until around 1999 or 2000.

I don’t think a “pure” conservative channel will work in broadcast or cable. And by “work” I mean get enough viewership to grow like FNC did. It is still a money making machine by comparison to the other news competitors and even compared to many other entertainment channels (cable). T

A new age conservative outlet should be the target. Leveraging more than just cable – satellite, internet, etc.

FOX is responsible for much of the Celebrity Journalism today.

They were the Return of the King back in the 90s, and the only channel that was getting out the opposing side’s view in instances like the Florida 2000 recount. But they’ve become corrupted.

I remember writing them a letter, warning them of this. I wanted sharp analysis like we got from Brit Hume on Grapevine. Instead, I was getting drek like Red Eye – 5 people trying to outsnark each other for laughs with some news peppered in as joke material.

“Not our target audience” was the response from FOX.

They were never a pure, conservative network. Not sure what you mean by “corrupted” unless you are referring to bad behavior like Ailes.

I never used the word “pure”

And what I mean by “corrupted” is Vanity. They moved from hard analysis (Brit Hume, Grapevine) and basic honest reporting that refuted the MSM narratives (Dessert Storm, Florida 2000 recount) to Celebrity fluff like BillO’Reilly, Meagyn Kelly, and the innane snark of RedEye.

Kelly is the perfect example – she started as a hard-nosed reporter dug into the story and didn’t put up with spin. Now she is a Celebrity Journalist, the news is about HER not the story. She wants to be famous at our expense, sell a lot of books like O’Reilly, and be regarded as a Super Star. Vanity. Corruption. She will throw Truth under the bus to promote herself.

“Do we really need yet another news network with a confirmed ideological bent?”

I have a better idea. How about we create a network DEVOTED to exposing the alphabet group’s distortions and lies? Oh, there could be everyday news during the daytime but in the evening they could dissect all of the other news sources with data and irrefutable facts and expose the msm for the liars they are. I just watched ABC news and they had five minutes of hillary giving her speeches and hugging people and then they showed Melania Trump before she gave her Pennsylvania speech today but first they brought up the Repub convention speech and said she plagiarized Michell obama’s speech. Then they went on to show how Trump was losing and essentially everything they said about Trump or his wife was negative. This goes on every single night! I think just having a conservative network would amount to he-said-she-said because it would be viewed as just opinions. But if we had a James O’Keefe type veritas program then the left could be shown lying and distorting the news. It could be called Watchdog news or NOBSN!

I think Jared Kushner has had his eye on this for a while. So my guess is that it is him. He is a very bright young man.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/18/us/politics/donald-trump-tv-jared-kushner.html

Jared Kushner is from a family of Democrats and he is no more of a conservative than Donald Trump is – which means he is not leaning right. His talent appears to consist of his latching onto Ivanka.

Trump’s apparent fallback from an election loss is to become a cable network executive and he is being pushed in that direction by Steve Bannon. So don’t be surprised when the al Jazeera cable slot becomes Trump-TV. Al Gore will have a conniption fit.

      PhillyGuy in reply to gad-fly. | November 4, 2016 at 3:36 pm

The harder problem will be disentangling Trump from his businesses after he wins on Tuesday.

And yes Jared has been interested in a conservative network for a while now. While I don’t know specifically that is him I would not doubt it.

The Breitbart organization has been angling for a bigger media presence for a while. For well over a year they have been going negative on other conservative websites, especially The Blaze, and have really had FNC in their crosshairs since they become so fully in the Trump camp. Maybe a little before that.

And they already have a satellite radio presence going.

So as far as rumors go, any that suggest it might be them could be the more credible. Who knows at this point, though.

IMO, the idea that we won’t support anything but a pure conservative network is just as self defeating as the idea that we won’t vote for a candidate that isn’t pure conservative. What we want from any network is a fair hearing and honest reporting. We want panelists who actually understand the subject they are discussing and moderators who don’t take sides. Given a fair hearing, conservative ideas will win. That’s why the left works so hard to prevent it.

Kemberlee: Screw all this political stuff, we want to know how you and baby K.C. are getting along!

Do you really believe it’s possible to have a news outlet that just “reports the news” without bias? I don’t believe it’s possible when human beings are involved and I don’t believe it’s ever existed at any time in human history.

People may be able to disguise their biases enough to fool others, but the biases are still there and can be seen in everything from the tone of a straight news story to what stories are chosen to be covered and what aren’t.

It is flatly impossible for a human being to report on anything without coloring the story with the shade of the lenses on their own worldview.

I much prefer organizations that are up front and clear about their biases than ones who are just as biased, but try to claim they are nothing more than objective reporters of fact. BS. Basically, what I’m saying is I prefer honesty over subterfuge. Duh.

the classic commentary is that all organizations eventually decay to the left and it takes extraordinary measures to delay the decay.

Tolerance of Megyn Kelly’s self-serving rants turned me off of Fox.
If they really are ditching her perhaps there is hope.

Between OneAmerica News Network, NewsMax TV and TheBlaze TV, I would say conservative news is pretty saturated right now. If not oversaturated.
