Decision whether to charge David Gregory will be announced later today

I just got off the phone with Ted Gest, the press spokesman for the District of Columbia Attorney General.

Gest confirmed that the decision whether to charge David Gregory with violating D.C.’s gun law will be announced by the Attorney General later this afternoon via email.

We will keep you posted.

Most people that are charged with possession of contraband, that contraband is usually somewhere in their vicinity, or in other possessions tied to the person.

Similar to “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” means nobody has the right to own a gun….

…Having contraband literally in hand, with millions of witnesses, does not equal possession.

If the District of Columbia Attorney General takes a pass on prosecuting Gregory, I’d love to see some type of civil discrimination suit brought by everyone who was ever prosecuted by the same office for violating the statute. The Gregory issue is THE heart of the matter in the 2nd Amendment debate which is the predilection of prosecutors to ignore the existing laws when it’s convenient.

It is not just Gavid Gregory. He would need to have had an initial contact & then a supplier & someone would have been the carrier through the immaculate gunfree streets of DC.Someone owns that gun & magazines .

Even the tv company is involved in contraband goods – somebody let it in the building.

There could be a tv show .

Late Friday afternoon. Email announcement. No charges will be filed. Email will contain pablum re: limited prosecutorial resources, Gregory’s acknowledgment of “mistake”, no one harmed.

OT but relevant.

Anyone idiot who thinks it’s a good idea to publish the names and addresses of lawful gun permit holders take note.

The Journal News saga continues and the editors and reporters continue to reap what they sowed.

Suspicious package sent to NY editor’s home contained fecal matter

WHITE PLAINS — A suspicious package delivered to The Journal News editor’s home Thursday turned out to contain non-toxic fecal matter, police said today.

Public Safety Commissioner David Chong would not say whether the white shipping envelope delivered to the home of CynDee Royle, The Journal News editor and vice president/news, contained a message or threat.

City police and members of the Westchester County Bomb Squad were dispatched to a McBride Avenue home Thursday afternoon on a report of a suspicious package in a mailbox.

It was the fifth instance of a suspicious letter or package being delivered to the newspaper’s White Plains offices or to the homes of company employees since The Journal News published a Dec. 23 article titled “The gun owner next door: What you don’t know about the weapons in your neighborhood.”

The report included an interactive map on LoHud.com that shows the homes of licensed handgun owners in Westchester and Rockland counties.

Chong said police were trying to determine who sent Thursday’s package as well as earlier threatening mail.

On Thursday, about 20 police officers from the city and the county, the bomb squad, a White Plains firetruck and two ambulances responded to McBride Avenue and remained for more than one hour.

Tthe bomb squad removed the package and transported it to a county public-safety facility in Valhalla for analysis.

McBride Avenue was closed in both directions between North Broadway and Hawthorne Street, and neighbors were allowed to remain in their homes.

Two envelopes containing white powder arrived at the newspaper’s White Plains offices last week. Both were determined to be baking powder. Two other suspicious items were mailed to the home of a reporter. One of them was deemed not dangerous by police. The other, which arrived Thursday, was still being analyzed by police.
