It just never stops, does it?

It just never stops, does it?

Congressman Thompson (D-MS): “Now all of a sudden, government is the worst thing in the world since a black man became President.”

For those of you who missed it, Buzzfeed’s Andrew Kaczynski ran a post on Tuesday detailing the racist remarks Congressman Bennie Thompson made while on the radio program, New Nation of Islam. Thompson represents Mississippi’s 2nd congressional district, and has done so since 1993.

Thompson began his incoherent rant by saying that essentially any opposition to the President was racist.

“I’ve been in Washington. I saw three presidents now. I never saw George Bush treated like this. I never saw Bill Clinton treated like this with such disrespect,” Thompson said. “That Mitch McConnell would have the audacity to tell the president of the United States — not the chief executive, but the commander-in-chief — that ‘I don’t care what you come up with we’re going to be against it.’ Now if that’s not a racist statement I don’t know what is.”

So, despite lacking any indication that McConnell’s opposition to Obama is racially motivated, Thompson is comfortable coming to the conclusion because, if it is not, then he doesn’t know what is. When the only lens you view issues through is race, I suppose the logical result is that you see every unwanted occurrence in your life as racially motivated.

The simple fact is, Thompson is outright wrong (is that racist, by the way?).

President Bush was constantly disrespected. Kanye West famously said on live television during a Hurricane Katrina Relief drive, “George Bush doesn’t care about black people.” Al Sharpton, whilst running for President in 2003, said Bush sounded less like a President and more like a “gang leader in south central LA” (boy, doesn’t that carry some racial overtones?).

Actress and comedian Janeane Garofalo compared the Bush Administration to Hitler and the Nazis, calling it the “43rd Reich.” Actor Martin Sheen called him a “moron.” Actor Sean Penn called him a “traitor to human and American principles.”

Actress Jessica Lange said she “despised” President Bush, and opined, “There has to be a movement now to really oppose what he is proposing because it’s unconstitutional, it’s immoral and basically illegal….It is an embarrassing time to be an American. It really is. It’s humiliating.”

Commenting on the Bush Administration in his book in 2003, Michael Moore declared, “These bastards who run our country are a bunch of conniving, thieving, smug pricks who need to be brought down and removed and replaced with a whole new system that we control.

The list goes on, and on, and on. The disrespect leveled against President Bush during his eight years in office is, quite literally, too numerous to quantify.

Oddly, Rep. Thompson seems to have forgotten all of these disrespectful occurrences, and has even decided to dish out some racially motivated disrespect of his own. In the same interview on the New Nation of Islam, he called Justice Clarence Thomas an “Uncle Tom,” who “doesn’t like being black.”

Of course, Thompson couldn’t stop there. He then determined that opposition to the idea of big government was also racist.

Now all of a sudden, government is the worst thing in the world since a black man became President.

I hate to burst the esteemed Congressman’s bubble, but the phrase, “the nine most terrifying words in the English language are ‘I’m from the government, and I’m here to help,’” was said by Ronald Reagan while he (a white man) was occupying the oval office.

Thompson went on to further display his utter naiveté about his political opposition by declaring opposition to Obamacare as racist.

[W]hen a black man comes with an idea [for Obamacare] there’s something wrong with it. Again, it’s race creeping into the picture.

I guess the opposition to Hillarycare (right around the time Thompson was first elected to Congress) was sexist?

All this is to say, the American people deserve better from their elected officials. It’s bad enough for someone to utter these ridiculous notions amongst friends. But to go on a radio show and espouse these things to the public as if they were facts, without a single bit of evidence to back up what one is saying, is grossly irresponsible and unworthy of the seat to which the people elected him.

Rep. Thompson, however, feels no shame in his ignorant remarks. Indeed, he believes that, because of the color of his skin, he’s entitled to make them.

When CNN reporter Dana Bash noted that the term [Uncle Tom] wouldn’t be appropriate if used by someone who is white, Thompson replied, “But I’m black.”

A video of part of Thompson’s remarks is below.

“The simple fact is, Thompson is outright wrong (is that racist, by the way?).”

You have to ask…???

Unless you are black, Bryan (from your picture, you have to be “Liz Warren black”), OF COURSE saying anything critical about Rep. Thompson is RAAAAAAAAaaaaacist.

And, if you ARE black by some definition, you are an Uncle Tom for your ThoughtCrime.

Any other questions…???

As I’ve noted before: there is no bigot like an entitled bigot with permission from their Collective.

Every black person must have proof if they believe racism exists. If it’s a recording demonize the recorder. If it’s a conservative looking into a democratic administrations scandal no proof is needed. To an average citizen this is hypocrisy. Conservative commentators are real hypocrites. Proof needed for racism but none for Benghazi. Foolish conservative and lying cheating progressive liberals.

This moron doesn’t have the brains to argue his way out of a wet paper sack. Why grant him the dignity of responding to his imbecilic babblings. Remember, if you wrestle with a pig, you both get dirty, but the pig likes it.

I still remember how freely they called George W. Bush “The Village Idiot.”

Darn! They still do it. You can see right now here or here.

Is that racist too, or is it only racist when you criticize The Anointed One?

Knowledge, in its battle with ignorance, is handicapped: knowledge is always limited, but ignorance is limitless.

(paraphrase Sen. Sam Ervin)

there are some people that deserve to not be alive. I am not saying they need to be killed, just that they need to be no longer alive.

There’s always been a lot of tension between Lois and me, and it’s not so much that I want to kill her, it’s just, I want her not to be alive anymore.
-Stewie Griffin, Family Guy, “Fifteen Minutes of Shame”

No, it never stops. That’s by design. They don’t have to be honest, they don’t have to be accurate, they don’t have to be right, they don’t have to be smart, they don’t even have to be coherent; all they have to be is relentless.

I have been concerned about this as I go to public presentations focused on what is supposedly due in the name of justice and Equity. Instead, of an education in reality too many people of various races, ethnicities, genders, whatever, have been taught to think through the lens of why their group is aggrieved.

It is an excuse for Big Government and a planned society because it chooses to ignore the genuine sources of real differences. Instead of individual poor choices, the focus is all environmental. That way only a Marxist Human Development Society that is now being called King’s Beloved Community can be the solution.

Compare that moron with Kira Davis (YouTube video). h/t Joyanna Adams of Nobody’s Opinion

Not only is Thompson wrong, but it’s just the opposite. Never has a president this incompetent got such a free pass from politicians and the media, eitiher ignoring his screwups or lying outright about them.

Racism is used as a political cudgel to silence all honest and open debate on the subject de jour.

Let’s call these Marxists out for what they are: enemies of liberty and the First Amendment right to free speech.

IOW: enemies of the Constitution who will not rest until YOU are destroyed.

So exactly where in the Constitution is it written that my private thoughts and attitudes are to be subject to thought police??? Where????

Now, if I were to go around beating up black people — exactly in the manner in which black youth are going around beating up INNOCENT white people — I’d be a racist, in addition to being criminal for using violence against another person. But the black people beating up white people????? Oh…… poor dears, it must have been those nasty white folks’ fault for being WHITE.

I’VE HAD IT WITH THE RACIST GARBAGE — AND THE GARBAGE THAT IS OUR MEDIA WHO have sold their souls to the Marxist devil-worship ideology that exists only to destroy DECENCY, FAMILY LIFE, HONOR, AND SELF-RESPECT.

Attn black politicians are not entitled to their own opinion….. Conservative thinking is omnipotent and all seeing. Black Americans know nothing on the subject of race only small town conservatives. Racism does not and never has existed in America. Right ?? Straw man troll dems and libs…. Coolest code words in the world

Yes, Mississippi could do better than to have someone in office that seems to have a visceral bias against whites, and projects his racism toward them.

“Now if that’s not a racist statement I don’t know what is.”

Yessir, you got that right:

1) It’s not a racist statement, and

2) No, at this point you wouldn’t know a racist statement if you heard one, given all the blather that comes out of your mouth ~

This was what I personally found most surprising about the 2008 election.

From US history I think we all know that a nobody with no accomplishments, no demonstrated abilities, no resume to speak of, and who gives boring, content-free speeches can be elected President. So that wasn’t a surprise.

What was a surprise was finding out that such a large chunk of the electorate is so blatantly, corrosively, and apparently irredeemably racist. I refer to my fellow Americans who happen to be officially “black”. I genuinely hadn’t realized just how profound the problem is.

Silly me.

But at least it’s no longer a surprise.

The problem seems to have a simple enough answer: only call Obama things GWB was called by Democrats, and preferably by black Democrats. That shouldn’t limit us much.

Progressive devaluation of capital and labor on unprecedented terms. The uniform normalization of abortion/murder of millions of Americans annually. No, government is not the problem, it is the “final solution”.

Thompson is from a district that is 64% black, the only MS district that is majority black, and a district that has elected a Republican once since 1875. He needn’t worry about angering constituents.

How could he forget that “hate radio” was born in the 1990s, when some white people had the nerve to broadcast their criticism of the pasty-white Southern boy who was president. Democrats were constantly outraged at those nasty “Clinton-haters.” The same Democrats now claim that the only conceivable reason why anyone would ever criticize the radical, destructive, mendacious narcissist in the White House is race. Go figure.

“Now all of a sudden, government is the worst thing in the world since a black man became President.”

No, stupid. It’s because the current government IS the worst thing in the world. The president, who happens to be black, is incompetent.

If you ever listen to “black” radio, especially those on the AM band, around election times, this is normal rhetoric for them.

It isn’t just Wright and Farrakhan who preach about “white devils.” In “the community,” all functions without mixed audiences reinforce the same attitude. There is no dissent to speak of. Most who try are shamed or shouted down or shunned, the few who are tolerated are respected people who don’t aggressively dispute the meme, but refuse to accept it.

This cultural indoctrination serves to keep the power in the community where it is, the Democratic politicians and the clergy. Ironically, those who rail most vehemently against the status quo in society are the most anxious and determined to maintain it in the black community.

I realize that most of you know little about people who are different than you. It appalled you to think that someone thinks differently than you. The browning of America frightens you. You try your best to shout your minority conservative ideology and get upset because people won’t accept ideas. I understand that the blogosphere is your closest thing to reality in wich you have power. Ok good day carry on.

obvious you are the one who knows little about people who are different from you, like the people here for instance … the browning of America ??? good lord are you really that silly ?

I’d bet there is more diversity of skin color here than at the daily Kos for instance …

    tom swift in reply to O BAMA617. | May 2, 2014 at 8:40 pm

Quite a jump there, from a half-white President to the browning of America.

I never heard any republican or conservative say government is bad or big government when bush was president.

dorsaighost | May 2, 2014 at 10:32 am

One thing I think everyone can agree on … Thompson is clearly a racist and apparently proud of it …

More like the worst government ever since a Chicago Politician became president.

It has nothing to do with race.

I never hear any republican talk about big government before 2008 who? Which pundit ? It was not An issue. Bush was president everything was ok no one criticized him on how much government spending back then. Conservatism is too political the ideology is not consistent.
