Really bad day for right-wing eliminationist narratives

Really bad day for right-wing eliminationist narratives

This has been a really bad day for eliminationist narratives of a rising right-wing terror.

First, it turns out that George Zimmerman, rather than being a product of Republican / Tea Party / right-wing talk radio, was a registered Democrat.

Now, a federal judge has dismissed all the most serious charges against a Michigan “militia” group (h/t Samuel Kleck in the Tip Line):

A federal judge dismissed the most serious charges Tuesday against seven  members of a Michigan militia who were rounded up as homegrown extremists  accused of plotting war against the U.S., saying their expressed hatred of law  enforcement didn’t amount to conspiracy against the government.

The decision is an embarrassment for the government, which secretly planted  an informant and an FBI agent inside the Hutaree militia four years ago and  claimed members were armed for war in rural southern Michigan.

U.S. District Judge Victoria Roberts granted requests for acquittal on the  most serious charges: conspiring to commit sedition, or rebellion, against the  U.S. and conspiring to use weapons of mass destruction. Other weapons crimes  tied to the alleged conspiracies also were dismissed.

The court found that the defendants words did not amount to a conspiracy to commit violence or overthrow the government.  Only a few weapons charges remain.

The NY Times at the time of the arrests had quoted a variety of the usual suspects turning the arrests into some larger right-wing trend:

Chip Berlet, a senior analyst at Political Research Associates, a liberal-leaning nonprofit group that tracks far-right networks, said the Hutaree’s philosophy was drawn from a populist strand that fuses fear of a conspiracy to create a one-world government with a belief that a war is imminent between Christians and the Antichrist, as described in the Bible’s Book of Revelation.

In April 2009, the Department of Homeland Security produced a report warning of a rising threat of right-wing terrorism, citing factors like economic troubles, the election of a black president and perceived threats to United States sovereignty.

Mark Potok, who leads a program that tracks right-wing groups for the Southern Poverty Law Center, said it first took note of the Hutaree last year amid a surge in new “Patriot” movement groups, race-based hate groups, extremist anti-immigrant groups, Christian militants and other variations.

“We’re seeing all kinds of radical right-wing groups grow very rapidly, especially in the militia world,” Mr. Potok said.

Turns out much of the ballyhoo was hooey.

Once again.

Seems that they’re having troubles setting the narrative for November.

The reference to militias reminded me of this should-be classic video:

Woman: The Second Amendment only applies to militias
Man: So, you think all gun owners should be required to join militias?

U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade declined to comment.
Bad day for Obama appointee al-McQueda, former Ann Arbor Michigan DNC organizer.

3:05 Pacific time, so 6:05 Eastern right now … did I miss the Professor on the radio?

1. According to Wikipedia, Judge Victoria Roberts, who dismissed the most serious Hutaree charges, is a Clinton appointee.

Brava. If not for people whose first question is ‘What’s right or wrong, true or false, the law and the facts here?’ instead of ‘Which side here is mine?’, we’d be in even worse shape than we are.

2. According to the Hutaree link, Michael Meeks, all of whose charges were dismissed, was held for two years without bond. Something seems very wrong about that even though any solution that comes to my mind has its own problems.

Photo of George Zimmerman…one that is not a mug shot, puts a whole new perspective on who he is.

Personally, I find it interesting that AG Holder chose to prosecute those folks for discussions they held among themselves that never rose to the level of an illegal conspiracy but, thus far, he has displayed absolutely no interest in the fact that another well-known, irregular militia group recently has publicly and repeatedly offered a $1 million reward for the apprehension of another American citizen.

I was under the impression that vigilantism was outlawed in this nation quite some time ago … but that’s just me.

The false narrative for the Hutaree Militia was that they were right-wing extremists, teabaggers and radical Christian fundamentalists wanting to take down the Federal Government.

I read some of their online screed when the case first arose, their primary beef was against loss of US sovereignty to UN Blue Skulls, and their belief the US government was selling us out.
UN Agenda 21 is very real in Detroit.
Law Of Sea Treaty (LOST)
UN Convention on the Rights of the Child
Obama admin reports to UN on human rights issues in U.S.
NAACP to challenge state voting laws before U.N

I’m sure there’s more, you make the call if Hutaree were as crazy as they sound…

And don’t forget there is the Michigan Militia who do primarily the same things, while the leader of the Michigan Militia is a Muslim, escaped any scrutiny by the FBI and was in fact portrayed as an asset to the community.

She is sure to be nominated for the Al Sharpton medal or at the very least, the Nobel Peace Prize.

They have finally managed to work the boyz up to the point of looting/pillaging a Walgreens in FL –

The Hutarees were also all Democrats, by the way.

Oh, SAAAAAAANNNnnnnnnp…!!!

NASTY, VICIOUS, AND INEPT: Paper: Spike Lee tweeted incorrect George Zimmerman address, possibly putting Sanford woman in danger. “Picket also said several news agencies have showed up at the address looking for Zimmerman, which – with the crowds the Panthers, MSNBC’s Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have whipped up into a frenzy – may have put the woman, Elaine, in danger.”

Will Spike Lee make a public apology? I think he’s at risk for a lawsuit. And why is Al Sharpton still working at MSNBC if he’s whipping crowds into a violent frenzy?

THAT lawsuit would leave a mark…

not only is Sharpton still working at MSNBC, they’re letting him report on… himself!

LukeHandCool in reply to Henry Hawkins. | March 27, 2012 at 7:53 pm

I truly believe Sharpton is one of the most dangerous people in this country.

Not even in the same league with Barackah. Nowhere close. Not to say “harmless”, but at the end of the day, all he has is the power to persuade.

Hell, Nanny Pelosi is orders of magnitude more dangerous…still.

Except to Holder’s people, Dumb-ton is pretty much a cariacature of a buffoon, which is a hard thing to manage even in a Warner Bros. cartoon, from whence he sprang.

        I did say, “one of.”

I’m not talking about the danger of steering this country in the wrong direction, I’m talking about instigating violence in the streets.

THAT is the funniest thing I’ve read all week!!!!!!!

    What a Fluking moron.

Oh, I’d love to read the apology letter from Lee’s lawyers to this woman. I pray she hires counsel faster than you can say, “Trademark my kid!”

“Turns out much of the ballyhoo was hooey.”

If the professor keeps using terms like ‘ballyhoo’ and ‘hooey’ we’re gonna have to start calling him Colonel Potter.

This has nothing to do with the Antichrist. It has everything to do with individuals who suffer from delusions of grandeur, others who do not respect individual dignity, others yet who are vulnerable, and finally those individuals who fear life, fear death, and choose to run amuck. These are the leaders, followers, and supporters of left-wing ideology which denigrates individual dignity and devalues human life. The ideology which exists in stark opposition to an objective reality, other than in a perverse embrace of the natural order. There is a reason why they promise fulfillment of dreams of physical, material, and ego instant gratification through redistributive and retributive change, but also through fraudulent and opportunistic exploitation. They are appealing to the basest human fears and desires and for many that is sufficient to defer both their judgment and dignity to these alphas or mortal gods. Either Berlet is incompetent or harbors undisclosed ulterior motives. No one can be so genuinely stupid that even a cursor review of history and an impartial review of the present would not reveal the same damn patterns that preceded the cycles of destruction that pervade human history.

So, DHS admits that Zimmerman is as White as Obama is Black. Zimmerman is White and Obama is Black. Zimmerman is Hispanic and Obama is White. Oh, never mind. The fools who classify human beings by their incidental features, irrespective of their character, deserve no respect. It’s even worse when they, for the first time in American history, establish institutional discrimination based on these insignificant qualities.

SPLC is a business which exploits prejudice for profit. When that prejudice is lacking they manufacture it in time for their periodic revenue reclamation cycles. What an utterly pathetic group, staffed by utterly pathetic individuals who are wholly lacking in dignity and integrity. The remind me of JournoLists, or “scientists” who advance a “consensus” before physical evidence and argument.

These people’s lust for power, wealth, and stature, and fear of their fellow human beings is contemptible.

As for right-wing, and American conservatism specifically, I don’t think it means what they think it means. They need to reject their selective recall of history and breath the air outside of their ivory towers. Their selective memory and indignation is unbecoming a self-described progressive people. The contemporary American left is not remotely representative of classical progressives or classical liberals. They are generational and corrupt.

I don’t think they really care what it means. It’s enough that it is different from what they want and stands as an obstruction to their power/money grab.

As for “liberal”, the left hijacked that term for themselves as a soft cover for their true agenda decades ago. I cringed and railed at people for years to stop calling them liberals and call them what they are – leftists. Having finally been exposed over the last decade, the left has now taken the cloak of “progressive” to hide under so the dummies who know nothing of what Progressives were really about again allow the left to bask in a positive light because they think “Progressives” are caring, smiling people engaged in some sort of effort to enlighten us all through technology or “fresh” ideas or some happy BS like that.

I was born and lived in a nation governed by “progressive” principles. The original American Progressives contributed to the conversation, while their contemporaries represent the worst excesses of the nation I left behind and which is now defunct. It’s strange, but I still find it difficult to accept current events as they unfold. Whereas my birth nation has passed and another emerged which more closely represents a classical America, but now, America progressively resembles a now defunct nation.

I discovered today that a “Stand Your Ground” bill is gaining serious momentum in the Massachusetts Legislature – in spite of the current media maelstrom.

You read that correctly – in the People’s Republic of Massachusetts.

Hi, Professor. Just a quick note to let you know that there’s no “L” in “Keck.”

That said, you can probably get even money odds if you’d care to wager on just how much longer it will take to put Keck in “L”. 🙂

Maybe there’s still a glimmer of hope for the First Amendment.

The entire Leftist mantra is hooey.

It did not start here and won’t end, ever.

Defeat them. Crush them. But they’ll still pop up like zombies (and I’ve heard you have to kill the brain to kill a zombie – so, is there any hope?)

Oh yeah. The SPLC works on the premise “that a stopped clock is right twice a day.”
