Isn’t that the sad truth. Because being perceived as the bad people that shut down the government led to them absolutely getting crushed in the mid-terms. They didn’t? Imagine that.
Would that we had true Constitutional conservative LEADERSHIP, with the eggs to tell the press and the left(but I repeat myself) to STUFF IT when challenged.
I no longer believe that the Republican “leadership” is afraid of a shutdown. Rather, I believe that the supposedly horrible impact of a “shutdown” is used by the so-called leadership to achieve their goals of government growth, immigration “reform,” and ensuring the viability of obamacare.
After every one of the three most recent shutdowns, the GOP gained seats or or otherwise won the following election. That it’s bad politics is a myth that a limp-wristed milquetoast GOP leadership sells as cover for their refusal to fight.
Yet another reason why term limits make sense. If some old crusty pol gets himself/herself permanently ensconced at the the DC feeding trough, they become a great target for blackmail, don’t they? Flush them out after a couple of terms, no exceptions. That would take leverage away from corrupt scum-sucking pieces of shit like those that come from Chicago-style political machines.

Branco, I always enjoy your cartoons. Very succinct.
Perfect and wonderfully concise too!
My favorite cartoon yet. Perfect illustration of the self-neutered GOP.

GOP leadershipo is limp alright, and not just their wrists
Great cartoon, Branco and perfectly tells the story of what is happening. According to Matt Drudge that mouse could also have NSA written on it.
