How dare that (now dead) Islamic Jihad commander ruin a good story about Israeli war crimes against journalists

How dare that (now dead) Islamic Jihad commander ruin a good story about Israeli war crimes against journalists

A couple of complementary stories today.

First, the international media still is falling for Pallywood in one of the most egregious examples of cynical Palestinian death rituals played out for the media.

A four year old boy was killed in the fighting, and the Palestinians paraded the dead body including for widely circulated photo-ops with the visiting Egyptian Prime Minister.  But it turns out the boy was killed by the premature detonation of a Palestinian rocket, not by the Israelis.  Elder of Ziyon blog was one of the first to call foul on media reports, Dead child cradled by Egypt’s PM was killed by Hamas! Now The Telegraph in Britain has confirmed:

The highly publicised death of four-year-old Mohammed Sadallah appeared to have been the result of a misfiring home-made rocket, not a bomb dropped by Israel.

The child’s death on Friday figured prominently in media coverage after Hisham Kandil, the Egyptian prime minister, was filmed lifting his dead body out of an ambulance. “The boy, the martyr, whose blood is still on my hands and clothes, is something that we cannot keep silent about,” he said, before promising to defend the Palestinian people.

But experts from the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights who visited the site on Saturday said they believed that the explosion was caused by a Palestinian rocket.

Now move on to the second story, the claims of “war crimes” because the Israelis targeted a building housing international media.  An author at Firedoglake proclaimed, Israel’s Targeting of Media Is a War Crime, rejecting Israeli warnings that journalists should leave certain buildings as itself a violation of international law:

The truth is Israel intended to send a message to journalists. They want the press to clear out. They want press to have only a few sources for information on Gaza attacks and any ground invasion: the appointed spokespeople of Israel.

Israel has committed violations of international human rights law like this before

Well lookie what an Israeli missile just happened to find in one of those buldings, Leading Islamic Jihad operatives killed in strike on media center:

An Israeli airstrike hit a Gaza building used by a number of local and foreign news organizations on Monday afternoon. Three top Islamic Jihad operative were killed.

Islamic Jihad sent a text message to reporters saying that Ramez Harb was killed in the strike Monday. The IDF spokesperson said four others — Baha Abu al Ata, Tyseer Mahmud Machmad Jaberi and Halil Baatini — used the building for hiding.

Harb was a leading figure in the Islamic Jihad’s militant wing, the Al Quds Brigades.

Witnesses said the strike hit a high-rise in downtown Gaza City which houses a few offices serving foreign correspondents.

Thick black smoke rose from the building Monday as ambulances rushed to the scene. Reports said as many as four people were killed.

The strike on the building was the second one in the past two days. The Hamas TV station, Al Aqsa, is located on the top floor.

In the ongoing fighting between Israel and Hamas, over 900 rockets were launched from Gaza into Israel. While most of the rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome system, dozens of them struck residential areas and one killed three Israelis in Kiryat Malachi. The IDF has attacked over one thousand targets in the Strip, with Palestinians reporting over 90 people killed in the attacks.

The media is playing its part again as part of the Islamist propaganda machine.  This explains why this time around the Israelis have been so proactive in trying to get their message out on Twitter and other social media.

By the mass media? Of course not. Thankfully, we have social media and dedicated bloggers like Professor Jacobson.

1 man with 1 blog is doing a better job reporting the events than the entire staff of CNN+NYTimes+WaPo+ABC+CBS+MSNBC.

Let’s see … these Hamas guys use kids, hospitals, schools, etc., for cover … so it only seems reasonable that they would never, ever, ever, think of using journalists for cover, too. Unthinkable.

When the time is right and it suits Hamas’ purpose the press will be used for cover. It is staggering that so many people can be such fools for so long.

Oh, make no mistake! Hamas has no delusions about journalists being “cover”. The tactic is to PRODUCE high-value deaths, purely for propaganda effect. They do not value human life.

And, the use of civilians, children, hospitals, etc., for cover is a violation of the Geneva Conventions.

I hear Hamas has a store of weapons and attack plans stored in the basement of the MSNBC studios and in Ed Shultz’s dressing room.

Pssst…. pass it on.

Geepers I hope somebody warns Ed before…. Wait, you’re just trying to…

Oh, I get it. Maybe the complicit media will “get it” too. After all, they are accomplices in the Mohammedans assault on Israel.

During World War II the Dutch had excellent forts facing Germany. What they didn’t count on was German soldiers rounding up Dutch civilians and marching them ahead of their tanks. Dutch soldiers surrendered before firing on their own people. Hitler was evil, so too are those who use innocents for shields.

Don’t those journalists qualify as ‘non-uniformed combatants’ given that they’re not exactly presenting the truth, and thus are not protected by the Geneva conventions? After all, they do say that the pen is mightier than the sword.

I think it says a lot about Israeli attention to accuracy that in 1000 strikes they only killed 90 people – in a highly populated area, you’d have to work hard to AVOID hitting people.

Every “journalist” in Gaza is there at the pleasure of Hamas *for* the pleasure of Hamas.

Never forget that the hallowed Thomas Friedman won a Pulitzer for covering the Mideast, then later admitted in his first book that he regularly skewed his reporting because Arafat’s henchmen threatened him.

Anyone watching NBC’s Richard Engel “report” from Gaza is entitled to think that the same dynamic is in play.

Until they prove different, I just assume they are all Walter Duranty with expensive haircuts and flack jackets.

    Works every time.

To IDF: Yep, it’s me again. Another request, bitte. KILL MORE Hamas Butchers and Wanta’Be-Butchers. Hurry them to those spits in Hell where they may turn for Eternity.

Please make them Priority Targets if they have The Nation or NY Times as cover…Or, NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN…(-:

Thank you.

Interesting…

CNN poll shows MOST Americans support Israel.

BUT only 40% of Deemocrats do.

    Here’s that poll.

Hey, remember all that booing at the Democrats’ convention when they shoehorned Jerusalem back into the party platform? Remember how we were told that that was just a small minority?

Politico: “Democrats were far more skeptical of Israel’s actions than the public at large. Only 41 percent of party members, and 39 percent of liberals, believe Israel’s actions are justified. Support is also lower among non-whites and those ages 18-34. Support peaks among Republicans, 74 percent of whom support the response, and among those over 65.”

So, the more “liberal” you are, and the less white you are, the more likely you are to support Hamas. Good to know.

“So, the more “liberal” you are, and the less white you are, the more likely you are to support Hamas. Good to know.”

Yep. I’ve come across quite a few people who fit this profile perfectly.

And hipsters. Most hipsters think it’s cool to be in solidarity with Hamas against those big, bullying meanies the Israelis.

      God, I hate hipsters.

Isn’t aiding and abetting terrorists considered a violation of international law?

Think we can get them to take out a few of our “journalists” too….?

Sucks to be a human shield!

Are we supposed to believe that someone actually reads dog fart lake and takes them seriously?
