Dem congressman dismisses Benghazi committee as ‘colossal waste of time’

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif) suggests possible boycott

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif) told Chris Wallace on FOX News Sunday that he thinks the planned select committee to investigate the 2012 Benghazi attack is a “colossal waste of time” and suggested that Democrats should not participate on the panel.

From FOX News:

A Democratic member of the House intelligence committee called Sunday for his party to boycott the newly announced committee tasked with probing the Benghazi attacks, dismissing new evidence that Republicans have called a “smoking gun” showing the White House politicized the tragedy.

Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., told “Fox News Sunday” that Democrats should not give the select committee more “credibility” by joining.

“I think it’s a colossal waste of time,” he said. “I don’t think it makes sense, really, for Democrats to participate.”

Schiff, calling the committee a “tremendous red herring,” acknowledged he doesn’t know what Democratic leadership will decide.

Fox News was told on Friday, when House Speaker John Boehner announced that the House would vote on creating a special committee, that the panel would be bipartisan.

Schiff’s comments, though, raise the prospect that his party could try to define the committee as a political vessel by sitting it out. The remarks reflect how the committee, which has not yet been formally approved, already is a political football. It would begin its investigative work in the heat of the midterm election season, poised to level damaging charges against the Obama administration at a sensitive time.

Typical. They know the facts look increasingly bad for the administration and State, so the only thing left is to try to delegitimize the proceedings by refusing to participate. That could easily backfire, as there would then be no one there to defend Obama and Hillary.

All they have is stonewall and play politics.

The four dead and dozens wounded don’t matter a fig.

And no lie is too vile for them to defend.

If what the Select Committee uncovers enables us to get rid of Democrat hacks like Adam Schiff it won’t be a waste of time. He might survive if is from one of those safe districts full of politically unsophisticated voters but the traitors in the White House won’t survive Trey’s searchlight.

They play into the fiendishly clever hands of the Republican leadership, though, who will pillory them for confirming the allegations by fraudulently denying the obvious. Thank God for the take-no-prisoners GOP!

I suspect members of the Democrat caucus are telling Pelosi to keep them out this. It is the equivalent of falling on your sword and during an election year. If they boycott it no one has to draw the black bean.

Consider contacting Adam Schiff tomorrow, even if you don’t live in California. Tell him a boycott will make the Dems look bad:

Little Tommy the Nerd Boy Geek made Obama and Hillary look bad, so they are circling the wagons. The GOP should go on without the Dems: issue those subpoenas, and if they don’t show up, arrest them.

He says it’s a waste of time. That’s good because it means he’s afraid.

If they sent him out there to say that to me proves that more than he are scared. If you don’t think he was told what to say then I suggest you purchase your return ticket to reality. Them saying that it is a waste of time is kind of like a known drug dealer telling you there is no reason to search his car.

Cowardly, criminal democrats have a history of absconding to avoid a decision–recall the Texas state Senate dems fleeing to NM in 2003, and the similar situation in WI in 2011.

This non-scandal certainly gets a lot of lip-service from Democrats.
I predict there will be Democrats on the Select Committee.

“Its a waste of time” or “What difference does it make” have been the only real defense offered by the loony left since the beginning of the Benghazi investigations. Even when their continued stonewalling, intimidation, and stonewalling can’t prevent new discoveries coming out every couple of months.

“Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., told “Fox News Sunday” that Democrats should not give the select committee more “credibility” by joining.”

Democrats “adding credibility by joining”….Democrats “Adding credibility”…..Democrats….LMAO….”adding credibility” ROFLMAO!

Seriously folks if you want to know how scared they are about this, just look at all the folks they are shoving in front of camera’s to say its all for nothing. I mean they even let Plouff out without a handler.

YES, IT’S A COLOSSAL WASTE OF TIME!

JUST LIKE PROSECUTING ANY CRIME. They’re all in the past. We can’t change that. Sh*t happens. Why bother, even if people were murdered. Why have any laws at all. Violations of none of them can be prospectively enforced. What difference does it make…

I think we should be chasing the terrorist that killed our people!!!!…..Termination!!

A_Nonny_Mouse | May 4, 2014 at 9:45 pm

Can’t we whine that the foot-dragging Dimtwits are “refusing to reach across the aisle”?

Or maybe we should start with the rabble-rousing “White House LIED, 4 people DIED”.

No mercy.

Mr. Schiff reminds me of Andy Kaufman from “Taxi”. Ms. Ayotte, in addition to having a voice that sounds like she’s about to burst into tears, looks a little like the late Michael Jackson.

Will Obama be impeached????

Will Benghazi create jobs? No just a bunch of conservative foolery no proof needed.

This underscores that rep Issa is being paid to waste American tax dollars. He refuses to investigate the actual murder itself.

Gee, I thought Obama was going to bring those folks to justice? Hasn’t happened yet. How come? And why would it be Issa’s job?

Trey Gowdy should copy a page from Clint Eastwood and asked the absent ranking minority member for an opening statement.

Not to diminish the importance of the others — any murder is tragic and despicable — but I kinda thought the murder of an ambassador was an especially bad thing. I guess I’m just old fashioned.
