Earlier this week, Professor Jacobson noted that Hillary Clinton still very much wants to be president and thinks she was robbed last November.  There is little doubt this is true.  However, between her ridiculous book What Happened and bizarre pretense that allegations against her husband for sexual indiscretion, including rape, never happened, she highlights, even doubles down on, some of the main problems of her failed presidential campaign.

Donna Brazile's revelation that the Hillary Clinton campaign co-opted the Democratic National Committee during the primaries was fairly devastating news to those still hoping for a Hillary 2020 run. The primaries being "rigged" further distances Bernie supporters, who provide all the energy in the party, from the Democrat establishment. But make no mistake about it. Hillary WANTS to run again. She feels cheated (a feeling she well knows). She won the popular vote, and in her mind and that of her supporters, the election was STOLEN from her by James Comey and the Russians. To run in 2020 is simply to reclaim what rightfully is hers, in her mind. I can envision a campaign slogan along the lines of: "Hillary 2020, Returning the Presidency to its Rightful Owner."

Disgraced politician Anthony Weiner has reported to the Federal Medical Center Devens in Massachusetts to start his 21-month prison sentence he received for sexting with a minor. Weiner spent his last day of freedom with his father Morton at his Manhattan apartment. His brother Jason dropped him off at the prison.

During the 2016 campaign, there had been a lot of social media speculation about Hillary Clinton's health. That speculation was ridiculed as conspiracy theories and fake news. But when Hillary stumbled and almost fell during the 9/11 memorial, the conspiracy theories didn't seem so conspiratorial anymore. One of the mainstays of then-candidate Trump's campaign rallies was the attendees' "lock her up" chant, a reaction to his campaign promise to "jail crooked Hillary" Clinton. In late November of last year, President Trump shocked many of his supporters by announcing that he would not pursue charges against Hillary Clinton.  Instead, he said he was focused on bringing the country together and helping Hillary "heal." The Guardian reported at the time:
The president-elect told the New York Times on Tuesday that it would be “divisive” to pursue criminal investigations into the former secretary of state over her use of a private email server or conflicts of interest involving her foundation. His conciliatory tone provoked a backlash from some conservatives. “I don’t want to hurt the Clintons, I really don’t,” Trump said, according to a tweet by Times journalist Mike Grynbaum. “She went through a lot and suffered greatly in many different ways.”

Earlier this week, Politico published an excerpt from former interim DNC chairwoman Donna Brazile where she said she found a document that showed a deal between failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and the DNC. Brazile wrote that the agreement "specified that in exchange for raising money and investing in the DNC, Hillary would control the party’s finances, strategy, and all the money raised." NBC News has published this memo, which shows the control given to Hillary and her campaign. This includes hiring of DNC employees acceptable to the fundraising committee Hillary for America (HFA).

Earlier this week, Mary wrote about former DNC chair Donna Brazile throwing the Hillary Clinton campaign under the bus with her scathing Politico article about the Democrat primary being rigged against Bernie Sanders.  Brazile revealed that she found further email evidence that the Hillary campaign had struck an "unethical" deal with the DNC that effectively hobbled the Bernie campaign. This is an enormous bombshell that one might imagine the major networks would deem worthy of a passing mention.  After all, they did occasionally spare a few moments to cover the Hillary email and server scandals. One would be wrong, as President Trump noted yesterday.

While everyone concentrates on the White House, the Democrat Party continues to dive deeper into a civil war. Former interim DNC chairwoman Donna Brazile has taken aim at failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's campaign. Democratic strategist Stanley Greenerg is "still fuming about Hillary Clinton," especially since Democrat candidates are still using her failed tactics.

President Donald Trump tweeted on Sunday that he has never seen so much "anger & unity" among Republicans over the "lack of investigation" into Hillary Clinton's connection to a dossier developed in the 2016 presidential race to smear him. Trump made the comments after Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), chairman of the House Oversight committee, said on Fox News Sunday that he has concerns over Hillary's campaign paying a law firm over $12 million for the dossier.

Last week, The Hill reported that an FBI undercover agent in Russia accused President Barack Obama's DOJ of blocking him from speaking to Congress “about conversations and transactions he witnessed related to the Russian nuclear industry’s efforts to win favor with Bill and Hillary Clinton and influence Obama administration decisions.” His lawyer Victoria Toensing, who served as a Reagan DOJ official and chief counsel of the Senate Intelligence Committee, explained she was trying to free her client of the confidentiality agreement. It worked. The DOJ and FBI freed the informant from his confidentiality agreement, which means he may now speak to Congress about what he witnessed.

On Tuesday, The Washington Post reported that the Democrats and failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton funded the now-debunked Trump Dossier that has allegations of collusion between now-President Donald Trump and Russia. Today, the non-partisan Campaign Legal Center filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) that claims Hillary's campaign and the DNC violated campaign finance law over payments for the Trump Dossier.

Democrats and the left have been attempting a soft coup on the Trump presidency since election day. One of the key factors in this attempt to unseat a duly-elected president was the now infamous and thoroughly-debunked "Trump dossier" that falsely alleged Trump connections to, even collusion with, Russia. This document, it is now being reported, was funded by the Clinton campaign and by the DNC, then led by disgraced former DNC chair Debbie Wassermann-Schultz.

House Judiciary Committee Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) and House Oversight and Reform Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) have announced an investigation into the handling of the Hillary Clinton email scandal by the FBI and Department of Justice. The two committees will also investigate why the FBI didn't announce its investigation into then-GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump's campaign associates. From The Washington Examiner:
The probe will be conducted by two congressional panels responsible for overseeing the Justice Department and government operations in general. The investigators will review then-FBI Director James Comey's various decisions pertaining to the Clinton investigation, such as his unusual announcement that she should not face indictment.

Former President Jimmy Carter sat down for an interview with Maureen Dowd for the New York Times and dropped some pretty interesting bombs.  Dowd focused her write-up on his answer to her question about acting as a go-between for the Trump White House and North Korea.  He said that he would go if asked, and that's certainly both important and within his wheelhouse.  In the interview, however, Carter also defends President Trump and offers surprising assessments of former-president Obama, failed presidential candidate Hillary, and the media. His comments in defense of Trump might be seen as an attempt to ingratiate himself in order to be called upon to assist with North Korea.  Maybe.  But that doesn't explain his apparent candor in unflattering critiques of Obama, Hillary, and the media.
