More on the Romeike homeschooling deportation case

Last week we examined the case of the Romeike family, which is facing deportation to Germany where they will be persecuted and possibly prosecuted for homeschooling their children, DOJ seeks deportation of family persecuted in Germany for homeschooling.

On Saturday night Mike Huckabee had a segment on the case (h/t Atlas Shrugs):

Not to mention the 10 to 20 million illegal aliens who are a privileged class by virtue of proximity and a convenient land bridge.

Off topic:

Why is Biden taking on more and more responsibility in this administration? Guns, foreign policy, etc. Most of us have always thought of him as the court jester. Well, here’s a theory.

Biden, for all his many, many limitations, is still an experienced legislator. He has worked for decades in government. The only thing Obama has ever accomplished was getting elected. So perhaps there is some concern in the White House that they may have won 4 more years but will have nothing to show for it, because Obama can’t get anything past Congress. Enter Biden, because not much skill is better than no skill at all. Let Biden get done whatever can get done. Let Obama campaign–it’s all he knows.

Out of all the things we spend our tax dollars, why are spending money to subject a respectable law abiding family to religious persecution? We won’t deport the hordes of mexicans running across but we will deport a german family for educating their children? WTF? One set of laws for hispanics and another vastly more restrictive set for whites? How is this not racist?

Obama must simply be afraid that white people from Europe will use this “loophole” to raise their families the best way they know how and start flooding our shores.

20 million poor uneducated govt. dependent Mexicans can stay but this DOJ has decided to go after this one beautiful family for no other reason than to make an example of them.
How dare somebody reject public education.

Well, Obama is always talking favorably about teachers and meaning public school teachers so I guess he is not interested in giving asylum to a family who is against compulsory attendance at government schools whose curriculum is contrary to true Christian beliefs.

I think Obama is anti-christian but can’t go after hispanic christians because that would be considered anti-hispanic and he doesn’t want to anger hispanics.

I consider Obama anti-christian because he is pro-choice and he sat in Reverend Wright’s “church” for years and he is for gay marriage.

Holder should be expelled: F in Diversity & Social Studies; Incompletes in Justice & Liberty; Truant from History class; missed the Constitution Test;

Holder doesn’t like that kind of diversity. It does’t create equal outcomes.

Your children’s minds belong to the German state.

“Land of the Free” my ass.

You’ve got to love the progressive logic: As long as everyone is being oppressed equally, no one is being oppressed.

So illegal aliens that are in prison for committing even more crimes must be released because of lack of funding, but this prosperous and productive German family … we can spend money to prosecute them?

When will networks attack Obama for his anti-white racism?

Would Barry/Holder do such to a Kenyan family?

How about a Indonesian family?

This has been going on for a while – this poor family fled Germany because of religious persecution by the German government. They WILL be prosecuted, as have so many others, just for homeschooling, which the German central government has declared illegal, immoral, and against the state.

Funny, the compulsory public school attendance laws were put in place by Hitler and his regime. Of all the things un-done and repealed in Germany, this is one place the state refuses to forgo. Why?! Quite simply, Lenin said it so well: give me the children for 4 years and I will have them for life! (paraphrase)

Yeah. It’s all about indoctrination.

Hope this family is able to quickly bring a new case to sue the feds because their family is being treated unequally under the law, given the release of the illegal aliens recently. Maybe that will slow down the tyrants! Maybe………

Ok then – just what are the limits LI posters would put on Political Assylum education matters.

Almost all education syllabi in the eastern & increasingly successful Asian systems are secular. Almost all require compulsory adherence to attendance or approved curricula in whatever & wherever they are taught.

If family x from Yemen did not like that girls are required to attend school & they hold religiously that girls ought not be educated – could they apply ?

Btw judging on the neat hair – there are no Einsteins in there. There is a strong link between the state of Einstein’s hair & his creativity – the worse the better.

We certainly can’t allow anyone to discredit the fine work of the US Department of Education by home-schooling their children, depriving them their basic human right of liberal indoctrination.

Mr. Romeike must have voted for Romney…

They are seeking political asylum – hence not voters yet . (Hopefully ) .

They are not being prevented from homeschooling in the USA. They are trying to convince the Us authorities they are religious & educational refugees.

Why can they not just get a residency visa until the kids are old enough not to have to got school?

This case has tremendous implications for the us here. If our courts uphold the DoJ view, then that could well mean that our DoJ or other federal departments could issue a ruling similar to the German’s regarding our rights as parents vs. our children and how we school them or train them or entertain them or what have you. This is just another instant of Obama’s folks wanting to exert their control over our beings as individuals. God help us if DoJ’s viewpoint is upheld by an American Court.

Ok – there is an American army guy who went AWOL in 2008 & applied for political asylum in Germany.

His reasons are that as a apache technician he would be forced to be involved in crimes against humanity .

His case was denied by Germany in 2011 & he has appealed . It will now go to the EU court.

So it goes.

What do you think the EU ought do ? Thumb their noses at the USA? Yeah you would be hopping mad if they did.

I still suspect this case is about precedent.of Asylum & Regugee Staus decisions between allies.
