Harvard-educated liberal Obamamaniac killer Amy Bishop sentenced to life in prison

Harvard-educated liberal Obamamaniac killer Amy Bishop sentenced to life in prison

Amy Bishop, who shot up her colleagues at the University of Alabama, was one in a long line of violent criminals the MSM and left-blogpshere immediately tagged as a Tea Partier without any basis.

My post at the time, Inevitable “Tea Party” and “Amy Bishop” Link Attempt:

There is no actual link between Alabama-Hunstville shooter Amy Bishop and the Tea Party movement.

By all accounts, Bishop was extremely liberal and a huge Obama fan (to the point of being described by someone who knew her as being obsessed with Obama).

But in keeping with the attempt to smear as crazy the Tea Party movement specifically, and anyone who is not a Democrat generally, now comes the inevitable attempt to link the Tea Parties and Bishop, centered on a charge of shared racism.

Harvard-educated Obama-loving liberal killer Bishop was sentenced to life in prison.  Via The Boston Herald:

A Harvard-educated biologist was sentenced to life in prison without parole Monday after being convicted of going on a shooting rampage during a faculty meeting at an Alabama university, killing three colleagues and wounding three others in 2010.

The jury deliberated for about 20 minutes before convicting Amy Bishop. The former professor at the University of Alabama in Huntsville showed no reaction as the verdict was read. She did not speak in court, but her attorney said she has often expressed great remorse for the victims and their families…

Investigator Charlie Gray also said police believe Bishop opened fire during the faculty meeting because she was angry over being denied tenure, which effectively ended her career at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Remember the headlines tying her to Harvard, liberalism and Obamamania, that never were.

I also read that the possible charges against her killing her brother years earlier were dropped, I believe because the sentence for that crime would be redundant, or something.

To me, I think she should be tried and have it on the record she shot her brother, if indeed she were to be found guilty.

Oh, well. Wonder how many degrees she can rack up in jail on our tax dollars?! (sorry, I’m in a bit of a snarky mood today…..not sure why, but it may have something to do with this Fast & Furious Univision expose. Disgusting. Shameful. And, I believe, criminal.)

The War on Drugs needs to end. The sale and consumption of drugs should be legalized and taxed. It’s availability should be restricted and regulated. The individuals who sell or consume drugs should not be eligible for any social benefits. The individuals who seek rehabilitation should receive aid funded through revenue generated by the taxation of the sale and consumption of drugs.

That said, it would also be helpful to determine the underlying causes which motivate consumption of drugs, especially the psychotropic variety. It should be treated the same as consumption of alcohol to excess, or other extreme behaviors which engender mental or physical dysfunction, and are thereby a cause of dangerous disruptions at home, at work, or the community at large.

Or maybe it was this one…….so fuming angry and disgusted with this administration, they TOTALLY disgust me today:

Asbolutely Uncertain via RightChange about Obama’s horrible foreign policy regarding Israel.

Truly. Sickening.

I just don’t know what has me more torqued: Fast & Furious, the slaughter of the Libyan ambassador and this horrifyingly blatant cover-up (and the media’s complicity in it all), or the Israel betrayal. The blood on the hands of this administration……..beyond belief that I am saying this about America!

Fuming mad!!! Nov. 6th can’t come soon enough!

And yet, a majority of my fellow Jews will vote for Barack Obama. Israel is a stable representative government that includes Arab and Palestinians and Christians among its citizens. Yet, around here, the biggest worry amongst Jewish voters is not terrorism or Israel’s security or the spread of representative government via example (which would be advanced by Israel’s security), no, its that the “Religious Right” might get its way on prayer in school, and creches on public grounds, and some tinkering with reproductive rights – all of which would be subject to the Strict Scrutiny Standard of Judicial Review! [And reproductive rights would be protected by many existing state statutes and by future state-level statutes, referendums, constitutional amendments, constitutional interpretations. In the face of a scaled-back Roe, past votes (such as in South Dakota) would be proven to have been merely symbolic gestures while Roe is what it is.

But, the Supreme Court has neither the sword of the purse, only its credibility. And the justices seek to protect the institution, as they should under the Constitution’s Separation of Powers. So, Roe v. Wade is not only subject to Strict Scrutiny, but is highly unlikely to ever be overturned.

Between that and shrieks of “racism” over the “Obama Phone” video, the following satire popped into my head this morning. I mean, what else can one do at this point except laugh, cry, and mock when reason falls flat.

So, here goes. I hope you enjoy:

    WARNING – SATIRE

    AGAIN, WARNING – SATIRE

Jew Who Posted Farrakhan Video Online Deemed Racist: An Identity Politics Satire / Parody

[Author is Jewish and Saw/Heard Louis Farrakhan Speak at Cornell]

On the heels of the Obama Phone video controversy and a commentary in the Washington Post that the 2012 presidential election might turn on racism, an anonymous Jew is being condemned from all sides after posting online a video excerpt of the Reverend Louis Farrakhan’s “never again” speech in which the Good Revered declared that saying “never again” about the Holocaust doesn’t mean a thing when God slams the door to the oven shut.

At first, Jewish leaders thought the video was being posted by an anti-semite who supported the Good Reverend’s remarks. Then, after discovering that the person who posted the video was Jewish, many Jewish leaders said that any Jewish person who would post such a video must be a self-hating Jew.

The anonymous Jew who posted the Louis Farrakhan video is currently being called a racist by Spike Lee, Harry Belafonte, and the Reverends Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson, because it turns out the Jew is not self-hating and actually lost many relatives in the Holocaust and has videotaped the historical accounts of relatives who survived the Holocaust.

The Jew who posted the video agreed to speak with us only on conditions of strict anonymity because he was afraid that Spike Lee would tweet out his address. Earlier this year, Mr. Lee tweeted out the address of the neighborhood watch aficionado who has been charged with the second degree-murder of Trayvon Martin. An elderly couple who had nothing to do with the killing was driven from their home, in fear for their lives, when it turned out that Mr. Lee tweeted out their address instead of the address for the defendant in the Martin killing. Mr. Lee has not been charged with inciting a mob or reckless conduct. It is not believed that Mr. Lee has apologized to the elderly couple or offered to compensate them.

The person who posted the video said that he did not even realize that Lewis Farrakhan was black, he just wanted to let the world hear Mr. Farrakhan in “his own words.” “Frankly, Lewis Farrakhan looks an awful lot like one of my relatives who died in the Holocaust. Same hair part, same complexion, and they both had a fondness for bow ties. I am not accusing Mr. Farrakhan of being a ‘self-hating Jew.’ I did not even think he was Jewish because he is a reverend. I simply assumed that he was another racist, bigoted American of non-Jewish European descent.”

This explanation carried little weight with Reverend Farrakhan, who called the anonymous Jew “a racist kyke.” When reached for comment, Mr. Lee called the anonymous Jew a “racist cracker” and asked for his address. Reverend Jackson said, “that Jew should go back to Hymie Town.” We have been unable to reach Reverend Jackson against for clarification of whether “Hymie Town” means New York City, as he famously called it 25 years ago, or some other location such as Jerusalem, Tel Aviv or Haifa.

Harry Belafonte’s remarks are unprintable not only under current standards of decency but also under some fair takes on First Amendment jurisprudence.

Ward Churchill called the anonymous Jew “a little Eichmann,” and asked for his job back at the University of Colorado, which just won a victory at the Supreme Court of Colorado upholding a lower court’s ruling that the University did not act improperly when it fired Mr. Churchill.

When asked how he would vote in the presidential election, the anonymous Jew said that he would vote for Barack Obama. When asked about the intellectual consistency of being opposed to Lewis Farrakhan’s comments about the Holocaust but voting for a president who many people feel has not been sufficiently supportive of the State of Israel in the face of existential threats of wiping Israel of the map and denying the Holocaust by Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the anonymous Jew said, “I am Jewish. If I don’t vote Democrat I am going to face even more accusations of being both a ‘self-hating’ Jew and racist against black people.”

Similar stories that are being investigated include a lifelong white Democrat who voted for President Obama in 2008 because of party affiliation, but who is now voting against President Obama because the Democrat lost his Chrysler dealership under the Obama Administration’s auto bailout, and a study that shows that white Democrats who are biased against Native Americans show only 96.875% of the support for Elizabeth Warren as do politically correct white Democrats. Elizabeth Warren is 1/32nd Cherokee or Delaware Indian. The former auto dealer is being accused of being 100% racist and the white Democrats who are bigoted against Native Americans are being accused of being 3.125% racist. Of course, white Democrats who vote for Obama are only 50% racist and all Republicans are racist, even if they vote for Obama.

Elsewhere, a poll of Republicans finds that nearly 100% of Republicans consider Winston Churchill to be a more significant historical figure than Ward Churchill. A similar poll of Democrats found that more than half did not know who either Churchill was, and that over half of the remainder did not know one of the Churchills or the other. Of the remaining minority of Democrats who were familiar with both Churchills, 87% believe that Ward Churchill was the more important figure on the issue of fighting racism, discrimination and bigotry. A follow up poll of Democrats will compare Winston Churchill and Louis Farrakhan.

All of the Democrats surveyed were familiar with Cher, Ellen Barking, Jason Biggs, Samuel L. Jackson, and Harry Belafonte.

The Obama Administration called Winston Churchill a chauvinistic colonialist and offered Ward Churchill the position of Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice.

We will keep you posted on the story as it develops further. Spike Lee, Ward Churchill and Reverend Sharpton are scheduled to appear on Cornell alum Bill Maher’s show. Reverend Sharpton is scheduled to appear on MSNBC with Rachel Maddow or Chris Matthews. Cornell alum Keith Olbermann has not announced any guests.

Chelsea Handler will have the Kardashians as guests to discuss their efforts in sticking up for both blacks and Jews in one recent episode of the Kardashians that can be found here:

I suspect the Massachusetts charges were only filed as insurance in case she somehow got out of Alabama with less than a life sentence.

If charges had been filed at the time she killed her brother it is likely three people would still be alive today. Not only did she “accidently” fire a pump action shotgun twice but she then left the house with the shotgun and tried to use it to steal a car before the cops got there. But her mother was big in local politics and Democrat officials, even appointed ones, do have their privileges in Massachusetts.

theduchessofkitty | September 30, 2012 at 7:13 pm

OK, OT, but get your butts over to the TV and watch the Fast & Furious special on Univision. Right now.

So far, all I can tell you about it is… OUTRAGEOUS!!!

DINORightMarie in reply to theduchessofkitty. | September 30, 2012 at 8:02 pm

Dear @Duchess, if I had cable, I would be. Is it in English? Or Spanish, with English subtitles?

Either way, I will have to wait for the video clips, excerpts, and YouTube postings…… *sigh*

Thanks for that reminder to all the LI readers!! God willing, there WILL be justice this side of heaven for these evil, despicable murders in this administration (again, just IMHO, until proven…..)!

I live in Huntsville. The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) is not an “out-of-the-way obscure rural campus in the deep South”, though it is certainly not top tier. Be that as it may, Amy Bishop finally pleaded guilty when her attempted insanity defense fell apart and will serve 3 consecutive life terms, one for each person she killed. Anyone who seriously believes in a Tea Party connection of any sort may be safely ignored. I have no idea what her politics are/were. As an interesting aside, she will still receive royalties for a patent she holds. Presumably, there will be a civil trial of some sort which will re-direct them to victims and their families. HTH

Jack The Ripper | September 30, 2012 at 8:04 pm

According to Michelle Malkin back in 2010:

Amy Bishop is the Obama-loving professor who is accused of gunning down her University of Alabama colleagues over tenure denial. By all accounts, she was the beneficiary of soft-on-crime largesse throughout her violent life.

Denied tenure. That puts Elizabeth Warren’s claim of being Native American in new light. When they gave her tenure, I guess we “dodged a bullet” or a tomahawk or an arrow or whatever.

Say that Warren is nuts and you’ll get no argument from me.

It is a different matter to imply that she could have been a public murderess if balked. That degrades the credibility of the LI community. Above all, it debases Bill’s work against Warren: work that could make the difference in the election.

Henry Hawkins in reply to gs. | October 1, 2012 at 12:17 am

Exactly. What Bishop did to her brother and her three colleagues at UAH emits from a dark place far deeper in her psyche than mere politics. That’s she’s a rabid liberal Obama supporter is coincidence, irrelevant to her crimes.

Smearing Warren with it is bush league, sophomoric, and plain wrong.

Smearing Warren with it is bush league, sophomoric, and plain wrong.

The three words I decided not to post are somewhat stronger than yours, but we’re on the same wavelength.

However, without being a mental health professional, I do sense that Warren “has issues”. Her exhibitions of fury are the most obvious thing that concerns me, but they’re not the only thing.

          Narcissistic Personality Disorder

          [301.81 DSM-IV]

A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:

          (1) has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)

          (2) is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love

          (3) believes that he or she is “special” and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)

          (4) requires excessive admiration

          (5) has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations

          (6) is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends

          (7) lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others

          (8) is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her

          (9) shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes

          ———————————-

          Spooky, iddin’t it?

Amy: So, with your rage-disappointment over tenure denial you killed several colleagues and are off to prison forever. Okay, follow my thinking here, dear…Far, FAR better solution would have been the pistol to your head and Bang-BANG. No dead professors, grieving families and NO Prison for you…ya know, everybody’s Happy.

So shouldn’t Obama have announced that the future must not belong to those who deny tenure?

BannedbytheGuardian | September 30, 2012 at 9:51 pm

In April 2010 in the backwoods of NC I came across a couple both of whom were university biology professors /lecturers from Alabama.

The wife was on staff at the Alabama university but the husband also lectured in Huntsville. Lucky for him he was not contracted that year because he was doing the Appalachian Trail.

They had begun ion early 2010 & were making slow progress in NC in knee deep snow & not feeling too happy about their choice.

By mid Feb they were forced back to civilization & then found out how judicious their winter hike was.

What is becoming increasingly clear is that liberals should not be allowed to own or handle firearms, ever.

This is the case which began to expose Rep. Bill Delahunt’s (D-MA) role in covering up the murder of Bishops brother by Amy Bishop in Braintree Mass in the early 1990’s. I lived and practiced around the corner from the Crime Scene. I personally spoke with several of the Officers who initially responded and eventually persued and detained Amy Bishop. They were not very happy on the deal that ensued involving the Braintree Police Chief, Bishop’s mother and Bill Delahunt who was the DA. Bishop walked with no charges and then the files were lost. Delahunt smartly did not attempt re-election to Congress in 2010 and apparently the inside Mass. machine was able to make that whole sordid affair go away. So I am not surprised if the matter of murdering her brother with a shotgun in a fit of rage is never adjucated in a Mass. court of Law…

NC Mountain Girl in reply to DrJim77. | September 30, 2012 at 11:54 pm

I researched the story after the Alabama shooting. The cover up in Braintree reeked of abuse. There was evidence of multiple shots fired inside the home. Amy Bishop had not only fled the scene, she had attempted to steal a car at gun point from a nearby dealership and there were clippings from a news story about a carjacking to escape to scene of the crime in her room. All this suggest premeditation. But Amy’s mom was on the the board that reviews personnel policies for the city. After mom meet with officials no charges were filed because it was just an “accident” and the file was lost.

The Unanswered Questions of this Case:

–0f the 12 people in the conference room at the time of the shooting, three are dead, two were seriously injured and might not remember much, which leaves seven witnesses. 0nly one of these, a Professor Moriarity, has been publicly interviewed and has identified Bishop as the shooter. Where are the other interviews of survivors, and why haven’t three of the unharmed witnesses even been identified?

–Why did Amy Bishop repeatedly say “It didn’t happen. There’s no way …. they are still alive” in the first interviews after her arrest? What did she mean by that?

–In the first hours after the shooting, the local newspapers website posted a photo of another person being led away in handcuffs from the scene. Who was this person, and why do commentators who did see this photo say it looked like a man wearing women’s clothing? Why was he/she carrying ‘shells’ in her/his pockets? Where did they come from? What caliber were they? Did they smell like they had recently been fired? Were all the expended shells from the shooting recovered at the crime scene?

–Is there any of the ubiquitous video evidence that is everywhere nowadays that places her at the scene? None has been released.

–Was Gun Shot Residue evidence found on her hands? Were her fingerprints found on the weapon recovered? Did the recovered weapon smell like it had recently been fired? Can all the slugs and expended shell cases be traced back to the weapon allegedly used?

–What was the motive? They have implied that Amy Bishop was angry over being denied tenure, but officially speaking they did not posit any motive. What did Amy herself have to say?

–Since her arrest, Amy Bishop was never given the opportunity to tell her side of the story. Yet there are always two sides to any story. Why haven’t we heard hers?

–Why does the only witness to testify publicly on what happened in that conference room continue to say that she heard the weapon ‘click’ after it jammed, when any person who’s ever tried to clear a jam in a semi-automatic knows you can’t move the trigger, much less make it go ‘click?’

–After dropping her weapon and jacket into a bathroom, Bishop is alleged to have walked into a lab class and asked to borrow a cell phone from a colleague. Why is this person never identified, or ask if Bishop appeared nervous, excited, flushed, etc? Is it just coincidence that the person arrested carrying ‘shells’ was described as a lab student of Amy Bishop?
