While studiously avoiding and evading any investigation of Barack Obama’s “youth” (i.e. the period prior to his running for President) or devoting resources to any of the many scandals (selling guns to Mexican drug lords, politicizing along racial lines the Justice Department, etc.) which would have been front page day after day in another administration, WaPo devoted months and resources to investigating what Mitt Romney did in high school.
But WaPo is acting like an amateur. This should have dropped the day before the Republican National Convention or a major debate; or worst case, four days before the election.
To drop the “Romney was mean in high school” story now shows that WaPo has lost a little of its touch.
Speaking of amateurs, Bill Clinton thinks Obama is one:

But according to the book, Bill Clinton unloaded on Obama and pressed Hillary to run against her boss during a gathering in the ex-president’s home office in Chappaqua last August that included longtime friends, Klein said.
“The economy’s a mess, it’s dead flat. America has lost its Triple-A rating . . . You know better than Obama does,” Bill said.
I disagree. Obama’s no amateur. He plays the “crisis” thing like it’s the last fiddle left on earth.
It’s worked so far. Even if not a single additional law is passed, Obama has the authority via Obamacare and Dodd-Frank to do pretty much whatever he wants to almost every aspect of your life via regulation and Executive Order if he gets reelected.

The planned re-election of Obama, revolutionary style
The Obama administration, including his czars and along with his closets Progressive supporters, are planning a manufactured insurgency against America. He is using the media to his advantage to garner both sympathy and support for his unfinished goals. He is desperately seeking a way to remain in office, even if it means the surreal prospect of an indefinite postponement of elections – if it can be pulled off. So far, he’s got the support of the majority of the DHS “brass” behind him, according to my source.

I think WJC meant Obama is an amateur not only at governance but also at politics. He beat Hillary in 2008 on the strength of his appeal as the first Black President and beat McCain because of the financial crisis. His current reelection campaign is a mess and would be regarded widely as such if not for the MSM covering for Obama in all things. He is almost laughably vulnerable. However, it is less clear that he would have been vulnerable to a primary challenge. In a Democratic primary, a challenger needs to get to the left — as Teddy did with Carter in 1980, although even then unsuccessfully. Tough job getting to Obama’s left.

The Washington Post hasn’t lost its touch; it’s the media attack coordinator in the White House – no, not the President; one of his flunkies – who has lost their’s … if, that is, they ever had one. When more than one media outlet starts barking, it’s because someone stirred up the dogs. On that subject – incompetence – the Romney answer to the “I know what you did last summer!” sort of “gotcha” news is simply this: “When did this supposedly happen?” “Fifty years ago?” “How about you guys and gals start getting after more recent stuff, like what Obama was doing in college and law school and in the Illinois State Senate??” “Is that the best you can do? Pikers!” and change the subject, ignoring the ‘what-is-it?’ thereafter. How to do it? Just ask yourself, “What would Harry Truman’s answer have been?” and give them that. All the campaigning season is going to be filled with these sorts of distractions, just as Ms. Warren’s patently false claim of being a Native American. You have to ask, first, “Who cares?” If the answer is “No one”, then leave it alone and when asked, your answer is, “Who cares?” and move on to your message. Otherwise, you are just playing on the Democrats’ home field and letting them set the tempo and keep the initiative.
