Obama Enjoys Surge in Positive Coverage the Last Week of the Race; Attention to Romney Drops:

In the final week of the 2012 presidential campaign, Barack Obama enjoyed his most positive run of news coverage in months, according to a new study by the Pew Research Center’s Project for Excellence in Journalism. Only during the week of his nominating convention was the treatment in the press more favorable.

Much of that surge in positive coverage, the data suggest, was tied to Obama’s strategic position, including improving opinion polls and electoral math, rather than directly to positive assessments of Obama’s response to Superstorm Sandy. The storm, however, appeared to reduce the amount of attention focused on Mitt Romney and may well have influenced public attitudes about the president.

Obviously, this too must be the fault of conservatives and the Tea Party.

If Romney had run a strong, hard-hitting campaign (Lord knows, the amount of material he had to work with was an embarrassment of riches), no amount of media carpet-bombing would have helped Obama.

Let’s face it: but for a bunch of fraud and 200K flipped votes TOTAL in just 4 states, Romney would be President-elect. It shouldn’t have even been that close.

I also knew the average American voter is of the “extreme low information” variety, generally stupid, and minorities believe Obamaphones grow on trees.

Any American who gives traffic to the main stream media has no interest in preserving America.

true..but the conservative, Constitutional basis of this country has to be espoused ,preached and demonstrated to those who are currently clueless… The msm is killing this representative democracy…information is the life’s blood for our citizens.

We have a free press. Nobody believes it is a fair press.

The power of a corrupt press is diminished if it is mocked, discounted and starved of income.

Considering this, what idiot(s) in the GOP agreed to the ‘moderators’ in the debates? Why is no one asking this?

I thought I would post something satirical about the Media, and it’s love-frenzy with Obama, but then I decided it was not worth the effort. Everyone knows it, and those who don’t have their heads buried in the sand.

Now, as for Thanksgiving weekend, I’m going to give thanks to God for giving us the government we, as a nation, so richly deserve (Can you say self-inflicted wounds?). I will ignore All media inspired activity over the holiday, including any shopping. Small Business Saturday? How about a John Galt Weekend instead?

Let me get this straight…

The media enjoys nearly single digits in the way of approval ratings, There were three public presidential debates that showcased the candidates, the incumbent had a less than 50% approval rating and a record of failure, evidence of cronyism, foreign relations and domestic coverups while the challenger had a squeaky clean reputation, a record of accomplishment and a clear projection on how to restore the economy – – – You with me so far?

With all this in hand, the public went with the community organizer who offered instant gratification while the experienced executive offered a solid path to better time was dismissed.

Just based on the above, all I can say is that we deserve the government we chose.

And my forecast is for a very dear price to be paid…

How many times as a conservative have you had someone who sees themselves as middle of the road say “I didn’t know that?”

The problem is that while many no longer really trust what they hear and read in the media they don’t seek out alternatives on a regular basis. Because of that the heritage media still gets to control the narrative. Even something as obvious as There were lies told about Benghzi is hard to get out to low information voters. In addition, the media has blurred the boundaries with their entertainment programing. From comedians to sportscasters to sitcoms both Obamaworship and the Republicans are stupid racist sexist homophobes meme is pounded on daily.

I don’t have any answers but I do know one huge problem in the last two campaigns has been the unwillingness of the media advisers around the candidate both to challenge the press directly on their biases and to come up with advertising strategies to reach low information voters who pick up their information from smarmy comics.

Clearly, given this data, the line has been crossed: a favorable press has transcended into a fawning press.

Considering that they all read from the same talking points supplied by the WH, as Rush so effectively demonstrates on a regular basis, can we call it propaganda now?

The psychology of this is quite simple (yes, I have a degree in psychology, no I do not have data from studies), the more you show someone/something in a positive light the more people will like and accept it. The more you show it in a negative light, the more people will not like it and reject it.

Conservatives have no control over how the likes of NBC, CBS, the BBC, the NYT, etc., tell “the news”. The MSM (and Hollywood) will continue to feed the public positive images of liberalism and negative images of conservatism, and you’re average everyday relatively uninformed person will continue to reflexively defend liberals and dislike conservatives.

One thing we can do is point out this fact in hopes that people realize how they are being manipulated.
