MSNBC’s Matthews gives epic smackdown of Obama

MSNBC’s Matthews gives epic smackdown of Obama

Have you learned to tune your t.v. immediately to MSNBC after any political event? If you haven’t, you would have missed an epic rant tonight against Obama from *up tingles* Chris Matthews where he chastises Obama for simply “enduring” through the presidential debate:

“I don’t know what he was doing out there, he had his head down, he was enduring the debate rather than fighting it,” said Matthews.

Exactly.

Matthews then said, “Where was Obama tonight?…We have our knives out, we go after the people with the facts. What was he doing tonight? He went in there disarmed. He was like, oh wait, an hour and a half, I think I can get through this thing and I don’t even look at this guy whereas Romney, I love the split screen. Staring at Obama, addressing him, like the prey. He did it just right. I’m coming at an incumbent, I’ve got to beat him, you’ve got to beat the champ. And I’m going to beat him tonight. And I don’t care what this moderator, whatever he thinks he is, because i’m going to ignore him. What was Romney doing? He was winning…five more of these nights, forget it!”

I won’t be happy until Chrissy is in the fetal position sucking his thumb and crying.

LOL at Matthews imploring POTUS to start watching the Rev Al and Hardball. You just can’t make that up. This debate so exceeded expectations for Romney – I am just on cloud 9 for him and the country.

Must. See. TV!

3.7 years I’ve waited for this. Revenge is a dish best served cold. Thank you, Governor Romney, for serving it.

I am going to sleep more peaceful tonight.

Yeh. Obama thought as Ben Affleck did, that Obama had already won the election. So, why bother with annoying trivia like debates and pissants like Romney? Who is Romney anyway, to go up against Teh Wun? Past experience has taught Obama that if he shows up and blows smoke, he’s good to go. Tonight, he met a heavy wind that cleared all the smoke and showed him to be nothing without a teleprompter.

The last person who did that to Obama was Sarah Palin, and the LSM proceeded to savage her after the Republican Convention. She is right to warn Romney that big heat is coming as payback for Teh Wun’s humiliating debate loss. Whether Romney will listen is another matter.

Romney should take a page out of Obama’s book and say, “I won.”

spottedreptile in reply to Juba Doobai!. | October 4, 2012 at 6:58 am

Actually, I believe Obama realised quite a while ago that he wasn’t going to win re-election, and I think his disinterest in fighting stemmed from that moment. He looks and sounds like a guy who doesn’t want to win, or can’t be bothered putting in the effort when the glow has faded from the halo and he’s yesterday’s news.

There’s nothing left to fight for because Obama only fought for himself, nothing more, despite all the vested interests trying to get him over the line. He’ll lose and go to Hawaii and read books about himself in his library.

Midwest Rhino | October 3, 2012 at 11:31 pm

MSNBC would get great ratings from republicans .. they could say all the same crap, but they’d have to agree to wear clown outfits 🙂

That’s okay Chris… Obama didn’t know what he was doing out there either. Sort of a condensed version of the last 4 years.

RE: “That’s okay Chris… Obama didn’t know what he was doing out there either. Sort of a condensed version of the last 4 years.”

    LOL

Wicked Wicked Wicked comment but TRUE TRUE TRUE!!!!!

Loved it! Loved it! Loved it!
Romney used Biden’s remark about the middle class being “buried” and shoved it up Obama’s hiney. Biden will become the next Hoffa.
Romney kicked ass and took names.
Problem: Has he set the bar too high for himself for the next two debates?
Now I can’t wait for Ryan vs. “dim bulb” Biden.

Hopefully, what Mitt did tonight was to shift into “attack” speed (assuming that he previously has been at “battle” speed). Then, at some point, maybe the last debate, he will shift into “ramming” speed until the election. It seems there’s considerable “depth” to him, so maybe the bar will go higher still!

    “MITTMENTUM”

2nd Ammendment Mother | October 3, 2012 at 11:38 pm

They’re going to have to tie Ryan’s brain behind his back just to give him a mostly unfair advantage over Biden.

Anyone think Biden will call in sick?

Tonight, I’ve had tingles.

Go, Mitt !!! Keep ‘m on the ropes.

Tingles didn’t have no tingles tonite, huh?

Catherine in reply to Juba Doobai!. | October 4, 2012 at 12:30 am

Chris Matthews looked like an SNL parody of himself. You could see his clear disappointment and exasperation in President Obama’s performance tonight. His hair was disheveled and he looked exhausted.

Observer in reply to Juba Doobai!. | October 4, 2012 at 7:47 am

He had tingles all right, but they weren’t in his leg. They were in his left arm.

The first time Obama opened his mouth I cringed and thought, “here’s a kid who hasn’t done his homework.”

I’ve been through countless presentations from schoolchildren. It was like that. Rambling.

1. Was this the first time ever that Obama has had to compete without a boost from affirmative action?

(Leftists read this site, so I’m tossing them a raaacist statement to have conniptions over. My good deed for the day.)

2. Seems that Romney got his momentum back in one swell foop. Hopefully this time he will maintain it.

3. To not get cocky.

    gs,

I will add that Obama looked ‘angry.’

Liberals are now free to explode their little heads
and scream: You said the word ANGRY! You Racist You! Dog whistle for Angry Black Man over here!

    boo hoo hoooo

[…] Professor note that big time Obama fan Chris Mathews had this to say: What was Romney doing? He was winning. This is what happens when a successful business leader debates an amateur golfer on taxes, budgets, […]

2nd Ammendment Mother | October 3, 2012 at 11:56 pm

Considering what we know about Obama’s narcissistic personality – Can you just imagine what kind of screaming matches are about to happen?

Axlerod conceded they lost – Cutter conceded he lost – The media has pretty much conceded he lost.

His big supporters are all telling him he lost. This could get ugly.

How do I turn off the music and watch the Matthews clip?

Can any of you imagine someone so pathologically lazy that they’d forgo at least the minimal preparation necessary to not make a complete ass of themselves on an historical level?

This really piles on to reason why he misses national security meetings: because he’s a lazy bum, and one who could not care less about the fate of the nation.

And why is everyone so interested in what MSNBC has to say?

You are NOT trained animals.

(Or are you, and you don’t realize it?)

Po’wittle Cwissy!! He cwy…He rend pwicey threads…He pull missing hair…He WEEEEEP…!

Ohhhh, God, it’s nice to see Lefty Shitbirds inconsolable over unexpected b’yotch slappin’ of their Infant Majesty!!

Over on CNN, James Carville was having–I swear to GAWD–a Blast dizzing and head shaking over Obam-Bam’s(Non)performance.

As great as tonight was, remember: there’s two (plus one) more.

Also, there are credible rumors afoot (Ben that Obama is preparing a “Wag the Dog” attack on Libya (Breitbart, October Surprise: Obama Plans Major Airstrike on Libyan Targets) as the “October Surprise.”

Tonight was fun. It was wonderful that somebody on our side finally took it to Obama in a meaningful way for the first time ever.

But there’s still a long road ahead, fraught with peril.

We’ve refilled the lamp with the best kind of oil; now it’s time to get up and resume the fight.

This debate was far and above ALL of my expectations for Romney. He was so good and it was only magnified by Obama being so bad. We just won this thing.

Obama needs to file charges against Romney for assault and battery.

Professor, I do the same thing. I either watch, or switch to, MSNBC for these things to get a entertainment fix from the extremist screamathons.

Chris Matthews is the de facto spokesmen for the extremist left wing base and their heads are detonating in unison!

I also a caught a tweet from @MMFlint (Michael Moore) crapping on Obama for much the same reasons Spokesman Tingles was ranting about.

The Texas Senate #BeloDebate Mods and the Massachusetts #MasenDebate Mod were all three trashed to a fare-thee-well by the extremist LW base as well and tonight’s Mod will likely not be spared either.

I will sleep well tonight knowing they wont.

Karma was dispensed in massive doses tonight…

Watching MSNBC is key opposition research.

Oh, the joy listening to the whining ad complaining.

I believe that what you think is ‘opposition research,’ is actually enabling MSNBC. Who they represent is such a small portion of our culture, that treating them as a peer actually elevates them. And if you think there is no residual effect on your mood about things after watching it, I urge you to reconsider. Try going cold-turkey – you’ll see what I’m talking about.

Jack The Ripper | October 4, 2012 at 12:15 am

Regardless of who “won” the “debate,” there is one thing that we know: Such a waste is President Obama’s first term or only term.

Either way, such a waste.

I never bought into “Hope and Change,” and did not vote for President Obama. [Did not vote for Senator John McCain either as my state was not in play, and, the First Amendment says “Congress shall make no law . . . abridging the freedom of speech,” not “Congress shall make no law abridging freedom of speech unless you are a highly decorated veteran who endured far more than anyone ever should, but want to run for President and have been on a lengthy crusade to insulate yourself from the Keating Five Scandal.”]

Here is someone who made it into the Oval Office after just a little time in state office and even less in federal office.

But, he is smart (if misguided) and has a reassuring baritone presence.

Plus, he is very well educated, at least in the academic sense by virtue of prep school and other privileges.
And what did President Obama do with his powerful office, a congressional majority, and, most importantly, a strong rapport with the (please forgive the shorthand” “47 percent.”

Did he seek to heal the wounded race relations in this country, which seemed fairly quiet between the James Byrd campaign ad against George W. Bush and the inept state and federal response to Hurricane Katrina?

Did President seek to inspire those who feel permanently disadvantage?

Did he try to frame a new understanding (other than beer diplomacy at the White House between Harvard Professor Cornel West and the police officer who arrested Professor West)?

Did he do any of the following?

Reform public schools that fail the disadvantaged more than anyone else?

Reform the tax code?

Repatriate earnings parked oversees by ex-pat companies and individuals?

Actually achieve a “reset” with the Islamic world?

No! He did none of those things.

In fact, he sewed MORE seeds of resentment, misunderstanding, mistrust, and, in some instances, downright hatred and hostility.

They say the overwhelming majority of lower income people who win the lottery are broke again in roughly one to three years. People like libertarian radio commentator Neal Boortz explain this as a sort of mental programming along the lines of “the rich are rich because they keep making the choices that made them rich and the poor stay poor, despite all assistance and windfalls, because they keep making the choices that made them poor.”
Barack Obama did not dedicate his career to politics, business, academia, or even any laudable “community organizing” as the only one I can think of is the lawsuit that expanded home loans to marginal borrowers (and think of their crushed spirits after they qualified, they searched, they bought, they moved, they purchased more furniture, they had a housewarming in which they showcased their happiness to friends and family, and then they were stuck with too much principal, interest, taxes, insurance. Did the same number of people help them move out as helped them celebrate already moving in?

Such a waste. But, Neal Boortz would have predicted it: The individual known as Barack Hussein Obama was a political lottery winner, and he squandered it. Four years later, he is politically broke and the rest of us flat out broker.

[P.S. –Without resorting to any reference aids, please name President Obama’s cabinet members. It is a lot harder to do than in past administrations. Why? Because they got less scandal troubles? Maybe, but the cynical might question whether alleged scandals are pursued by the press and the Justice Department in different administrations. Is it because his cabinet members have done very few memorable things, either good or bad (except Holder and Geitner)? Could it be that President Obama has a cabinet that is so invisible because he felt that having Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was eclipsing enough?]

I meant to add something along the lines of “Instead of making a good faith effort to accomplish ANY of these things, President Obama played golf. Lots and lots of golf. Why attend national security briefings in person, or any of the things I have mentioned if you can retreat to a Secret Service patrolled golf course?”

Jack The Ripper | October 4, 2012 at 12:39 am

The piece goes on much further, but here is what Andrew Sullivan wrote in the first few paragraphs of his post-presidential debate commentary:

“Look: you know how much I love the guy, and you know how much of a high information viewer I am, and I can see the logic of some of Obama’s meandering, weak, professorial arguments. But this was a disaster for the president for the key people he needs to reach, and his effete, wonkish lectures may have jolted a lot of independents into giving Romney a second look.

“Obama looked tired, even bored; he kept looking down; he had no crisp statements of passion or argument; he wasn’t there. He was entirely defensive, which may have been the strategy. But it was the wrong strategy. At the wrong moment.

“The person with authority on that stage was Romney – offered it by one of the lamest moderators ever, and seized with relish. This was Romney the salesman. And my gut tells me he sold a few voters on a change tonight. It’s beyond depressing. But it’s true.”

Mr. Sullivan, is it possible that Mitt Romney is “not a student in Mr. Obama’s classroom,” as are so many of the fawning others in this Timothy Leary, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan-ish existence that is what the United States of America has become?

TrooperJohnSmith in reply to Jack The Ripper. | October 4, 2012 at 12:55 am

Clowns like Sullivan are mystified, because they don’t live in the real world. To them, “real world” connotes an MTV show with a lot of bleeped swear words and needy people. They cannot relate to regular people, because they detest those types of people.

To them, Obama has a remarkable record, because he is one of them and he tells them he has a great record. The platitudes and rehearsed key-words that roll off Obama’s tongue like intellectual spittle are lapped up by these effete sycophants as the stuff of absolute truth. Like Josef and Magda Goebbels, the liars have begun to believe the lies to the extent that it defines their existence and drives them to utter insanity.

They cannot believe that some Mormon rube from Flyover Country, who has actually had a J-O-B, has kids who’ve never been in rehab and actually believes in all this Founding Fathers’ crap, can best their champion in anything, much less debate. Sullivan and the rest of his gang really believe that Obama’s musings and utterances are some type of incredibly nuanced language that cannot be understood by the rest of us dolts, therefore the fawning Fourth Estate exists to translate for the unwashed.

The Left is truly mentally ill, as Dr. Savage says. This election will determine whether those inmates will rule or whether that quaint notion of limited government, as espoused by all those silly old white men a gillion years ago, will endure. Obama likes to invoke Lincoln, but if anyone saves the Union a second time, his name will be Romney.

The platitudes and rehearsed key-words that roll off Obama’s tongue like intellectual spittle are lapped up by these effete sycophants as the stuff of absolute truth.

      Beauteous phraseology. 🙂

As noted below, Obama is a complete phony who has always had only the likes of Chris Matthews to answer to, another phony. Tonight there was nowhere for either of them to hide.

Chris Matthews is a loud-mouthed fool. If he’d shut up for a few of his delusional minutes, he might learn something.

“Who would have ever thought that the October surprise was Mitt Romney?!”

(Leftists) really believe that Obama’s musings and utterances are some type of incredibly nuanced language that cannot be understood by the rest of us dolts, therefore the fawning Fourth Estate exists to translate for the unwashed.

You could be quoting from the lefty site I belong to:

1. They worry whether the debate audience is intelligent enough to register Obama’s blowout victory.

2. They’re counting on “fact checkers” to explain things to the peasants tomorrow.

3. I trust Romney has a rapid response team ready to fire back.

Sitting around this evening, I was thinking about how badly Obama bombed the debate. It was really a devastating ego blow to Mr Hopey-Change. But if you think back to 4 years ago, Obama was really running against Bush, using McCain and Palin as surrogates. He didn’t have to lay down any concrete plans and could be vague and upbeat. This time around, he’s running on his own record. He has to try and convince people that they’re so much better off today than they were four years ago. That’s a tough row to hoe. No wonder he was so grim.

The truth is that Lehrer did his level best to help Obama, offering hints a couple of times, but always allowing the President to ramble on beyond the agreed time limits. Romney wisely did not object since the more Obama spoke, the better Romney looked.

Bottom line: Obama was the 9 year old caught stealing. Romney was Dad.

I can sum up the debate in one short sentence – it describes Obama’s past performance as a Senator, a President, and as a participant at this debate.

“Obama voted ‘Present'”

BannedbytheGuardian | October 4, 2012 at 2:58 am

I read comments after the debate. I am pleased to hear that Romney’s obvious intellectual capacities (concurrent law & mba ) & business executive experience are finally on show.
seeing some changes in these directions.
Just last week the Daily Telegraph was running a front page article claiming Romney did not know why airplane windows don’t open. It has been mind boggling & these journolists & editors are not even voting! Beats me why they have taken such a hatred to him.

I was at the doc (harvard post graduate ) doing the arrangements for a knee reconstruct as a full paying customer. If anyone is interested in comparative costs I have all the numbers uncontaminated by insurance & or semi NHS. I mention this here because Romneycare has many similarities to ours.

If he wins you will be

BannedbytheGuardian | October 4, 2012 at 3:00 am

To finsh -heading somewhat down that path for sure.

Since O’bammy in general has been avoiding confrontation for the past few weeks, could he be experiencing some sort of breakdown?

I wouldn’t put it past for his handlers to be concealing the truth from the public.

If I’m right, it surely would explain the appearances on Letterman, the View etc.

Irregardless, he has exceeded his capacity while Romney displayed his superiority.

A very good night indeed…

Three times, I think, Obama mentioned president Clinton by name. That’s a sign of utter desperation, especially for an ego maniac like Obama who so utterly detests Bill Clinton.

If nothing else illustrates the depths to which the Democratic party has sunk, this marriage of total convenience,at the expense of any personal integrity whatsoever, should.

Chris Matthews: “Obama should watch network MSNBC.”

News to Chris Matthews: The garbage you spew is so despicable, out of context, and just outright inaccurate that even this President won’t mention it in a debate. He’ll let his Super PAC’s make those claims where he can quietly say they are entitled to their opinions, he’ll maybe even say similar things in his campaign stump speeches. But there is no way that he’d say those kind of lies to Romney’s face. They just don’t have the same teeth when Romney is there ready to respond: “I know that you and your running mate keep saying that and I know it’s a popular thing to say with a lot of people, but it’s just not the case. Look, I’ve got five boys. I’m used to people saying something that’s not always true, but just keep on repeating it and ultimately hoping I’ll believe it. But that — that is not the case. All right?”

Good Lord! An exceptionally maniacal rant, even for you, Tingles. I still want to see your head explode, like the guy on “Scanners”, but you never fail to amuse and befuddle those of us who wonder why you insist on skipping your meds.
