Zimmerman Trial: Verdict Watch LIVE

Zimmerman Trial: Verdict Watch LIVE

Well, here we are: Verdict Watch.

The jury has been charged in Florida v. Zimmerman, and have begun their deliberations. The verdict form is here. Final Jury Instructions here.

Last night they asked for an inventory list of the evidence–which makes sense given the dozens of witnesses and hundreds of exhibits. Now, we here at Legal Insurrection (and Law of Self Defense) are on stand-by ready to jump into action as soon as news emerges, whether that is the verdict itself or some lesser item. The video feeds located below the fold will be active when the broadcasters that control them feel there is something worth streaming.)

In a breaking development, the Special Prosecutor’s Office of Angela Corey has fired the IT specialist who blew the whistle on the prosecution’s concealment of evidence:

State Attorney Angela Corey fired her office’s information technology director Friday after he testified last month about being concerned prosecutors did not turn over information to George Zimmerman’s defense team in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

On the same day attorneys finished their closing arguments in that nationally watched trial, a state attorney investigator went to Ben Kruidbos’ home about 7:30 a.m. to hand-deliver a letter stating Kruidbos “can never again be trusted to step foot in this office.”

The letter is here.

(WAJ adds) This has been a dirty prosecution in so many ways, so no one should be surprised that as soon as the jury went into deliberations the retaliation began.

This past weekend I posted up an analytical piece of Mark O’Mara’s request for a judgment of acquittal. O’Mara’s motion was well-reasoned and supported by Florida’s case law. It was, of course, doomed to peremptory denial by Judge Nelson. In that piece I’ve linked almost all of the case citations made by O’Mara to full-length copies of the decisions, so you can see the sources for yourselves, if you like (most of the decisions are gratifyingly brief). You can see that here:

Why Zimmerman’s Motion for Acquittal Should Have Been Granted

Last Thursday, July 4, I had posted up a review of the trial to date, with some prognostication of how things may role out in the coming days. To take a look at that, click here:

Morons just don’t understand TM had 4 minutes to go 400 Feet to get home if he was afraid!

Rumor is that Nancy Grace’s head exploded upon hearing the verdict and not sure if it is fixable.

MSNBC idiot said jury should have been better balanced by race! Hey idiot, look in the mirror – you’ll find a racist!

And now it’s the NRA! Hahahahahaha!

No African-Americans to sympathize with the Fulton/Martin family experience. Again, hahahahaha! Justice is blind. Judge by the content of character, NOT COLOR!

AA’s are underrepresented as jurors because of felony laws! Yeah, don’t commit a felony. Derh.

Corey-Nifong is UP. Proud? You dirty bitch!

Corey, your *ss is gr*ss.

Lucien Cordier | July 13, 2013 at 10:16 pm

Angela Corey: Uh, we meant to do that.

Corey’s mugging for the camera! Shameless hussy!

Corey is speaking and basically admitted that it was a political show trial from the start.

We believe that we brought out the truth on behalf of Trayvon Martin. LOL.
Yeah the truth–he was justifiably shot. That’s the truth.

They only things we know now that we didn’t know back in March 2012 is that TM was a drug using THUG!

This wasn’t a difficult case you lying slut.

Now she’s attacking those who formed opinions? Get her off of the farking tv!

Oh, and my opinion WAS CORRECT!

Lucien Cordier | July 13, 2013 at 10:20 pm

Corey’s up with her dream team. Somebody please throw peanuts at them.

The jury is going to be VERY pleased when they get home and they find out the little skittle gobbling child was a marijuana toking, gun-wrangling, underage-girl-boinking, “NO LIMIT NI**A”.

Lucien Cordier | July 13, 2013 at 10:21 pm

Chipmunk looked like he was about to cry.

When are these dirty rotten bastard prosecutors going to apologize or even pretend to sympathize with the victim, George Zimmerman?

Good grief, Angela! Take a trowel and remove a layer of your clown makeup! Wicked witch…

She now just defamed George. She just accused him of second degree murder again, trying to justify her politically motivated witch hunt.

Admit you were wrong, bitch. Apologize, bitch.

Ha! A reporter cut her off and she almost showed her reptile skin!

Corey is DEFAMING George RIGHT NOW in her press conference.

This woman is an IDIOT.

A JURY FOUND HIM NOT GUILT.

SHUT UP.

SHUT UP.

I HOPE SHE GETS HER ASS SUED FOR DEFAMATION.

Corey is one nasty ugly pig… I hope she gets everything she deserves…

caseyanderson2112 | July 13, 2013 at 10:27 pm

NOT GUILTY! Yes! Listening to these prosecutors trying to CYA in front of the cameras is both hilarious and infuriating.

UGH! “Scream stops when shot is fired so we always beleived the screamer was Trayvon Martin.”

Corey just admitted to withholding from the defense the color photo of the back of GZ’s head! Unreal!!

NOT GUILTY!! GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU!
MOST OF ALL- I WISH TO EXPRESS MY CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY OF TRAYVON MARTIN. A YOUNG LIFE WAS LOST & I PRAY THAT THEY WILL USE THEIR SON DEATH AS A MESSAGE TO TEACH BLACK PARENTS TO ACTUALLY BE THERE FOR THEIR CHILDREN TO PROVIDE STRUCTURE & SUPPORT TO ENSURE THAT THE STRUGGLES THAT BLACK PEOPLE OVERCAME DURING THE CIVIL RIGHTS ERA DOES NOT FALL VICTIM TO THE GHETTO THUG CULTURE THAT UNDOES THOSE VICTORIES. PLEASE TEACH CHILDREN TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE MANY OPPORTUNITIES THAT ARE THERE TO PULL THEMSELVES OUT OF POVERTY WITH HARD WORK, PRIDE & SELF RESPECT. STOP THE BELIEFS THAT HANDOUTS ARE A WAY OF LIFE INSTEAD OF A GENEROUS HANDUP FROM CONCERNED FELLOW COMMUNITIES. AMERICANS WISH SUCCESS FOR ALL. IT ONLY MAKES OUR NATION STRONGER & A FORCE FOR GOOD THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. TO THOSE WHO CLAIM PAST SLAVERY HAD HELD BLACK PERSONS BACK FROM SUCCESS TODAY- STOP LETTING THOSE WHO WANT YOU TO BE DEPENDANT ON THE GOVERNMENT SIMPLY TO BUY YOUR VOTE ENSLAVE YOU TODAY. RISE ABOVE THOSE DRMOCRATS WHO HAVE KEPT YOU POOR. STRIVE FOR SUCCESS NOT FREE PHONES.!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!

BdlR is coming unglued!!!! STFU flapper-boy! Go molest another mannequin!

Corey still can’t STFU! You lost, loser! Criminal! STFU!

I can hear him still muttering those words on the drive home tonight:

Pucking Funks, ASS-Holes they allways get away!!!

It seems that they are still continuing with the trial and stirring the pot. BDLR is shameless and I hope he faces disbarment.

She was asked about Kreibdos! Looked like she was gonna kill someone!

Praying again! Heresy…

Mark O’Mara is pure class! Pure class. So impressive.

And Don West, too. Steel.

Peace to them both…

[…] life if the jury votes to acquit and there are riots. Other than that — and you might want to check Zimmerman Jury Watch at Legal Insurrection — this might be a good time to explain why you think this is […]

West’s statement was awesome: totally damning and totally awesome!

some of this nightmare is over for gz and others. i hope that one day the nightmare will disappear altogether. as for those who started this nightmare and for those who helped make it worse……sweet dreams

West and O’Mara were one class act in that press conference. I didn’t get to see Angela Corey and her persecutors as I went to the store for some beck’s to celebrate with..

BDLR had to get one last bit of spite in by polling the jury.

I don’t get it – a 17 year old is a “child” but the same person believes a 12 year old is an adult?

In 2011 Corey’s office oversaw a case in which 12-year-old Cristian Fernandez was accused of killing his two-year-old brother. Corey sought and received a grand jury indictment of Fernandez on charges of homicide and aggravated child abuse, and decided to try him as an adult.[14] This move, which made Fernandez the youngest person ever to face a murder charge in Jacksonville’s history, drew criticism and protests to send the case to juvenile court instead,[15] but Corey held that the juvenile system was inadequate to handle a crime of this magnitude.[16] Corey stated she did not intend for Fernandez to stand trial or serve a life sentence, but would rather accept a plea deal.[17] Fernandez pleaded guilty to manslaughter in February 2013 and was sentenced to detention in a juvenile facility until his 19th birthday.[18]

Also:

In 2010, the Florida Times-Union reported that Corey sent 230 juvenile felony cases to adult court in 2009. This amounted to twice the number of juvenile felony cases placed in adult court in the years prior to Corey becoming State Attorney.[13]

This case is worth reading up on, the mother’s computer records show she was googling “unconscious” browsing popular screensaver and later back to Mayo Clinic online for THREE hours or more BeFore she brought the injured child to the hospital – Dr.’s said immediate medical attention would have saved the child – why wasn’t She charged?!!!!
