The other parents

The other parents

I advocated yesterday for letting the facts come out in the shooting of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman.  And that’s still my position.

The case began to get attention when the Martins had to file a civil suit for release of the 911 tapes.  I don’t blame the Martin parents for seeking justice for their dead son.

But there is another set of parents who don’t want to see their son sacrificed for political purposes if in fact he didn’t commit a crime:

Zimmerman’s father, a retired magistrate judge, fought back against those allegations in a recent letter to the Orlando Sentinel.

“The portrayal of George Zimmerman in the media, as well as the series of events that led to the tragic shooting, are false and extremely misleading,” Robert Zimmerman wrote. “Unfortunately, some individuals and organizations have used this tragedy to further their own causes and agendas. George is a Spanish-speaking minority with many black family members and friends. He would be the last to discriminate for any reason whatsoever.”

In an interview Friday, Zimmerman’s lawyer, Craig Sonner, told CNN that Zimmerman had recently mentored a black boy, taking him out to play basketball and participating in fund-raisers at the boy’s church.

“This is a case about self-defense, that’s what the trial is going to be about,” Mr. Sonner said. “It’s not about being angry over a racial issue.”

This case is not going to be as simple as some are making it out to be.

I hope the new prosecutors on the case can take a dispassionate view of the evidence, and do not charge or not charge based on appeasing the loudest voices.

Update:  Per a local television story late yesterday, Zimmerman told police that Martin attacked him as Zimmerman attempted to return to his car, and a witness who saw Martin on top of Zimmerman punching him as well as physical evidence led police not to make an arrest.  Of course, we don’t know if this is true, so hold off judgment, it just goes to explain why the case may not be open and shut from a prosecution perspective.

The City of Sanford has the incident report and a lot of other original documentation on its website, as well as an informational statement.

I was watching this develop while I was travelling. All the media coverage has been about the ‘hoodie marches’ and racial aspects of the case. Almost no media coverage of what actually happened the night of the incident. But, he’s already been found guilty in the MSNBC court of public opinion.

They are notorious for exploiting this tactic. They know that they can influence the realization of their preferred reality through the manipulation of perception. It is especially effective when combined with appeals to emotion. If it happens before the situation has been fully characterized, then it will predispose an individual to a bias in favor of this manufactured reality, whether it is fact or fiction. If it happens over an extended period of time, then it can create a long-term prejudice, even to the extent where it favors action contrary to the individual’s welfare.

The thing about what you say, though, is that fewer and fewer whites, hispanics and Asians buy into the “Oh, poor me, I’m black and a victim of discrimination” meme. It’s just not working for them the way it used to.

George is a Spanish-speaking minority with many black family members and friends. He would be the last to discriminate for any reason whatsoever.

It does not matter. On Progressive Planet, Robert Byrd and Al Sharpton get a pass; Clarence Thomas and Condoleezza Rice get the vilest kinds of insults.

Power, by any means they can get away with.

Afterthought: The foregoing is does not take a position on George Zimmermann’s guilt or (presumed) innocence. I agree that not enough information is yet available to make that determination. If Martin’s parents had to go to court to get the 911 tapes, that does raise my eyebrows wrt the initial investigation by local police.

My aspersion is at the motives of many on the “indignant” national Left. I mean no disrespect to Martin’s family and I hope, without prejudging what it is, that justice is done.

SeanInLI in reply to gs. | March 24, 2012 at 7:09 pm

“If Martin’s parents had to go to court to get the 911 tapes, that does raise my eyebrows…”

Or you could keep your eyebrows where they should be by visiting the Sanford PD’s explanation of WHY they did not initially release the 911 tapes. If you have a problem with their very reasonable explanation, then lets hear your issues.

“I hope the new prosecutors on the case can take a dispassionate view of the evidence, and do not charge or not charge based on appeasing the loudest voices.”

And I hope your hope is not Pyrrhic, Prof.

With the Holder Racial Justice Department involved, I am very much afraid for the concept of “legal”…much less “justice”.

Zmmerman won’t get justice, not from the Obama-Holder justice department. If Zimmerman had been a black guy shooting a white kid, then yes. The media won’t discuss the facts cuz the facts don’t fit the race game that’s being played. CNS has already tried and found Zimmerman guilty–he’s had a run in with the law, has domestic violence issues, is a wannabe cop. Yet, nothing is known about the Trayvon kid. Who is he? What has he done? What was he doing just before he was shot? The media has declined to tell us.

Obama’s statement on the case is prejudicial. It doesn’t matter what Obama’s son would’ve looked like–his eldest is looking depressingly equine as she grows up. What matters is what the kid was doing that led to the outcome under investigation.

In defense of poor Melia, there is a reason kids at that stage of life are called “coltish”.

I have a picture, taken with a flag I won in an essay contest, where it is hard to distinguish the flag pole from the proud kid holding it.

      The Tempests – Look Away

      Play it loud!

Wasn’t talking about her height, which is lovely. Regrettably, she’s a combination of both parents in looks. Obama’s long face and Michelle’s features. No, I’m not attacking her, just saying what I see.

IT TOOK TWO YEARS FOR THE TRUTH TO COME OUT IN THE DUKE LACROSSE CASE, and the facts of the boys’ innocence ONLY came out due to:

1) Their parents’ financial ability to hire good lawyers

2) One of their lawyers’ deciding to post ALL discovery documents ONLINE (thus, empowering a cadre of interested citizens nationwide to know the facts of the case and proffer assistance in a variety of areas, and making the facts known to the media who were NOT interested in debunking the meme.

3) One young attorney who had taught himself about DNA evidence and who was serendipitiously able to interpret the findings of the DNA lab during a pre-trial hearing- the final nail in the coffin of Mike Nifong’s blatant abuse of the legal system to achieve his re-election bid.

4) The use of the internet to mobilize interested citizens(Liestoppers) who were willing to write letters and emails to local Durham newspapers, confront biased journalists, and publish information that the media did not care to have see the light of day.

below are a couple of more recent pictures of Trayvon….. I suspect what will happen is that the feds having a weak case for any sort of homicide charge will go to default position and charge Zimmerman with a violation of this kids civil rights but one way or another they will get him

WOW … if that report is at all true, it seems the media will have to admit they got everything wrong.

But maybe they’ve concluded the news cycle histrionics (based on their propaganda) has more impact than delayed facts? Eventually “they” should lose ALL credibility, but it’s a very slow process. Pravda is less influential now I hear.

    Gotcha.

    OOoookay-

Journalism isn’t what it used to be. I can handle that. No problem.

Why doesn’t the “fair and balanced” media show pictures of Martin with his gangsta dress (pants pulled down to expose his underwear) and one hand giving a gangsta sign and the other one flipping the bird?

Oh, that’s right; it would destroy the image of a young man who was just wandering around at night in a neighborhood where he didn’t live and where there is NO 7-11 for him to purchase Skiddles as his father contended.

Also the photo shows a young man who is obviously in great physical condition, not some Fat Albert type.

Midwest Rhino in reply to Aggie95. | March 24, 2012 at 5:07 pm

those new pictures of Trayvon should make FOX with the question for Obama …

“Is this what Obama’s son would look like?”

Or maybe an illustration of Trayvon on top of the Spanish speaking Zimmerman, beating him.

“Is this what Obama’s son would look like?”

Maybe Obama’s race based rush to judgment against the Hispanic man will hurt him at the polls? Nice that the Holder friendly Black Panthers now have a bounty on Zimmerman’s capture, after seeking the mobilization of 10,000 black men to capture him.

No word on Media Matters involvement, but maybe they have learned to be more subtle.

    JackRussellTerrierist in reply to Aggie95. | March 25, 2012 at 4:11 pm

Is there a federal provision for a private citizen being charged with violation of another individual’s civil rights?

I really fear for the Zimmerman family because this has already been tried in the court of public opinion.

I would actually like to see pictures of the suspect after he was beaten up. That should help a great deal in this case, but I’m not holding my breath waiting on that to happen.

As usual, I believe Sharpton and Jackson have made fools of themselves. Dividing this country racially is right out of the 60’s and its something that Obama and Company knows very well how to do.

Sharpton and Jackson are trying mighty hard to make this a black vs white thing. The fact Zimmerman was not the “typical white guy” Sharpton/Jackson allude to is ignored. Farrakan wants there to be more violence and is doing his damnedest to promote it. I doubt Obama, now that he’s stepped in to the ring, will tell the agitators to cool it. Just isn’t in him to do so … even it might do more for his re-election than anything lately. He’s a man blind to the obvious, like Keystone XL … this will be no different.

None of this makes any sense.

Sharpton: Book me a flight to Florida and call out the troops.

Aide: But, Rev. Sharpton, don’t you want to know the facts of the case before you go?

      Sharpton: Hell, no, it’s payday.

if you think this is bad wait until Obama is not re-elected. It’s unfortunate that the first black president couldn’t have been someone like Col. Allen West who loves this country and would have done us all proud.

JackRussellTerrierist in reply to wodiej. | March 25, 2012 at 4:24 pm

So, so, so true. Now THAT would have helped race relations in this country. But blacks are so indoctrinated in the ‘rat plantation “gimme more” mentality, they could never get behind Col. West. And the inability of black culture to get behind a man like West is exactly, in a nutshell, the reason why integration is ultimately a failure. Self-identifying members of the black culture don’t want to integrate, assimilate and excel. They want their asses kissed and every need met while not lifting a finger to produce. It is a parasitical culture and its members cannot co-exist in an environment of expected independence and self-reliance.

Wonder if #10 is photoshopped or something?

I find #18 funny – looks like her hoodie has a 4-pronged propeller on it (like a beanie) – then I noticed that it’s a ceiling fan right above her.

At times like, this I think that we as a society are “so screwed” – look at how many people will now spend the rest of their lives thinking that some black kid got killed just because he was wearing a hoodie, without any knowledge about the circumstance leading up to the death. The only “meme” will be that somewhere some black kid got killed just for wearing a hoodie.

lol@ photo #10. I’m a Detroit native, though gone since 1979, but home is home and Michigan (if not Detroit) is well held in my heart. However, given the liberal entrenchment there, had I stayed I would almost certainly be in prison.

turfmann in reply to Browndog. | March 24, 2012 at 4:56 pm

    But are you surprised?

As alluded to by others above, the media is often very, very wrong in its initial assessment of a situation.

I recall that on the morning of 9/11 a Today show host saying that a Cessna had flown into the side of the World Trade Center while simultaneously showing the outline of the jet that nearly eclipsed the entire side of the building. Ten Cessnas flying in perfect formation couldn’t have created a hole that large.

That is just an aspect of the fallibility of human beings.

What the press does in circumstances like this is to take something that occurred, it does not matter if the facts corroborate the story, and whip it into a political firestorm.

Doubtless the actual facts of the case are in direct opposition to what is being alleged – call me cynical but when was the last time that it was otherwise?

Duke Lacrosse? Skip Gates? Name your own favorite.

And to see Jennifer Granholm adding her outrage to the cacophony of noise is just perfect.

When the facts come out and she is shown to be in error, will she apologize to the Zimmermanns?

You already know the answer to that.

RosalindJ in reply to Browndog. | March 24, 2012 at 5:12 pm

I won’t spoil the surprise, but it’s typical XXX XXXX, jumping on the white liberal guilt bandwagon.

#16: “”Does my color scare you, or is it just my hoodie?” – Le’Shawn Tomlinson, 21, St. Petersburg, Fla.”..no, it’s your general mien that I find alarming.

#18 – heartfelt sentiment, but an optic fail.

Juba Doobai! in reply to RosalindJ. | March 24, 2012 at 11:46 pm

That attitude, that behavior, that potty mouth, that willingness to be violent, that refusal to see anything through any prism other than color, that disdain for learning, that willingness to blame others for refusal to do, that hate for the Other, that reckless disregard for life in our own community, these are all part of the things I, a black woman, finds alarming, disheartening, discouraging, and dismaying.

From what I’ve heard, the larger racial component is how the case was handled by the investigating officers, rather than the racial motivations of Zimmerman, although that certainly factors in. The complaints I’ve come across are largely “if this had been a white child, would standard procedures such as drug testing Zimmerman and properly retaining evidence have been followed?” We certainly shouldn’t cast judgment on Zimmerman before all the evidence comes to light, but from my perspective, the police absolutely mishandled the case, and it’s a fair question to wonder if the same mishandling would have happened if the Martin had been white.

    Ragspierre in reply to Awing1. | March 24, 2012 at 1:23 pm

“…standard procedures such as drug testing Zimmerman…”

Please don’t take this as an attack, but…

I’d like your support for the notion that—

    1. drug testing someone not under arrest, and without probable cause, is standard procedure; and

    2. evidence was mishandled

I am not, BTW, a knee-jerk supporter of police. I am, after all, a trial attorney. I have seen a really disheartening catalog of police misconduct, including perjury.

      Awing1 in reply to Ragspierre. | March 24, 2012 at 1:35 pm

I would agree with both of those, however I believe the pure fact that you shot someone creates probable cause for a drug test, and Zimmerman was initially under arrest from what I understand.

        Ragspierre in reply to Awing1. | March 24, 2012 at 1:51 pm

I don’t see how a shooting justifies any supposition of drug use.

Even when you are under arrest, you still have some due process rights that have to be observed. (And I frankly do not know if there was an arrest.)

    Aridog in reply to Awing1. | March 24, 2012 at 1:30 pm

While I am of the not rush to judgment group, I can’t help but wonder what the deal would be if both Martin and Zimmerman were black? It’s an integrated neighborhood, and my guess is that nothing would have made national news if both were black. Damn sure Jackson and Sharpton wouldn’t be down there hawking their race war.

      Awing1 in reply to Aridog. | March 24, 2012 at 1:41 pm

That’s probably all true. Jackson and Sharpton go only where they think it will benefit their own popularity. They certainly weren’t up in my home town of Rochester when it was a black man that killed a white kid on a claim of self defense and got off, and he didn’t have any wounds at all.

Juba Doobai! in reply to Aridog. | March 24, 2012 at 11:57 pm

You wouldn’t hear about it. Obama and all the rest would be silent. They are always silent when young black men kill other blacks. Their outrage is only when a mixed race or non-black person kills a black person. If a black guy kills a white, well, that is just justice; it’s payback, and aback is a bitch, so suck it up. That’s know they roll.

Sad case all the way around. And sadder still when Jackson arrives on the scene with some nonsense that “Blacks are Under Attack”
He needs to explain these findings as well:

http://bjs.ojp.usdoj.gov/content/homicide/race.cfm

Maybe his time is better spent exploring this sad statistic

From 1976 to 2005 —

86% of white victims were killed by whites
94% of black victims were killed by blacks

LukeHandCool in reply to jimzinsocal. | March 24, 2012 at 1:57 pm

That’s what I posted about yesterday. If you look at all violent black/white interracial crimes, the overwhelming majority, about 90%, are black-on-white violent crimes.

So Jesse Jackson would be much more accurate saying “Whites are under attack.” Of course, such a statement is silly because it implies coordinated, orchestrated attacks.

Juba Doobai! in reply to jimzinsocal. | March 25, 2012 at 12:06 am

    The statistics don’t matter.

“blacks are under attack” means that Americans are rejecting the Great Black Hope, and if you don’t give him a second term it means you’re racist, you hate black people, and you want all black people to die cuz you don’t understand that the entire community self-identifies with the GBH, to reject him is to reject us, and that means you’re attacking us.

So, it’s not about Trayvon Martin. It’s about Obama. It’s about agenda. Trayvon is just the latest vessel for the Obama agenda

What really intrigues me in this whole sad affair is the mostly behind the scenes fund raising aspects of it now underway by certain groups.

In fact, one leader of The New Black Panthers Party has already indicated that, by the end of next week, he expects to garner more than a cool million dollars, mostly from wealthy donors such as black entertainers and athletes.

For those who haven’t be following the press reports closely, they’re the group that’s promised to “hunt down” Mr. Zimmerman, who has gone into seclusion on the advice of his attorney. Also, IIRC, the NBBP is the group that published a “$10,000 – Dead or Alive” wanted poster concerning the apprehension of Mr. Zimmerman.

http://tinyurl.com/7zd6l45

All too obviously, certain of our societal elements aren’t prepared to let this serious crisis “go to waste” — most certainly not when there’s another buck to be made or a new vote to be picked up in the bargain.

Ragspierre in reply to Samuel Keck. | March 24, 2012 at 3:26 pm

Hey, there’s a market for race hate.

When will it be OK to call this a “high-tech lynching” of Zimmerman WRT the interests fanning the flames?

I gotta say that I’m suspicious of what an overweight cop-wannabe (not-gonnabe) was doing getting anywhere near the kid. It sounds a bit yahoo. As long-time neighborhood watcher, “chief”, I don’t buy that he had to exit his truck to see what street he was on.

Did he put on a nasty or threatening tone when he approached the kid? Did he grab him and then get shoved to the ground? That would be self-defense by the kid. That the police weren’t flipped out that a juvenile had just been shot to death and didn’t start combing the neighborhood trying to find out who the kid was, didn’t at least arrest the shooter on suspicion, well, that bothers me. Cops in Florida arrest for all kinds of petty things. It also kind of bothers me that the kid’s father apparently wasn’t trying to reach him on his cell phone, apparently wasn’t calling police and out looking for him until the next morning when all that he ostensibly was doing was going out to the 7-11 and supposedly coming back to hang out with his family.

None of this means that the shooter was racist, of course. But the cops may well have had a wrong attitude. I haven’t lived in that area of Florida in 30 or so years, but when I did, it was pretty racist and antisemitic.

I’m dismayed that what’s coming under attack here is the stand-your-ground law. It should not apply in this situation. How would YOU react if you were taking an evening walk and some guy in a truck kept creeping along following you?

What’s not behind the scenes is the media effort to trash Newt Gingrich over this.

Here are his original comments, for which video is available.
http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=7403026n

Notice that he is the voice of sweet reason.

Later, he comments on Barack Obama’s racially charged, prejudicial remarks

http://dailycaller.com/2012/03/24/gingrich-lashes-out-at-obama-for-disgraceful-trayvon-martin-comments/

but, there’s no video — and other media stories are trying to make Newt out to be the bad guy. One has to wonder why the video isn’t available. Could it be that, once again, Newt was sounding like the voice of the adult in the room?

^^agree Samuel. Get the young black vote via any mobilization available…to the point of the President basically making the issue about himself”my son would look like Trayvon”
Always be wary when someone reflexivly turns any issue into an “I” statement..its a giveaway that a runaway ego is asserting itself. Particularly when its not needed.
I dont recall anyone asking The President how this issue affects him personally.
Sure your son would look like this kid Mr President. I can just see your son cruising down to the local 7-11 for Skittles with his hoodie.

The witness, known only as John, told Sanford police that he saw Martin on top of George Zimmerman shortly before the fatal shot that has led to a national outcry, including a huge ‘hoodie’ march in Philadelphia last night.
He recounted the details to Fox 35 News in Florida.
The witness told FOX 35 in Orlando that he saw evidence of a fight between Martin and Zimmerman, which could lend credence to the gunman’s claim that he was acting in self-defence.
‘The guy on the bottom who had a red sweater on was yelling to me: “Help, help… and I told him to stop and I was calling 911,’ he said.
Zimmerman was wearing a red sweater; Martin was in a grey hoodie.
He added: ‘When I got upstairs and looked down, the guy who was on top beating up the other guy, was the one laying in the grass, and I believe he was dead at that point.’

Here’s what I’m told is are parts of the FL statute. I’m also told that the statute provides that you have to stop immediately if the antagonist stops (so you couldn’t chase if the antagonist runs away).

“However, a person is justified in the use of deadly force and does not have a duty to retreat if:

(1) He or she reasonably believes that such force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another or to prevent the imminent commission of a forcible felony”…..

The justification [allowing for the use of deadly force] described in the preceding sections of this chapter is not available to a person who..Initially provokes the use of force against himself or herself, unless:
(a) Such force is so great that the person reasonably believes that he or she is in imminent danger of death or great bodily harm and that he or she has exhausted every reasonable means to escape such danger other than the use of force which is likely to cause death or great bodily harm to the assailant; or
(b) In good faith, the person withdraws from physical contact with the assailant and indicates clearly to the assailant that he or she desires to withdraw and terminate the use of force, but the assailant continues or resumes the use of force.

Three issues that I see: (i) punching someone does not allow for the use of a gun in return; (ii) there’s evidence that suggests Zimmerman was pursuing the victim; and (iii) there’s some question as to whether Zimmerman may have started the incident.

In any of the three situations–If it was just a punch or a series of hits, if Zimmerman was running after the victim or if Zimmerman started the incident–it doesn’t look like Zimmerman was permitted to use a gun under the Florida statute.

“Three issues that I see: (i) punching someone does not allow for the use of a gun in return;”
If a man is on top of you pummeling you, as the witnesses say Martin was doing, Zimmerman may very well have feared for his life. And the cops came to that conclusion.

“(ii) there’s evidence that suggests Zimmerman was pursuing the victim; and”
Just as Martin had every right to walk the streets, so did Martin. There’s no law against following someone, especially someone who looks suspicious

“(iii) there’s some question as to whether Zimmerman may have started the incident.”
Evidence please. I know you ‘progressives’ aren’t worried about that kind of thing, but reasonable people would like to see you prove your assertion.

Any more BS you have left to peddle?

So, I was under the impression that this incident just happened recently-

Trayvon Martin, 17, was killed February 26

So how and why did this story explode in the media in just the last 3 or 4 days?

This stinks of White House/Media Matters/Journolist.

I tried to do an archive search on Memeorandum to see when it was first posted, but I can’t seem to format the search correctly-

The origins of planted media bombardment of this story must be found-

Maybe I’m way off base, or maybe someone should tip off the Professor-

yeah, the timing seems to be orchestrated … old story, suddenly there is feigned outrage everywhere, but facts are still suppressed. They got their mileage from Rush and the “War on Women”, now they redirect to “white on black” violence, and cops (supposedly) acting stupidly or worse. Stay tuned for the next episode of Obama personally comforting another victim in response to a fabricated outrage.

As apparent as this is to those that read political blogs, the other 99% probably think the fake parts of the story are true, and tune in for more drama.

Evidently the propaganda machine are showing Martin at a younger age, 13-14, with a wide-eyed innocent look, rather than his current 6’3″ football player physique. They are also ignoring the 11 burglaries that had happened earlier in the gated neighborhood.

Treyvon Martin was killed Feb 26, this occurred on March 4 –
“Teens set kid on fire for being ‘white boy’
    MEENA HART DUERSON
    Sunday, March 04, 2012
A 13-year-old boy who police say was doused with gasoline and lit on fire last week while walking home from school is recovering from first-degree burns to his face and head.
The boy was just two blocks from his home in Kansas City Tuesday when two teenagers began to follow him and then attacked him, his mother, Melissa Coon, said.
Police have described the suspects as black 16-year-olds, while the victim is white.
“We were told it’s a hate crime,” Coon told KTLA.”

No comment from Obama, Farrakhan, Sharpton, Jackson and company.

Why? Because the victim did not look like one of their children.

Newt is right. This is about American children being killed.

Stop with the hyphens, fanning division and racism.

The other day, The Washington Post ran a piece explaining why Mr. Zimmerman was not arrested while he was being detained by the Sanford police during the preliminary investigation regarding Mr. Martin’s death.

At Twitchy, “Spike Lee retweets George Zimmerman’s address.”

And the now-deleted tweet from @Simply_Reiona:

“Ima get a group of niggas to KILL George Zimmerman ( the fat ass racist ass white man who killed Trayvon Martin ) ! He deserves to DIE !!!!— Couldnt Care Less (@Simply_Reiona) March 24, 2012”

This is past getting ugly…

Soon, I expect the puppet masters to start the “assault on democracy” meme..

Knowing full well that democracy means (lynch)mob rule:

Followed by a “protest” at the police station by the super-smart educated class (otherwise known as liberals) with chants of “This is what democracy looks like!”

“This is what democracy looks like!”

That’s why the Founders did their darnedest to avoid it, as much as possible, while writing the Constitution.

    Yep.

For those who don’t think it is getting ugly and fast, I have two words for you: Yankel Rosenbaum. Google him – and weep.

I think this could be Obama’s Crown Heights riots: it can get very out of control, very quickly.

Bad Luck Barry put himself in this, well and truly.

He’d best get to a mic and pour water on this, or he’s really going to own some bad stuff.

Same for the Rev.s Jackson, Sharpton, Farrakhan, etc.

Uncle Samuel in reply to Ragspierre. | March 24, 2012 at 5:44 pm

The Sheriff has already stepped down temporarily because of threats and has turned the case over to two officers with Masters Degrees in criminology.

From what I’ve read elsewhere, http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/03/22/2708960_p2/trayvon-martin-a-typical-teen.html, the boy sounds like he was raised right. He had issues but perhaps not those of violence.

What is unknown is how he came to be on top of Zimmerman punching him. All we have is one side of the story, and that is Zimmerman’s. The other side, the guy is dead. If he was bopping home with candy and an iced tea and was 90 feet away from the back door of the house he was staying in, what happened to bring him into conflict with Zimmerman? What was the boy doing? What was Zimmerman doing? At this point, nobody knows because the media, the president, and the race hucksters are not ingested in facts. Emotions will get the people ginned up, will serve Obama’s electoral agenda, and will result in the deaths of many people who have nothing to do with the case. Long before it comes to court, if there is ever need for that, George Zimmerman might be dead because someone out a bounty on his head, someone will kill him, someone will collect the boum, and the Obama-Holder justice department will do nothing.

The thug in the WH is ensuring we are no longer a nation of laws but rule by whatever goes.

I’d appreciate if someone more knowledgeable about the law than me would address the “dead or alive” $10,000 notice/reward by the NBPP. Is it legal to do this against a person who has not been charged with or convicted of any crimes. If I pass out posters offering a reward for the detention of another individual is that not offering money for a crime against them?
