“credit for every successful achievement and every stroke of good fortune”

“credit for every successful achievement and every stroke of good fortune”

George Orwell, Animal Farm, Ch. 8:

“It had become usual to give Napoleon the credit for every successful achievement and every stroke of good fortune. You would often hear one hen remark to another, ‘Under the guidance of our Leader, Comrade Napoleon, I have laid five eggs in six days’; or two cows, enjoying a drink at the pool, would exclaim, ‘Thanks to the leadership of Comrade Napoleon, how excellent this water tastes!'”

In completely unrelated news, the Obama’s administration’s ineptitude in failing to negotiate an agreement with Iraq for a modest contingent of U.S. troops to remain, to help preserve hard-fought gains by protecting the intergrity of the country against the machinations of Iran, is being hailed as a great victory for Obama:

By declaring the Iraq war over, President Barack Obama scored what his allies see as a fourth big foreign policy success in six months …

Unknown to me until recently, but Napolean was given a teaching post at Harvard Law and is now running for the US Senate in Mass. (where else?),

“I hear all this, you know, ‘Well, this is class warfare, this is whatever. No. There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own — nobody.

“You built a factory out there? Good for you. But I want to be clear. You moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for. You hired workers the rest of us paid to educate. You were safe in your factory because of police-forces and fire-forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn’t have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory — and hire someone to protect against this — because of the work the rest of us did.

“Now look, you built a factory and it turned into something terrific, or a great idea. God bless — keep a big hunk of it. But part of the underlying social contract is, you take a hunk of that and pay forward for the next kid who comes along.”

Another such victory and we are undone.

In contrast to Obama, King Pyrrhus was candid.

And let’s not forget our American Churchill, the Warrior President who, confronted with the Islamist threat, decided to respond by overthrowing a secular dictator.

Not to mention the formerly Inevitable President who heads the State Department.

Mission Accomplished, you clowns.

How convenient for Obama that he can claim every positive incident while every negative outcome can be blamed on GWB.

So much of the admin seems right out of animal farm. Btw, who has @legalinsurrection on twitter? Oughta get on that…

And Obama has made flawless decisions on the economy which have made private sector job creation of no importance because its only public sector jobs that are threatened now.
