Defending Israel, freedom, and the future of civilization

Defending Israel, freedom, and the future of civilization

Once again the radical (and mainstream) left is misguidedly attacking Israel, the democratic nation that respects human rights and freedom, while promoting the Islamic totalitarian nations that surround them.

Thursday, Rebel Pundit captured on video a typical leftist march condemning Israel outside the Obama headquarters in Chicago, where the International Socialists Organization and other Marxists formed the majority of the crowd.

Saturday, CNBC’s Jonathan Hoenig of Capitalist Pig posted a video of Ayn Rand discussing Israel, where she says:

The Arabs are one of the least developed cultures. They are typically nomads. Their culture is primitive, and they resent Israel because it’s the sole beachhead of modern science and civilization on their continent. When you have civilized men fighting savages, you support the civilized men, no matter who they are. Israel is a mixed economy inclined toward socialism. But when it comes to the power of the mind—the development of industry in that wasted desert continent—versus savages who don’t want to use their minds, then if one cares about the future of civilization, don’t wait for the government to do something. Give whatever you can.

But perhaps the two sides of the Israel question are best captured by comedian Steven Crowder, who has lent his wit to create a short, three-minute history of Israel on video. It is a must-watch:

As sure a proof of the insanity of the Collective as you could find…

They defend a genocidal, terrorist, benighted aggressor against a democratic, pluralistic, advanced society that only fights defensively, and then as humanely as they can.

They “love death” like we “love life” – because their children make better props that way:

http://www.elderofziyon.blogspot.com/2012/11/dead-child-held-by-egypts-pm-was-killed.html

Unlike al-Durah, they don’t have to worry about footage popping up of this kid alive and walking around after the scene has been shot. And that’s what really matters, to them.

I’ve come to the dark conclusion that there is no future for civilization in a world predominantly governed by the Left. The principles of western civilization are simply not part of the Leftist construct — indeed, the construct is hostile to those principles. This is not something the Left consciously understands in a larger sense (I don’t think they give much thought to the big picture of civilizational integrity) but nontheless actively solicits in all its energies.

We are truly in trouble.

Since Lefties think only with emotions, they are always prey to emotional arguments and are totally devoid of settling said argument with logic, common sense or deductive reasoning. Therefore, in the mind (such as it actually exists) of a Lefty, contradictions do not exist; contradictions, and the danger they pose to coherent understanding, are incomprehensible things of the ethereal regions, such as black holes, quantum plasma physics and private sector job creation.

Conclusion: Arguing with a Lefty is not possible. It is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, the pigeon will just knock over all the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like he won. However, since Conservatives are inherently honorable, fair and logical, we will still tray to win over the left with logic, facts and common sense, resulting in the same feelings of frustration and anger.

    Dystopia, here we come!

Every bit of Muslim behavior finds its source in Islam and its “holy” texts. Why Israel does not include this important aspect in statements explaining its self-defense actions is beyond me. Israel, ever ready to show good faith and fair dealing, did remove itself from Gaza in 2005. In return, the Muslims, never pausing, have continued their 1400 year murderous campaign against the Jews. Israel has enjoyed no peace from that 2005 gesture; in truth Israel has never enjoyed any peace from its May 1948 founding either. Before being organized into a state of its own Jews have never enjoyed any peace whenever they have found themselves side-by-side with Muslims. Why is it that Muslims behave so intolerantly? Because Islam’s “holy” texts demand it. Hamas enshrines this religious teaching in its Charter, but the thought underlies all Muslim treatment of Jews throughout history. Indiscriminate rocket attacks fit nicely into Islam’s awful doctrines. Article 7, “Hamas has been looking forward to implementing Allah’s promise, whatever time it might take. The prophet [Muhammad] said: ‘The time (of Resurrection) will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews; until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: 0 Muslim! there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him!’” Sahih Muslim, Book 41, Number 6985]

It remains to us in the counter-jihad movement to supply this education on and about Islam. The MSM and Western govts walk hand-in-hand with the jihadists. Hmmmmmmm, this gives pause; the friend of my enemy is also my enemy, . . .

I went back and reread Rand’s The New Left: The Anti-Industrial Revolution book of essays recently. I was looking for ways to explain the likely impact of the Obama executive order mandating a Positive School Climate with the reality of the planned collectivist mandates. http://www.invisibleserfscollar.com/hiding-educations-theft-of-individual-freedom-behind-the-positive-school-c/ was the story of what is coming.

I ended up using Rand’s quote; “In real life, there is no such thing as a gradual descent from civilization to savagery. There is a crash. There is no such thing as retrogressing ‘a little.’ There is no such thing as a ‘restrained progress.’

Quote works well to describe the effect of not standing by Israel as well.

Too few these days have the knowledge of history or economics to recognize we are placing everything that has ever brought widespread prosperity at risk to augment government power and a reign of an oligarchical nomenklatura. And it’s happening simultaneously all over the world.

Especially in the countries with a history of being beacons.

What Greg Gutfeld says about victimhood is perfectly apt for why the left supports the Palestinians over the Israelis. I’ve always said it’s a misplaced rooting for the underdog … the reflexive (and misplaced) belief that the underdog is always more moral and just.

Greg Gutfeld:

“So what is perceived as cool, when it’s really the opposite?”

“Victimhood. The elevation of the David and Goliath myth as a universal storyboard dictating that evil can be good, as long as it’s smaller than the good. If America was a house, the left would root for the termites.”

I’ve been reading @SCrowder’s twitter timeline.

I enjoy his epigrammatic alacritous celerity.

The Left doesn’t appreciate the inherent pitfalls of their ideology. The enlightened Left in the West adheres to a faith which recognizes a selective history, selective science, and selective reality. They routinely denigrate individual dignity, devalue human life, and generally sponsor dysfunctional behaviors. Their leaders appeal to dreams of instant gratification (i.e. material, physical, ego), and extortion, in order to advance their own political, economic, and social standing.

What is the statute of limitation on occupation and by what means are ownership rights legitimately transferred?

End the Muslim occupation of Israel, Egypt, Libya, Sudan, Turkey, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, etc., and then we can talk; or, perhaps, recognize a reality which is imperfect. However, the long-running war of aggression initiated by Palestinians and their allies, Jordan, Syria, Egypt, and others, is clearly unjustified.

Ayn Rand’s statement is blatantly racist and betrays an incredible ignorance of the history culture of the peoples of the Middle East.

Did anyone see Lindsey Graham on Fox this morning? He ended the interview warning Egypt to watch out if they want to continue getting foreign aid and lay off Israel. He sounded a lot more sincere than Mr. Teleprompter who doesn’t even comprehend what he is reading.
Interesting tidbit: “…Israel’s Hebrew-language newspapers are all calling the new operation “Pillar of Cloud” (or so Gawker’s resident Hebrew speaker and Israeli native, Neetzan Zimmerman, tells me.) And that’s how the name of the operation first propagated in the America press. Here is the IDF’s official Hebrew Twitter feed, in answer to a question about the operation’s name, answering “Pillar of Cloud” about 90 minutes ago (thanks again to Neetzan for the translation):

RoySharon @RoySharon10 14 Nov 12

@idfonline מה שם המבצע?

צבא ההגנה לישראל

Here’s what “Pillar of Cloud” means: According to the Tanakh, during the Israelites’ exodus from Egypt, God took the form of a pillar of cloud during the day and a pillar of fire at night, in order to light their way and to frighten the Egyptian army…”

Israelis are invoking their G-d each time an operation is launched. Muslims should be shaking in their boots. The G-d of Israel has a history longer than Islam of defending the descendents of Abraham. 2Chronicles 20:17
לא לכם להלחם בזאת התיצבו עמדו וראו את ישועת יהוה עמכם יהודה וירושלם
אל תיראו ואל תחתו מחר צאו לפניהם ויהוה עמכם׃

Thanks for posting this. I also noticed that Biblical reference, and in that context, I’d like to see real Old Testament smitin’ going on.

God bless Israel, the IDF and those who support Israel the world over.

I hate it when Israel’s “defenders” concede, as Crowder does here, that the “Palestinians” have the right to a state. The minute you concede that you’ve lost. Because once you’ve established what you are, you’re just haggling over the price. They have no more right to anything from Israel than a mugger has a right to your wallet; if you choose to give it to him rather than fight and risk getting beaten or killed, then he has no reason not to do it again.
