“Tea Party” in Fromanize is spelled “t-e-r-r-o-r-i-s-t”

I have to assume she was playing along with the joke because even with selective editing it was patently obvious what they were doing. Then again maybe she has multiple personality syndrome and doesn’t know what the other Froma is doing.

At the very end — in the elevator about 6:10 — she basically admitted she was using absurdity to prove the absurd. Y’know, like Rush does, but better.

He said: Ludicrously overblown comments make you look stupid.

    She said: That’s my point.

I agree with @valleyforge. She had to know what was going on, at some level.

She can’t be that obtuse……can she?! 😉

It’s a Poe’s Law situation fer sure.

[THANKS for the Van Morrison vid!]

Ahahaha! 🙂 This was very heavily edited, but the point is unassailable.

I didn’t find it funny so much as clinically affirmative, albeit in a rather novel way.

Roger Rabbit claims that “A person without a sense of humor might as well be dead.” This woman definitely demonstrates a severe lack. I can’t believe she detected the irony. Leftist in general seem to have more humor problems. They will rip on the conservatives, and then claim it was all in good fun, or humor, or parody or satire when it was really mean-spirited insults disguised as humor.

One anecdote from my Malaysia days: The racist expression there that stuck in my memory was that “The Malays are lazy, the Indians are drunks and the Chinese are humorless.” Interesting that they would equate being humorless right up there with being lazy or being drunks. Not a pretty picture.

Too frequently Stewart is obscene or profane or both. Occasionally he nails some things, and this gets nailed.

Throw in a scene of lovers on the beach and you could call it, “Froma Harrop to Insanity.”

LI exclusive picture of the bumper sticker next to Froma’s “Coexist” sticker:

Whether she was playing along or not, that was brilliant.

She likely knew this was going to be a goof, but trusted the show’s extreme liberal bias. They heavily edit lengthy interviews out of sequence. The “Excuse me for a minute” leaves probably all were Oliver circling his chair.

Exactly. I’m sure she thought they’d add lots of footage of conservatives doing exactly what she did … that she wouldn’t be so much the focus … and she thought wrong.

Bingo!

I went to blog of Froma Harrop. She is, at least a good sport and links the video. She does not, however, make any attempt to justify her stupidity. She simply makes two comments:

“Some of you may know that I was interviewed for the Daily Show some time ago. It’s a comedy sketch, needless to say, and the joke will be on me. The interview will air tonight at 11 p.m, I’m braced”

and

“Sure, much of my careful reasoning ended up on the cutting-room floor, but it was fun:”

http://www.fromaharrop.com/

I for one, would like to hear her “careful reasoning”.

That she was in on the gag does not pass the smell test – at all.

She penned the piece labeling Tea Partier as terrorists, etc., etc. Allowed herself to be associated with some self-congratulatory organization that ostensibly advocates for civility in journalism (I’m sure the members of the UN Commission on Human Rights is blushing watching this video) and then hasn’t the self-awareness of the incongruity of her published works and her Chairmanship?

In a word, she was pwned.

I think this woman has some serious issues.

And that name! Did her parents not love her? It sounds more like a dire and morbid clinical diagnosis than a name – “examination of the patient’s gluteus maximus revealed a distended froma harrop”

She was probably too proud to walk out and thought she can somehow talk her way out of looking stupid. Why did she agree to an interview is another question.

Was she that stupid ….? ….beats me but liberals can be pretty stupid ….and with no handicap …..he was re elected starts at about 1:18

Living, as they do, in an ideological bubble isolated from direct confrontation, quasi-journalist activists like Harrop must rarely have to defend themselves. She may have just frozen up in the face of what must have been fairly obvious growing ridicule, believing that a Daily News bit would in some way exonerate her.

So I found this link: http://www.fromaharrop.com/?tag=tea-party which has her “reasoning” that Tea Partiers are “terrorists”, just like the ones in Somalia that gouge out our soldiers eyes and drag their bodies through the streets.

It seems that the Tea Partiers are “terrorists” because they feel, like Senator Obama, that rubber stamping debt ceiling raises are a failure of political leadership. Another deep thinking liberal.
