If Mitt Romney had talked about Palestinians the way Obama spoke about Pennsylvanians

If Mitt Romney had talked about Palestinians the way Obama spoke about Pennsylvanians

Mitt Romney is under furious attack from the Palestinian Authority, Hamas, and pro-Obama media for pointing out the truth about why culture matters in the economic success of Israel.

How would these people have reacted if Romney gave this speech:

You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania the Palestinian Territories, and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest Middle East, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton Rabin administration, and the Bush Netanyahu administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not.

And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrantIsraeli sentiment or anti-tradeJewish sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

I suspect the reaction would have been what it now is, with absurd charges of racism and cultural insensitivity.

What a difference a continent makes.

Nice expose. OBOZO and the d-cRAT socialists have been “hoisted with their own petard” so many time that the petard is nearly worn out.

Petard being French for fart! (Actually petard comes from the middle French peter, to break wind). What is it with the left and their desire to be associated with French bodily functions?

“…they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them…”

Well, and turn their kids into guided missiles…

Always seemed a poor pathway to prosperity.

As old as I am, I recall when any scientific findings in the west had to support the teachings of the Catholic Church or face possible heresy charges. These were called ‘the dark ages’.

Theocracies tend not to do well economically because an economy, like mathematics, is indifferent to what is written in holy books.

If Liberals/MSM didn’t have dbl stds, why they’d have no stds at all.

Brilliant!!

“If the left wing of the American political spectrum had no double standards, they would have no standards at all.” — H. R. Mackenzie

Mitt isn’t running for president of the world
Screw them Palestinians, the bleeding heart liberal NY Times and leftist bloggers who hold their tissues.

Out here in quaint, ignernt, deep-blue Fly-Over Country, Palestinians are like the welfare queens of the third-world. Instead of working, they live off the guilt-largesse of the world, using all their time to surf Internet pr0n sites, build weapons and scour the universe for something to feel slighted about. They don’t fight like men, even resorting to using women and kids as human shields or dressing as women, something that would not deter them from killing Israelis, were the shoe on the other foot. In short, they have no honor, no decency and they use their kids as guided munitions.

This push-back on Romney is just acting out for more money, more money, more money. They know they are worthless, lazy, shiftless and violent, but they have it on real good authority that it ain’t their fault!

We embittered religion and gun clingers say, “Fu*k Palestine!”

What a difference a continent makes? What a difference the person who is speaking makes. If not for conservative blog sites, nobody in America would have heard what Obama said.

Live by left-wing ideology. Grow old and disaffected by left-wing ideology.

The Palestinians need to recycle their leaders. For over 1000 years, they have been an obstacle to escaping a static existence.

Fantastic take on this, Professor!

The Romney campaign would do well do copy and paste (and attribute) your post immediately!!

This will be a good test for Romney. Let’s see if he buckles or walks it back.

If you wanna have some FUN with those little Lefty, hipster squirts who wear the Paleostinian (sic) dish towel?

Ask them about the history of Palestine. “Was it ever a country?”

Most of them think the Israelis “stole Palestine” from the Arabs. Not one I’ve ever encountered knows the history.

Ask them where Arafat’s ‘Black September’ got its name. All of them say that’s when the Jews threw them out of their ‘country’. When you explain that in September 1970, King Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan got sick of their shit, and he expelled them and tried to wipe them out in the process.

Their reactions to facts and history are amazing. One young lady even ran into me some weeks later and told me her history professor at UT said I was a ‘Zionist Tool’. When I asked her about his reaction to the facts as I’d stated them, she quoted his an saying, “The fascist Jews write their own history.”

Can’t argue with that (il)logic.

I wonder what would happen if Israel followed the so-called Palestinians and expended all its energy and focus on exterminating its foes. The Arabs have been astoundingly fortunate in their choice of enemy. I can think of few other nations that would have shown such forbearance in the face of such reckless hatred. Imagine if some irredentist Mexicans decided southern California should belong to them and lobbed ten thousand rockets from Tijuana into San Diego. Would there be a brick left atop another for a hundred miles south of the border?

Trooper: no worries. Your post is easily understood

I think that it’s pretty clear that with every Romney statement made during his overseas trip that has met with criticism has actually turned out to be the truth.

If the Palestinians redirected their efforts into quality education for their children, supported local businesses and in general followed the rules of international etiquette, they would be a lot more prosperous than the condition that they find themselves in.

Often, the disenfranchised cam find the villain by looking into the mirror…

Meanwhile, Obama is trying to claim credit for the Clinton economy.

Even better, replace Rabin and Netanyahu with Arafat, Hamas, the UN, etc.

President Brock Hoosayne Dawgeeter is a Nobel Peace Prize winner. He can say whatever he wants to because he’s an uber peaceful dude — albeit deeply misunderstood and purposely quoted out of context by partisan bigots relentlessly.

How many globally renowned recognitions has Mitt Romney ever been awarded? None. That’s how many. That means he must be an out-of-touch with America and the world racist.
