Zimmerman jury seated after Judge rejects State serial striking of white women
Jury is all women, 5 Whites, 1 Hispanic
The attorneys in the Zimmerman case have selected the 6 jurors who will be on the case.
Andrew Branca will have more analysis tonight in his wrap-up.
The selection process included the state trying to keep as many white women as possible off the jury, which was rejected in part by the judge:

no NYT branded white hispanic males?
I kid but is a makeup of all women an issue?
seems to me it could be.
Personally, ad as a female, I am not pleased with an all-female jury at all.
No offense meant, but women have a tendency to think with their ovaries.
“Oh, that poor young man. Oh, his poor (now rich) family. Boo-hoo. We must make this right.”
Plus, they’ll be scared of retaliation or being pointed to as the instigators of blacs rioting (again).
I would think Hispanics would be people the prosecution would want to keep off the jury, given the whole “White Hispanic” thing.
The jury was a “target rich environment” for females, as Judge Nelson put on the record. Even after striking mostly women we get an all female jury with majority female alternate pool.
I don’t think it was BLDR’s intent to strike females but I’ve felt his work in jury selection has been of poor quality.
The defense was better at it, but it really looked like BLDR was out of his depth.
Who is BLDR? I am probably missing something obvious here but I do want to be sure I understand your comment. Thanks
It’s actually “BDLR”, Bernie de la Rionda, for the State.
OK gotcha. I thought it must have been a reference to the State but wanted to make sure. Thanks for answering.
Many other recognized terms appear to have been redefined lately (marriage, work, illegal, etc.)… I wonder if maybe the definition of “peers” isn’t ripe for the picking?
I do not know for a fact where the legal history of “peers” came from but a good place to start might be the term “peers of the realm”.
Do we know which two of the jurors the judge did not allow the State to strike? Obviously, judge thought State was racially profiling ( isnt that fun to accuse the other side of such dastardly things )!
No blacks on the jury?
So if Zimmerman gets acquitted, the narrative (and the excuse for the rioting) is already written.
I don’t know who down-dinged you, but he/she is an ignorant ass. You’re exactly right. White judge, white jury.
I’m confused. Are hispanics “white” for the purposes of this trial?
It’s so important to keep one’s prejudices straight.
/s, and ashamed to say I think the /s is necessary.
Majority female jury pools are hardly a novelty.
That would be MORE true in “God’s waiting room”.
You ladies wear us men out earlier…
Heh!
From a “will they riot when innocence is proven” perspective, no white males removes fuel from that fire. Inciting riot against white women would be a war on women, so Obama’s army will be conflicted.
Such is our political state of the union … thank you very much, race and gender card player Obama.
Nothing like a jury of your “peers”.

All women. Well, fudge.
Everything becomes more expensive when women are involved.
That means I’m going to have to send the defense more cash.
Midwest Rhino, you are way too optimistic or just not cynical enough to deal with these degenerate times. If Zimmerman is found not guilty; any jury short of all 6 plus the alternates being black and preferably gang-bangers will be taken as prima facie evidence of a race-determined verdict. And the resulting riots will be encouraged by Buraq Hussein and Holder.
If he is found guilty, there will be celebratory riots, and they will be encouraged by Buraq Hussein and Holder.
And anyone who defends themselves in any way in either case will be defined as a racist.
Since the law will not protect anyone not politically connected or favored, there is no real reason to be restrained by it.

Well, most of the riots and burnings will be in Democrat strongholds. They reap what they sow after all.
I’ll be staying away from Jacksonville that week, that’s for sure.
After a Not Guilty verdict come the riots. After the riots come the Federal civil rights charges.
heh … well, many will want to riot regardless of facts disclosed, but the masses are hypnotized/bamboozled into hating the white males most. Older women will be less hated … as I see it.
As facts come out, the general public will have more evidence that Obama lies about everything, and invokes the race card whenever it is good for HIM, disregarding “white Hispanics” like George, who pay a heavy price.
Any rioting will look purely racist, to any paying attention.
But I guess I should wait to see if the trial produces those results. 🙂

“The way to stop discrimination on the basis of race, is to stop discriminating on the basis of race.” – John Roberts
Zimmerman is going to jail, fer sher. An all female, predominantly white jury? How many of them will want to prove they are not racist by voting Zimmerman guilty. This is ripe for screams of racism. Folks are not going to look at this as these women are capable of deciding a case on its merits. They’re gonna say a bunch of white chicks said it’s okay to kill black kids (remember, they were busy painting Trayvon as an innocent little kid!) So, there is a tremendous amount of pressure on this jury which can only be released by finding Zimmerman guilty, no matter what the facts state.

The fact that he is on trial at all is a travesty of justice.
OK, can anyone clarify for me — why are there only six jurors for an obvious criminal case? There should be twelve.
