Let it be recorded that MSM 100-day war on Romney started on foreign soil

Let it be recorded that MSM 100-day war on Romney started on foreign soil

Romney’s foreign trip is the mainstream media’s coming out party in favor of Obama this electoral season, an obsessive nit-picking the likes of which Obama has not seen since ever.

John Hinderaker has it right:

The Most Striking Thing About Mitt Romney’s Overseas Trip…

…has been the press coverage. It has been hypercritical, to put it mildly….

By any reasonable standard, Romney’s trip has been successful. Yet press coverage has been unrelentingly negative. This AP story sums up the press’s angle well: “Another hiccup?

None of this will have any effect on the election, except insofar as Romney benefits with pro-Israel voters and with Polish-American and Catholic voters. But it is a useful reminder that the media-formerly-known-as-mainstream are still lying in wait, and will pounce on any opportunity to give the Obama campaign a boost.

The latest MSM attack line is that a Romney spokesman said some bad words to the media.

Alternate headline: “Conservative support for Romney now at 100 percent.”

That’s Allahpundit’s take on this video of obnoxious journalists who tip-toe around scared to ask a tough question of Obama, and who ganged up on Neil Munroe, yet who scream at Romney while he visits the Polish tomb of the unkown soldier:

(transcript via The Weekly Standard)

REPORTER: “Governor Romney—“
REPORTER: “—some of the mishaps on your trip?”
REPORTER: “Governor Romney, do you have a statement for the Palestinians?”
REPORTER: “What about your gaffes?”
REPORTER: “Governor Romney, do you feel that yours gaffes have overshadowed your foreign trip?”
GORKA [Romney spokesman]: “This is a holy site for the Polish people. Show some respect.”
REPORTER: “Governor Romney—“
GORKA: “Show some respect, Jim.”
REPORTER: “We haven’t had another chance to ask him questions.”
GORKA: “Kiss my ass. This is a holy site for the Polish people. Show some respect.”

The MSM Declaration of War on Romney was made on foreign soil, this last week of July, 2012. So it is recorded.

There is still massive denial Obama’s reelection is in “grave danger.” Wait till the denial collapses, we’ll be seeing the list of books Romney banned as Governor.

We’ll hear about everything that was mentioned in the primary but promptly buried, whether true or not.

http://hotair.com/archives/2012/07/31/harry-reid-this-might-be-not-true-but-some-bain-investor-who-i-wont-name-told-me-romney-didnt-pay-income-taxes-for-10-years/

The Collective is going to play every dirty trick they can contrive.

This is just the beginning. Part of our response has to be the cheerfully laugh off the total BS that we see, and EFFECTIVELY counter it with solid, rational messaging.

Think of Breitbart and Friedman. Excellent examples.

Why would i vote for Romney when Obama is doing a bang up job destroying the Democratic party?

Disgusting people. It’s inaccurate to call them failed journalists or simply shallow, cheap, sick imposters of a great profession. They’re active enablers of tyranny. They’re also the totally predictable product of civically and morally denuded and ideologically poisoned education system. But that doesn’t forgive them. If Romney doesn’t realize after this trip that he’s not simply battling Obama but a truly diseased media, and that this mortal and vicious battle will continue until these people are engaged to their face and exposed and humiliated, then he’s just not very bright. This RINO whistling-in-the-dark that the media is just a cross for us to bear, just an annoying bias that we all have to deal with, has got to stop.

Palin recognized this and deals with them on these terms. Yet, when she takes her knife to them, people say she’s whining about the LSM. Go figure!

It’s high time Romney brings aboard Palin, at least as an media consultant. Her experiences, explained to Romney and his media-handlers behind closed doors, should be a necessary primer for Republican Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates.

That’s what the media and the Democrats have done regularly to Palin for the last 3-1/2+ years. They treated her with utmost contempt, never an inch, on the fear that she would run and be the foremost candidate against Obama in ’12. All that they have done to her in those 3-1/2 years are going to be thrown at Romney in less than 100 days.

Satan loves the MSM.

Mark Steyn mentioned the other day what needs to be said to:

Some media/reporters
Some Mayors
Harry Reid
Who the hell do you think you are?

MaggotAtBroadAndWall | July 31, 2012 at 5:41 pm

It started with the British media opening fire on Romney after he had the nerve to repeat what the British media had been reporting about the Olympics. The American media piled on. From that point on, the media wanted to create the meme that Romney is gaffe prone and ineffctive at diplomacy.

I don’t think that anything he said was even controversial – at least not controversial enough to justify the over the top firestorm created by the media.

I can only imagine how they’re going to cover the debates.

This is going to backfire in a big way for the network “news” operations and newspapers. America is just not warm to Obama any more. It’s one thing when they are denial about Republicans and conservatives. But they are in denial about their own core audiences.

I just don’t believe the polls. I believe the internal polls are showing Obama far behind which explains the air of desperation his campaign is already projecting. All of the issues are working against him and as in 2008 and for the same reasons, they are just going to get worst going into the end of the year.

Let’s see if we can dodge a major market sell-off by Friday once Draghi’s assurance that “we will and can do whatever is needed to save the Euro Union” proves to be a “misunderstanding”. I’ll bet he claims that he was quoted out of context by Monday.

REPORTER: “Governor Romney—“
MR: “Ah, that’ll be President Romney in a coupla months.”

REPORTER: “—some of the mishaps on your trip?”
MR: “Don’t know what you’re talking about.”

REPORTER: “Governor Romney, do you have a statement for the Palestinians?”
MR: “Again, try ‘President Romney.’ With a little practice, you’ll do just fine. As for the Palestinians, their murderous but childish behavior, all based on core tenets found in Islam’s texts, speaks for itself.”

REPORTER: “What about your gaffes?”
MR: “Don’t know what you’re talking about.”

REPORTER: “Governor Romney, do you feel that yours gaffes have overshadowed your foreign trip?”
MR: “Same answer.”

He doesn’t have the balls for that.

Besides, his stock answer should be “what did Obama say when you asked him that question?” Sigh. He doesn’t have the balls for that either.

Why let the truth get in the way of a good opportunity to trash Romney and protect their presidency. That’s why the polls keep showing Obama in the lead..they intentionally oversample to see if they could depress Republicans with the “inevitability” of Obama’s re-election.

They are a nasty bunch.

BTW, I got a fundraising email from Rick Santorum today asking for help in supporting the PA GOP and defeating Obama. I read the whole long email and there was not one mention of Romney. Zero.

Juba Doobai! in reply to PhillyGuy. | July 31, 2012 at 8:26 pm

Palin is working like an unappreciated dog to defeat Obama and his Commies. Very successfully, too. She doesn’t mention Romney either.

Watch for the media to scour America looking for many more stories like this in the coming weeks.

http://www.wcpo.com/dpp/news/church-refuses-to-marry-black-couple-in-mississippi.

Looking at the couple in the story I suspect race may not be the issue here. The story doesn’t give their ages but he looks a lot older than her. Two summers back the ministers serving my happy little valley all refused to marry a couple that looked a lot like this pair. The bride to be had just turned 18, her chosen groom was 48 and he had cohabited with her mother for most of the previous five years.

Juba Doobai! in reply to NC Mountain Girl. | July 31, 2012 at 8:27 pm

The minister married them. It was some of the congregation who objected to the marriage. Maybe they did on the grounds you offered. Nobody knows cuz the LSM didn’t ask them.

Did the objection come up at the moment when the pastor declares “if there be no objection by anyone as to why these two should not be married, I now pronounce you man and wife.”? I’ve sometimes wondered if anyone ever does raise an objection. And what would happen if one did.

BannedbytheGuardian in reply to Pasadena Phil. | August 1, 2012 at 2:05 am

Yes it is …If anyone should object to this union stand upnow or forever hold your tongue.

It forces people to not just whisper but stand up in public & be on record.

Previously there were also marriage banns which covers this also.

Henry Hawkins in reply to Pasadena Phil. | August 1, 2012 at 12:56 pm

“I’ve sometimes wondered if anyone ever does raise an objection. And what would happen if one did.”

Well, if American TV situation comedies tell us anything, the answer is yes and hilarity ensues.

Wow, those highly vaunted fact checkers are working overtime to “vet” Gov. Romney, which must balance out the huge pass they’ve given their Messiah, their Chosen One.

If the press is destroyed in this country, it’ll be from its suicide, death self-inflicted. So, what’s going to happen to newsprint production? Magazines aren’t doing well either!

News media types are going the way of the DooDoo Bird.

Charles Krauthammer just destroyed the notion that Romney’s comment about culture was a gaffe. He read from a UN report written by Arabs that indicated how culture played a role in economic development in the Arab world. I hope Prof can get the video from Bret Baier’s Fox All Stars segment and post it. The look on the liberal’s face after Charles swatted her aside like a fly was priceless.

Henry Hawkins in reply to PhillyGuy. | July 31, 2012 at 8:12 pm

Though there are dozens of cultural factors that make Israel’s superior, just one explains the gap in economic development: Muslim theocracies self-destruct on 50% of their available talent pool with the total subjugation of women.

Juba Doobai! in reply to Henry Hawkins. | July 31, 2012 at 8:32 pm

The Arabs in the Arab-occupied territories are self-destructing on another 25% of theirs when they teach their children to kill themselves in order to kill Jews and when they strap bombs on the educated ones who can contribute to their society. There is a price to be paid for their “they love life, we love death” nihilism. I would prefer that no one else but them paid it.

TO POLAND, AND TO RESPECTFUL VISITORS, THIS IS SACRED, HOLY, EVEN CONSECRATED GROUND:

“The history of the motherland written through the tomb of an Unknown Soldier!

“I wish to kneel before this tomb to venerate every seed that falls into the earth and dies and thus bears fruit. It may be the seed of the blood of a soldier shed on the battlefield, or the sacrifice of martyrdom in concentration camps or in prisons. It may be the seed of hard daily toil, with the sweat of one’s brow, in the fields, the workshop, the mine, the foundries and the factories. It may be the seed of the love of parents who do not refuse to give life to a new human being and undertake the whole of the task of bringing him up. It may be the seed of creative work in the universities, the higher institutes, the libraries and the places where the national culture is built. It may be the seed of prayer, of service of the sick, the suffering, the abandoned—“all that of which Poland is made”.

“All that in the hands of the Mother of God—at the foot of the cross on Calvary and in the Upper Room of Pentecost!

“All that—the history of the motherland shaped for a thousand years by the succession of the generations (among them the present generation and the coming generation) and by each son and daughter of the motherland, even if they are anonymous and unknown like the Soldier before whose tomb we are now.”

I had a dream while relaxing at work today…

I dreamt about five years into the future, an image of Chris Matthews on his knees before Professor Jacobson’s desk, begging for a job. Eric Erickson had Brian Williams in his office, also begging for work, anything, mail room, whatever. Ace of Spades had Wolf Blitzer in his office – the same, begging for work. And on it went, a miracle daydream…

NBC/Williams sticking to the script this evening. Not a word about his speech, only about ‘controversy’, ‘not going as planned’, boohoo over ‘relations with the press’, including the ‘kiss my ass’ audio – without any of the leadup. Not gonna change, folks.

CIVILITY!! CIVILITY!! CIVILITY!! CIVILITY!!

I played the vid & was shocked. As you might have guessed I am not easily shocked but this was so horrible I am actually very very sad.

Who are these people & their organisations?

The frantic flailing about to characterize “gaffes” just shows how desperate they were to obscure the substance of the trip – reaffirming our close allies who have been disrespected by Obama in favor of cultivating our enemies.

It is the same desperation we see in the Obama campaign. Despite no bruising primary contest and a 3-1 spending edge in battleground states, they can’t lay a glove on Romney.

It’s been building for a while – how many members of Congress or candidates will actually show up at the convention in Charlotte?
