“Burn the American Flags” Event

“Burn the American Flags” Event

Inevitable that it would turn to this.

A group called Disarm NYPD plans to celebrate the 4th of July with an July 1 event featuring the burning of American flags.

It started as an event to burn the Confederate Flag. But other groups around the country turned such events into burning both the Confederate and American flags, so the Disarm NYPD group changed the name of the event, as announced on a Facebook Event page:

We changed the name of this event to “Burn the American Flag.” We did this for several reasons, all of which are hopefully obvious, and should ring true to everyone with a conscious. The Confederate flag has long been a symbol of white supremacy, slavery, and Jim Crow. However, the Confederacy lost the war the American flag has unceasingly, from the first day it was ever hung, represented the exact same thing.

As the event got attention, outrage mounted:

Disarm NYPD added this statement on Facebook:

Last week, we created an event called “Burn the American Flags”, which has invoked quite a reaction from people, both positive and negative. What we had intended to be a decidedly small, unspectacular gathering of burning symbols of oppression has been shared thousands of times and has been picked up by the press. We feel that we should take this opportunity to further clarify our position on the subject.

We maintain, unwaveringly, that both the Confederate flag, and the American flag are symbols of oppression….

Despite this, many people are rather offended by our decision to burn the American flag. We find it a sign of the times that people can care so much about a piece of cloth, while at the same time be so quiet about black churches being burned all over the country. Perhaps this is the great difference between us and the so-called “patriots”. While they express their loyalty to symbols, we express our loyalty to the lives of the oppressed.

We do not believe the ideals of America are anything to be revered…. So, we will burn the American flag, a symbol of oppression and genocide, and in the same action, dismantle our stunted, cynical expectations of what is possible in the world. The current trajectory of history is unsustainable. It is completely unrealistic to desire things stay as they are, and more unrealistic, even abominable, to desire to “go back to our roots”. We, the dreamers, are the true realists. We know things can’t continue this way, so we commit to building a better world. A world better than America.

Rush Limbaugh may have been the first person to predict this turn:

And I’ll make another prediction to you. The next flag that will come under assault, and it will not be long, is the American flag. Do not look at me that way. It makes perfect sense. If you take a look at the timeline of progressive events, their speed and rapidity with which the left is conducting this assault on all of these American traditions and institutions, if you don’t think the American flag’s in their crosshairs down the road, you had better stop and reconsider.

The American flag is what? It’s the symbol of America. The left what? Doesn’t like this country very much and never has and it’s getting angrier and angrier about it seemingly every day. The American flag stands for the United States of America and, as such, everything that’s wrong with it. And you wait. It isn’t gonna be long before the American flag is gonna cause chills, fear, scary thoughts, it’s gonna make me nervous, the American flag, when I see the American flag, it’s a symbol of hate.

You wait, folks. You wait.

Flag burning is constitutionally protected speech, according to the U.S. Supreme Court.

So no one can stop them. All we can do is learn about what motivates some protesters.

Cool. Do it somewhere else.

Cuba is opening up, and, hey, they have a racist regime fer reals.

Go there. Show them how it’s done…!!!

America set them free. They can always return to their bondage in Africa. Perhaps with a burning tire halo in some progressive nation. Their black and Arab masters await their return.

On the bright side, an English teacher was fired by the Martinsville, Illinois school board for stomping on the flag in class. Gotta love southern Illinois.

Why don’t they go to Liberia, or one of those other African paradises?

I’ll chip in for the plane fare. As long as they agree to never, ever come back here.

All of the ’60s radicals: environmental extremists; homosexual activists; feminist supremacists; black activists; and Marxists have spent decades infiltrating academia and media with the goal of changing the country’s values, mores, norms, and customs. They have won.

My family will not spill one drop of blood defending any of it if I can help it. I proudly enlisted as a combat infantryman for one enlistment in the early ’80s. I would have been on the front line to die had Ronald Reagan deemed it necessary to go to battle to defend America’s interests and values. There is no way I would enlist today. There is nothing left that I want to defend. The environmentalists, homosexuals, feminists, black nationalists, and Marxists who lead the country better be prepared to put on the uniform to defend what they’ve created. Because if my grandkids, grand-nieces and grand-nephews will listen to me, I will strongly urge them not to serve. And I say that as someone who comes from a family with a long tradition of military service. I served. My brother is a retired Air Force lifer. My dad fought in Korea. Two of three uncles on my mother’s side and a cousin on my dad’s side all fought in Vietnam – one got a purple heart. And my wife’s youngest brother lost a leg, broke several vertebrae in his back, lost most of his teeth, punctured a lung and spleen and received other smaller injuries too numerous to mention when the helicopter he was piloting went down in Iraq in 2006.

In short, let them defend what they’ve created. I will do everything in my power to not allow one drop of my family’s blood be spilled defending it. I can’t be the only one who thinks this way.

“The Confederate flag has long been a symbol of white supremacy, slavery, and Jim Crow.”

And that is why they aren’t going to burn it – it stands for the democrat party…

Actually, the Confederate flag stands for white southerners who supported slavery and then racial segregation. It was the flag of men like Strom Thurmond who then became Republicans.

Oh lets hope January 2017 sees a change , Please Republicans don’t ruin this , get someone with some conservative ideals that can win . Don’t implode on yourself as you do so often . Please God

The majority of SCOTUS wants you to know that you have equal dignity with homosexuals and flag burners.

I support this.

Free speech is a great way to encourage people to publicly self-identify.

Is it OK if we question their patriotism?

Let’s burn the rainbow flag – after all, it’s just a piece of cloth ~

I support their right to burn the flag, or any other inanimate object, in accordance with appropriate ordinances with regard to outside burning, and assuming they have the property rights to the object to be burned. I think we should encourage those among us who are traitors to stand up and say so, that we might heap upon them the scorn that their bad ideas richly deserve, and so that their humiliation can serve as a warning to others.

You never want to discover who the traitors are after the bullets start flying.

A Short Quiz: What do the following have in common?

1) Benedict Arnold
2) Guy Fawkes
3) Vidkun Quisling
4) Mir Jafar
5) Barack Obama

The park they have located to torch the American flags does not allow open burning. They can be stopped.

The governing park service, I’m sure, will allow an exception for this event.

The question is, if someone were to try to make an event out of burning an ISIS flag or a rainbow flag, would they grant an exception for that, too?

A “Draw Muhammad On A Rainbow Flag” event could be interesting.

it would be a cool stunt if someone burned a rainbow flag at their event … in the name of diversity. While wearing a Che shirt.

So they’re burning the American flag as a show of solidarity with Dylan Roof.

America is indeed a terrible place, so terrible that the flag burners should refuse to accept Welfare, food stamps, Medicaid, unemployment, workers comp, educational assistance, and so on.

The Democrats finally got a white psychopath killing a bunch of blacks, with apartheid patches and the confederate flag pics. And not just any blacks but wonderful Christian blacks, while actually in church. He’s like the antagonist in an Al Sharpton directed movie (except for not being tea party).

They’ve told us we are all racist, the KKK is in our genes. One of “us” finally barked at Obama’s dog whistle, they’d have all believe. So despite the 100 KKK (Kin Killin Kin) black on black murders since that, all focus is on any southern symbol, or heck, why not just condemn all white America, that doesn’t sound racist at all.

Roof couldn’t even find KKK to help him out, and he was a punk druggie kid, not some white supremacist leader. Why haven’t we heard more about him by now?

The Daily Beast has an article with interesting insight. The author doesn’t quite get the Trayvon case right, but better than average. Roof’s manifesto seems to have come from online troll group called 4chan, a sort of fascist/racist offshoot from anonymous.

If there is a single event that sparked the current period of social unrest, the national controversy around race and policing, … it is the night in February 2012 when a mixed-race Florida man, alarmed by the presence of an unarmed black teenager in his community, confronted and killed him after a struggle.

Well, alarmed is not very accurate, nor was race an issue, and it seems GZ was confronted not the confronter, and it wasn’t a struggle, GZ was getting beaten badly. But it’s the Daily Beast.

One anonymous Internet user hacked Martin’s email and social media accounts and posted the results online in an effort to depict him as a thug and drug user, and justify his shooting death. The hacker, who went by the name Klanklannon, posted an edited, slideshow version of the messages stolen from Martin’s accounts. Klanklannon, as the name suggested, was a white supremacist, and a member of 4chan’s political message board, “/pol/,” which is where the hacks were first posted.

“The event that truly awakened me,” Dylann Roof wrote before walking into a church in South Carolina and killing nine of the black parishioners who had invited him into their Bible study group, “was the Trayvon Martin case.”

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/06/29/dylann-roof-4chan-and-the-new-online-racism.html

Anyway, it’s interesting in that it relates to the online activism that gets out of control, especially when mixed with serious drugs. It relates to anonymous, and even to the ISIS efforts online to inspire the lone wolf terrorist. The online addictions, texting, sexting, … a brave new world.

Those Trayvon hacks were indeed enlightening, even though they came from klan guy. It revealed that Trayvon was not the 12 year old with candy the media fed us, and that Obama had gone the Sharpton route, coordinating with Holder and the MSM to apparently drum up race riots. He repeated the act in Ferguson, when Holder tried to suppress the video showing Brown as a thug, not a gentle giant.

Too bad they didn’t hack Hillary’s and Lerner’s emails. I guess we are in WW3, and it is digital.
