The root of the conflict is not that Israel currently controls the West Bank. The root of the conflict is that the Palestinians and their allies are still unwilling to accept that Israel exists at all. There can be no peace, and must not be any “permanent” peace agreement, until that changes.

Whatever happened to the good ole days when if two countries had a conflict over territory, they went to war, and whoever had the stronger military beat the crap out of the other guys and then it was all over?
I don’t get all of this nonsense over negotiating with an entity that is inferior. There will never be peace in Israel until they find a nice place (like Jordan) and create a homeland for the malcontents.
A conflict like the one they now have will never be resolved with dialog. The Palestinians will never behave in a civilized manner. Why placate them or give them safe harbor where they will simply continue to unleash terror?
I totally agree, Ipso. Three generations later, it’s time the “Palestinians” were told to suck it up; the thing is done. The UN should be discussing how to arrange for refugees to immigrate into the surrounding countries. Catering to irrationality only emboldens it.
By giving them Gaza and The West Bank, Israel is only giving them a foothold. The Palestinians will then cling to the hope that one day they will eventually conquer Israel because they have a platform from which they can launch attacks. How many missiles do you think they have in Gaza now? Only when Israel makes them realize that their bitching is totally futile will it ever stop.
These people who want to have “peace in the valley” never get it. When conflicts are left unresolved due to pacification and placating aggressors – conflict goes on eternally. Let them dismantle a couple of holy sites and move them to Jordan. Once they have been completely removed from the interior of Israel, then, and only then will it be over.
Once they have some territory in Jordan, lets see if they build a nation like Israel. Anyone want to venture on the likelihood of that?

In other words, war *is* the answer. Cease fires and armistices just delay the inevitable resumption and conclusion of the conflict.
My point is that you cannot possibly ever have peace with people who are committed to nothing less than your total annihilation. You cannot have peace with people who practice deception in order to simply gain a foothold from which they can commit acts of terror and have a base for future aggression – including war. If cease fires and armistices were effective – fine, however, how thick can people be to think that a cease fire with people who break into homes and murder children is worth pursuing?
The only resolution of this matter is to completely remove the Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank – period. Once they have been removed, Israel should go to any length necessary to keep them out so they can no longer murder innocent people and commit other acts of terrorism. What nation tolerates such acts from a hostile group within their own borders?
Until they are removed, anyone who believe that appeasement and dialog will be effective is in denial. How many more Israeli deaths due to terrorism are you willing to accept? How many more families murdered in their own homes with knives is acceptable to you?
Until this is finished – it will go on. Israel needs to just finish it. Remove them ASAP!

We roll back borders to the borders of Israel as it was given by G-d to G-d’s chosen people, the Jews. In other words, Judea and Samaria plus plus.
