Report: Germans Told to Stockpile Food and Water in Case of Attack or Catastrophe

. . . for the first time since the end of the Cold War

As Germany’s Angela Merkel faces increasing pressure regarding her nation’s security, the German government has issued a civil defense report addressing the role the German people are to play.

Reuters reports:

For the first time since the end of the Cold War, the German government plans to tell citizens to stockpile food and water in case of an attack or catastrophe, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung newspaper reported on Sunday.

Germany is currently on high alert after two Islamist attacks and a shooting rampage by a mentally unstable teenager last month. Berlin announced measures earlier this month to spend considerably more on its police and security forces and to create a special unit to counter cyber crime and terrorism.

“The population will be obliged to hold an individual supply of food for ten days,” the newspaper quoted the government’s “Concept for Civil Defence” – which has been prepared by the Interior Ministry – as saying.

It’s not clear whether this obligation will be mandatory and enforced or if this is simply a common sense measure much like the ones our own government recommends.  DHS recommends that Americans keep on hand a three-day supply of food and water, and FEMA recommends keeping a two-week supply of food and water.

While the German civil defense report is still being debated and has not been released in full, the plan, as initially reported by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, will apparently include a basic requirement of a stockpiled five-day supply of drinking water and other measures to “prepare appropriately for a development that could threaten our existence.”

Reuters continues:

A spokesman for the Interior Ministry said the plan would be discussed by the cabinet on Wednesday and presented by the minister that afternoon. He declined to give any details on the content.

People will be required to stockpile enough drinking water to last for five days, according to the plan, the paper said.

The 69-page report does not see an attack on Germany’s territory, which would require a conventional style of national defense, as likely.

However, the precautionary measures demand that people “prepare appropriately for a development that could threaten our existence and cannot be categorically ruled out in the future,” the paper cited the report as saying.

It also mentions the necessity of a reliable alarm system, better structural protection of buildings and more capacity in the health system, the paper said.

A further priority should be more support of the armed forces by civilians, it added.

Reuters also notes that “Germany’s Defence Minister said earlier this month the country lay in the ‘crosshairs of terrorism’ and pressed for plans for the military to train more closely with police in preparing for potential large-scale militant attacks.”

All while letting in thousands of Muslims who are potential terrorists. Brilliant.

It seems to me that Merkel’s decisions have positioned Germany’s future to look rather bleak for quite some time to come. I wonder how well prepared German citizens are to defend themselves, or are they nearly entirely relying on the police and military?

She must be nostalgic for her East German childhood.

Muslims and the German government are the only ones with guns, no guns equals no freedom.

Seeing pictures of both Steve Bannon and Angela Merkel on the same page the resemblance is remarkable (I know this because I just remarked on it).

Remember how Rome fell by allowing barbarians to enter the empire as chronicled in Invasion of Europe by the Barbarians? Merkel et al didn’t read this book.

They should stockpile ammo.

And weapons……… 🙂

There are progressive wars that create refugee crises (i.e. coverups); Obama, Clinton’s reset of the cold war with Russia; progressive debt (i.e. devaluation of capital and labor); redistributive change (i.e. trickle-up poverty); anti-native policies; class diversity schemes (e.g. racism, sexism); the progressive collateral damage from the female chauvinists’ revolution that terminates over one million human lives annually in abortion chambers (and Planned Parenthood) in America alone; the green/clean blight (save Bambi!); etc.

Angela-you Ignorant STASI slut-deport/kill all muzzies…I know your puppetmaster-SOROS won’t be happy

Last month the Swedish Govt. Ministers went on National Radio(as I posted here at LE in the Reader Forum) to tell Swedes that violence across Europe may disrupt national food supply lines and every Swede should have a food stockpile of three to five days. Now, a month later Germany tells Germans the same. The situation is not getting better here.

Swedish Ministers also spoke of long term plans to produce more food in Sweden to reduce the threat of lack of food supplies here in Sweden. This is a project that has problems and is in its infancy.

When serious govt. ministers start talking logistics & food supplies it really is time to consider the very serious matters we face.

Sounds most like prepping for an EMP attack. Most of the people live in urban areas and be most affected by no water because the pumps need electricity. People have never lived without electricity and do not realize how dependent they are on it.

It doesn’t even need to be an EMP attack. Terrorists could just blow up a couple of power stations old-school, and pretty effectively take down the grid for a fair while.

They’re “obliging” their citizens to hold 10 days’ worth of food but only 5 days’ worth of water?

I’m no prepper, but I do live in a hurricane-prone area, and if I had to “go short” on one or the other, it would be the other way around. The average human can go a lot longer without food than without potable water.

Water is derived locally. Our water coming downhill from our local lakes & reservoirs are not expected to be effected by interruptions on highways, railways and ports as food sources from other EU countries & outside countries are already expected to be interrupted.

Not about muslim immigrants, or they would have included a caution about inviting rape by wearing skirts that were too short.
