Ted Cruz serves Chick-fil-A at victory party

Ted Cruz won a stunning victory tonight.

Twitter was abuzz.

But one Tweet with a photo seemed to capture the night.

Well… My guy won tonight so now I just have to keep the trend going in November.

Good job!!

That is some good chicken!

Leftist heads exploding in 5…4…3…2…

Congratulations, Mr. Cruz!

“(In case you needed more reasons to dislike TPers)”

…They have good taste?

Mwahahahaa!! I love this. Stupid Leftist Trolls.

Tomorrow is Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day. I’m going to place a double order.

Congratulations Ted Cruz. I sincerely hope you make it to DC and that Washington doesn’t change you.

As for the haters tweeting. I have a question. Just how is the owner of Chick-fil-A hurting gays? Does he refuse to serve you, does he discriminate in hiring? How has his personal opinion affected his business practices? Show proof and then maybe we can talk.

I would imagine it’s the donations made to groups that oppose gay marriage that they view as harming gays. Much as the American Family Association felt that the Oreo gay pride campaign hurt them, and so decided to boycott the cookie.

Awing1 has it right, as far as the claims go. But… Chick-Fil-A has been donating to what some would call “anti-gay” causes for many years without comment. Clearly, his defense of the word “marriage” is what’s got people so up in arms.

I brought this topic up on my FB page and – I have a lot of lefty friends. One brought this up – actually claiming that Chick-Fil-A donated to groups that actively sought the repression of others’ civil rights (!). I told him that “marriage” is not a right, and asked if he could point out the “anti-gay” causes to which Chick-Fil-A has donated.

It’s been several days now without response…

Among the groups that Chick-Fil-A has donated to that could be viewed as “anti-gay” is the Marriage and Family Foundation.

But your first point is well taken, beyond the obvious unconstitutionality of trying to ban Chick-Fil-A for its political speech, the general boycott response seems to be about the stance of the CEO of Chick-Fil-A towards a social and political issue, with the donations as a side issue. I see this as most similar to the boycott of JC Penney after they hired Ellen DeGeneres as their spokesperson. Bill O’Reilly said it best when he compared trying to get Ellen fired to the Communist blacklists of the McCarthy era. I’d say this is the same, punishing a company for hiring someone who these individuals have a disagreement with on some abstract political view is no different than McCarthyism.

Observer in reply to MAB. | August 1, 2012 at 9:16 am

All the “hate” in this controversy appears to be coming from the left (as usual). There was not one word in Mr. Cathy’s statement about hating anybody. He just said he believes in the traditional definition of marriage. If that now qualifies people as “haters” then most of the people in the U.S. are “haters.”

What’s really “hateful” is the unwillingness of the left to allow non-leftist Americans to express a difference of opinion without being subjected to ugly insults, threats of death and bodily injury, and the left’s attempts to shut down businesses and deprive people of their livelihoods.

The problem with your argument is, I’ve provided a pretty clear example of it occurring on the right as well.

Don’t expect the GOP to learn anything from this. They won’t. They’ll try to smother or co-opt Cruz. This war goes on.

Lyndsey Graham, you’re next.

That reminds me – I need to call my sister to meet me at the Chik-Fil-A half-way between our houses on Saturday. Luckily there’s a Wal-Mart in the same shopping center, so we can “group” our errands. 😀

Dewhurst was up speaking about conservative values and tearing up thanking everyone supporting his campaign. Was he tearing up because he lost his promotion or that he was sorry he didn’t spend enough time and money in the last month smearing and lying about Cruz? Pathetic.

Congrats to Ted and a big thanks to everyone who helped make this happen!

As for Chick-fil-A… can’t seem to find one in my parts of Korea.

But…I’m going to Houston in 10 days for meetings, and I definitely plan on eating there. I may even do something off the wall, like offer to pay for a few meals.

Too bad they don’t deliver… I’d pay to have a few plates delivered to the local democrat office.

Let me know when Cruz actually does something, besides take two aspirin for that throbbing headache from Mitch McConnell’s thumb.

Winning an election wins my grandchildren nothing…in my ever cynical point of view.

( I concede it’s a start–merely)

Kinda the wrong way to look at it. No one individual changes this. No one individual gets us back on track. I would love to say we have a Reagan, somewhere on the horizon. I don’t see any.

It is a process of eventually overwhelming the RINOs. The damage that has been done (and the GOPe’s are just as complicit as the Dhimmis)and it is going to take a long time to fix. What is incumbent on all of us is to hold every elected officals’ feet to the fire CONSTANTLY.

I would like to think that we can get today’s grandchildren out of the pawn shop that the Obinga regime has sold them to. I hope there is the political will to do so.

Congratulations, Ted Cruz! Great job!

Back in the day, when Jose Cruz was a star on the Astros, there was a long, loud cheer of
“C-R-U-U-U-U-Z” that would reverberate throughout the stadium, so we may hear it again, but this time for our new Republican candidate and future Senator, Ted Cruz!
