In a recent discovery by CriticalRace.org, Loyola University Maryland’s Philosophy Department was found to have described the history of the United States as one defined by the “snuffing out” of Black people through “white supremacist vigilantism” in its “Statement of Solidarity with BIPOC Community at Loyola and Beyond.” First issued in 2020 in response to the killing of George Floyd, the statement remains active on the department’s main university website.
