In the midnight hour, it is revealed Boston Bombers got welfare

From the Boston Herald late last night, Full text of welfare statement on Tsarnaev brothers

Statement on Tsarnaev Brothers Department of Transitional Assistance Status:

“The brothers were not receiving transitional assistance benefits at the time of the incident and have not received any transitional assistance benefits this year. The Tsarnaevs’ parents are former recipients of transitional assistance benefits, and both Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev received benefits through their parents when they were younger. Separately, Tamerlan and his family received benefits until 2012, when the family became ineligible based on their income.”

— Alec Loftus, communications director, MA Health and Human Services

They were cut off last year. (More details here.)

And they yelled, “More, More, More.”

Obviously, we done them wrong.

LOL, I was humming Rebel Yell after I saw your title on twitter. What a shock these dudes were welfare sponges. If only we tried harder to help them assimilate or something, they’d have taken the money without feeling the need to blow the legs off little kids in Boston. What scum.

You were being sarcastic, right? I hope. Mohammedans in France and England, and the rest of Europe, sponge off the welfare state. I think I’ve heard that in England they get enough to support multiple wives and households. It would have been surprising if they hadn’t been collecting benefits. I would bet they were collecting benefits they didn’t deserve, as in they weren’t really that needy.

I don’t mind supporting widows and orphans, and the poor. I object to being played the sap and supporting those who rob from the poor box. The bureaucrats don’t mind helping. In the Detroit area welfare information is printed in Arabic.

Oh I was absolutely being sarcastic. While this a big “news” item, it is also true, as you suggested, we would have been more surprised if it were revealed they were not collecting welfare. It would also be a huge surprise if they were not collecting benefits to which they were not entitled. After all, they were granted asylum and protection from a country they chose to return to freely. One of their first acts was talking their way into the protection of the United States. Why should it stop there?

Of course this family has been hiding their income over the years. Read this Tumblr entry where the writer recounts her experience with the family as she went to the home to receive facials at a discounted price than she might have paid at the spa where Tsarnaev’s mother was employed. Think any of that income was reported? I doubt it.

The left finally has it correct though, this is “our fault.” We funded the terrorists while they plotted against us on our own soil.

We do subsidize terrorism.

Any bets the Boston Bomber Boys illegally voted for Obama?

Milwaukee in reply to VotingFemale. | April 24, 2013 at 1:13 am

Don’t be a hater. Throwing that “illegal” tag around. They probably voted with same day registration using a utility bill.

Ummm… yeah, that’s why they were here. It’s possible that mommy and daddy Tsarnaev were receiving benefits while in Dagestan, even though it’s technically prohibited. But things can be arranged… Wouldn’t put it past them.

It’s so strange being in the Arizona Time Zone and seeing a comment timestamp of 12:59am.

Blogging from Boston, as I once did, gave me a jump start on 3/4 of the country. I have always been an early riser.

Speaking of which, uncle Ruslan fixes cars. Does he do it for cash while on welfare, or does he actually pay taxes?

Juba Doobai! | April 24, 2013 at 1:25 am

We call it welfare. They call it jizya.

I’m still waiting to hear on what basis this piece of shit family was let immigrate into this country in the first place.

Add to that the complete lack of mention of the older bomber’s supposed “only friend” (awww) being killed with two other guys in a drug-related slaying. Drug dealer, wife beater, suspect warned about by Russia…

Where is that nice home schooling German family these days?

When all the Billy Idol sneers and Billy Idol fist pumps have come and gone and are tucked away … the question remains … were there enough hugs?

You can’t spell hugs with money … or currency.

I checked. Neither money nor currency has an “h” … or a “g” for that matter.

It’s us. Yep, it’s us all right. Damn us!

Money can’t buy me love, but happiness is a warm gun. Or a pressure cooker, if you’re into that.

LukeHandCool in reply to JerryB. | April 24, 2013 at 3:25 pm

      You got that right, Jerry.

A couple weeks after high school graduation, some friends and I took a road trip to Las Vegas.

I was walking along the Strip one afternoon when a car pulling out of a parking lot stopped suddenly, blocking the sidewalk.

The older woman in the car (she had to have been at least 25) made a kind of proposition (for lack of a better term) to me.

I heard her perfectly, but I politely asked her at least three or four times to repeat herself as I calculated in my mind the chances of being kidnapped by getting into a car with a stranger, the chances of the mob depositing my body somewhere in the middle of the desert, etc.

After the third of fourth time I’d asked for clarification, her voice showed growing irritation at this seemingly hard-of-hearing boy.

And, after I calculated the odds of her having a gun or knife, leading to my early demise, at being no greater than 50%, I politely said, “OK” and got into the car.

I remember thinking afterwards that “Can’t Buy Me Love” was a great song, but that Paul had no idea what he was talking about.

Love is a subjective thing. But I learned a little about love, a little about capitalism, a little about trade, a little about risk vs. reward, and a few other things that day.

Never had such a valuable lesson in school.

      And I wasn’t even kidnapped.

The only bad thing? Trying to convince my friends that it had actually happened.

I never thought of getting a receipt. Another lesson learned.

Thunk Progress:

A Welfare-Brain Lesion Connection?

A classic pattern in Britain – collect thousands if not millions in welfare (see Abu Hanza for example) and hate the people who gave it to you while you preached/plotted jihad.

Recently an Islamist was caught with 4 million dollars worth of food stamps.

They are gaming the system. Jizya and Taqqyia.

First Photos of shootout between Boston Marathon Bombers and the Police

As Massachusetts’ senior Senator would say, “You didn’t build that!”

Such an insult. This is the icing on the cake for this horrific story.

VetHusbandFather | April 24, 2013 at 8:40 am

So about that lone wolf thing… are they still claiming that this guy bought all his supplies, obtained weapons on the black market, took a ‘vacation’ to Russia to ‘explore his roots’ and supported a wife and kid all while on welfare? Or are we supposed to believe that college student little brother financed their operation. Follow the money, someone was funding these guys, and it wasn’t just the taxpayer (if welfare pays that well I need to stop working!).

Uncle Samuel | April 24, 2013 at 8:45 am

IT’S STARTING:

Twitchy: “Petition to Obama about ‘wrongfully accused’ Tsarnaev brothers gains over 9,000 signatures.”

Liberalism is a mental illness.

Juba Doobai! in reply to Uncle Samuel. | April 24, 2013 at 8:25 pm

I’ve been following it on Twitchy, and it seemed to me that a lot of it is astroturf. A lot of it is The Joker’s hot, they wanna get blown up with his baby. Then some moron rapper got a conspiracy theory going and the Farrakhanite low information gang bought in.
