Harry Reid is a charmer

Harry Reid is a charmer

And you wonder why nothing gets done in the Senate and Republicans can’t even get votes on legislation or a budget?

Via The Hill:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has launched a blistering verbal assault against William Magwood, a Democratic member of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission nominated by President Obama, calling him a “liar,” a “first-class rat,” and a “s**t-stirrer.”

Reid, in an interview with The Huffington Post, also calls Magwood a “tool of the nuclear industry” and says he’s “unethical” and “incompetent.”

Reid’s comments underscore the raw political emotions that have engulfed the NRC over the past year and have long surrounded battles over Yucca Mountain, the proposed nuclear waste dump in Nevada that Reid strongly opposes.

In the interview, Reid alleged that Magwood lied by indicating in a private meeting with the majority leader he would back efforts to shut down the Yucca project.

“That man I will never, ever forget what a treacherous, miserable liar he is,” Reid said. He also took aim at Magwood’s accusations against former NRC Chairman Gregory Jaczko.

Woah, hold up! A politician calling someone else a liar?

…calling him a “liar,” a “first-class rat,” and a “s**t-stirrer.”

A…“tool of the nuclear industry” and says he’s “unethical” and “incompetent.”

“…I will never, ever forget what a treacherous, miserable liar he is.”

Two things, Harry…

1. project much…?

2. sounds perfectly qualified (if any of that were true) to step seamlessly into the Majority Leader shoes.

I hope all Democrats ask, “well, what idiot nominated this guy to the NRC?” (Obama)

Let’s not forget who it was that urged a young junior Senator to run against the heiress apparent to the Dem nomination back in 2006. Harry Reid calling anyone a “shit stirrer” is rich to say nothing of “liar,” and “first-class rat.”

Stay classy, Harry.

Mr. Reid prefers it when he has a NRC commissioner he can boss around, like his former aid Jaczko:
” The commission’s chairman, Gregory Jaczko, has also voted — twice. In his own letter to Mr. Inhofe, Mr. Jaczko disclosed that he first voted on the repository’s fate on Aug. 25, but withdrew his vote and submitted a new one on Oct. 29 — four days before the Nov. 2 election.”

Though, he must have liked him before he didn’t like him: Mr. Magwood was confirmed in the Mr. Reid’s 2010 Senate by “unanimous consent”.

Go spawn yourself, Harry.

Exposure to self-important liberal radiation can have a lethal effect on any culture.

I guess we can say this about Harry Reid’s battles with the NRC:

“The war is lost”.

If Harry Reid thinks this guy is bad, maybe I want to know him.

Probably not, that whole Democrat opposition to Keystone XL was due to their personal interests reaching heavily into the Enbridge alternative plan.

-they just want deals rigged at both ends, primarily for the benefit of their culture of corruption.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT TO ALL MORMON BASHERS

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE:

1. Dingy Harry is (theoretically) a Mormon in good standing, just like….MIT ROMNEY (who doesn’t use such bad language and does not support gay marriage).
2. Mormons are NOT SUPPOSED TO USE BAD LANGUAGE OR MAKE ACCUSATIONS, ETC. (There was this…SERMON…took place on a mountain…about 2000 or so years ago…overseas…gave us rules of conduct…even for our enemies!)
3. IF YOU’RE GOING TO SHARPEN YOUR KNIVES TO ATTACK GOV. ROMNEY’S FAITH, BETTER INCLUDE HARRY REID TOO!
4. Oh, and Harry, LEARN ABOUT AMERICA’S PAST, READ THE BOOK OF MORMON–and get in line with the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.

If the NRC wants to make this thing at Yucca Flats happen, cut ol’ Harry Reid in for about 20%, plus part of the souvenir concession, and he’ll be its number one proponent.

Won’t work. There have been literally *billions* of federal dollars spent on this barely-started hole in the ground, and good old Harry has been collecting from both the pro- and anti- storage people hand over fist. He makes *far* more money by not-building than he ever would make if the proposed facility ever got built.

I posted a link some time ago in the Tip Line about Obama admin giving NG power plants government subsidy and the damaging negative effects to the entire industry
Daily Caller finally had reported the story a couple days ago
07/28/2012
Record number of coal-fired generators to be shut down in 2012

The second part is that while the industry rushes to take advantage and make long term commitments because of those subsidies .. Nuclear Power plant profits are also being pinched.
These NG subsidies is also going to harm Nuclear Power.

As Obama says:
“When special interests put their thumb on the scale, and distort the free market, the people who compete by the rules come in last.”

And I’ll just bet in the long-term that necessarily means a skyrocket, uhm err ah first-class ratf*** for you and I.

dingy harry typifies the “CIVILITY” of the lunatic-left d-cRAT socialist extremists.

Imagine the nerve of promising one thing to get your foot in the door, then doing another once you are in. I’d be angry too, Harry.

Transparency
Unemployment 6% or less
Cut defict in half first term
End all earmarks
No new taxes to anyone making $250k or less
Close Gitmo
End DC politics as usual
Civility in political discourse
If you like your health care plan….
If you like your doctor….
No lobbyists in the WH
Bills online 5 days before signing
Obamacare debates to be televised on C-SPAN
Tax credits for companies adding jobs
Penalty-free hardship withdrawals

Harry Reid is simply a foul little man.

Actually, Yucca Flats is a horrible place for nuclear waste. Riddled with limestone, and caves and what not. Not very stable. Remember ELF? Extra-Long Frequency radio? Used during the cold war to communicate with underwater submarines. They built that antenna in Wisconsin on this really huge chunk of granite. That’s the place for nuclear waste. Or build a breeder reactor. But James Earl Carter stopped that one.

Neo in reply to Milwaukee. | July 31, 2012 at 1:09 am

    ELF is Extremely low frequency.

My father once worked on a slightly higher frequency version at one of those infamous “undisclosed locations.” When they tested it in the Fall, they would often make the fallen leaves catch fire.

If Harry is saying that…this must be a great guy!! Remember what he called Tea Party patriots…extremists, terrorists, evil mongers, aren’t real Americans, bunch of garbage, radicals, American Nazi movement, ect….

The TeaParty people I know are true American patriots, that are worried about the direction this country is heading, and want fiscal responsibility of the government.

Poor Harry. Yucca Mountain is for nuclear waste not Harry’s plan for condos.

I think that I can quote a line that I used in a comment just posted with regards to the Romney’s remarks in Israel.

“Often the disenfranchised can find the villain simply by looking in the mirror…”

Harry???? Check it out!!

“That man I will never, ever forget what a treacherous, miserable liar he is,” Reid said.

Stop looking in the mirror, Harry.

The Honorable William D. Magwood, IV was sworn in as a Commissioner of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) on April 1, 2010, to an initial term ending on June 30, 2010, and a reappointment term ending June 30, 2015.

Mr. Magwood has a distinguished career in the nuclear field and in public service. He was the longest-serving head of the United States’ civilian nuclear technology program, serving two Presidents and five Secretaries of Energy from 1998 until 2005.

… and Magwood is an African-American, which makes Harry Reid a .. wait for it .. R..ist
